Chapter 11 Who Is She?

....

“Let me go, useless dragon!”

“No! If I let you go, you’re gonna go back to those stalls and cause trouble again!”

Garren was holding tightly onto Ecanus to prevent him from wandering around the market.

“What? When did I cause trouble?” Ecanus said while trying to get off from Garren, though he's struggling to get away since Garren s stronger than him.

“Huh? Just earlier, you were about to buy a useless weapon! You picked a fight with the demon hunters! You also told the merchant that she was selling an expensive but useless weapon and you laughed. That merchant threw daggers at us, and my master almost hurt! F*ck*ng angel!” Garren was so pissed off that he grabbed Ecanus’ collar and scolded him continuously.

“My gosh, Garren, calm down.” I didn’t know Garren is like this when he’s pissed off, Zerha thought.

“Fine! Fine! Just let go of me! You’re spitting on me, f*ck*ng dragon!”

“If it weren’t for my master, I would’ve killed you by now!”Garren said while trembling in anger.

Some people were staring at them in confusion, while others were hoping that a fight would

break out between Garren and Ecanus.

“Stop that, Garren. People are looking at us. We shouldn’t stand out; we should stay lowkey.

What if someone notices that we are not humans?” Foxy whispered in Garren’s ear. When Foxy’s words sank in, Garren stopped scolding Ecanus and quickly released him from his grip.

“Milady? Did something happen?” Sage asked when he returned from looking for a place

where they could stay.

“Sage? Oh, just Ecanus causing trouble again.” Zerha sighed. “By the way, did you find us a

place to stay?”

“Yes, Milady. Please follow me.”

“Garren, Ecanus. Let’s go.” Zerha called the two when she noticed that they were still glaring at each other. She sighed.

“We are here, Milady,” said Sage, and their jaws dropped as they looked at the structure of the place. “I know it’s not that good. I tried to find another place that suits you, Milady, but I’m sorry. This is the only one that I found.” Sage said, his voice laced with disappointment. The four of them gave Sage a look of astonishment. Why is he so disappointed? This is not any ordinary shelter that you can find in a public place! This is a guesthouse, and it’s a big guesthouse! Zerha thought in shock.

“Well, ahem… I admit that this house is not that big for a mighty angel like me, but I still

appreciate your effort, Sage.” They all looked at Ecanus with poker faces. Just moments ago he was shocked by the size of the guesthouse.

“Are you the one that is renting the guesthouse?” A woman in her 30s asked. I thought they were from a noble family since the boy earlier acted like one. I should decline them since they don’t look like they can afford my rent. The landowner thought.

“May I know how much the rent is?” Zerha asked.

“30,000 silver coins per night. That includes the meals.”

“What?” They all shouted in unison, except for Sage.

Well, I should have expected that this high-class guesthouse is expensive, Zerha thought.

“W-well, guys, do we have any m-money?” Zerha asked. I don’t think we have any…

“Ahem… I don’t think so…” Foxy answered.

“Sage is the one who recommended this residential house. Perhaps he has money to pay, right?” Garren said. They all looked at Sage, expecting that he had enough silver to pay the rent.

Sage was startled when he realized that he didn’t have any money either. “I-I'm sorry, I don't have any money either." He said, lowering his head. At these words, their hopes started to crack. I ran away from home and forgot to bring some money or anything else, Sage thought.

“If you don’t have any money to pay, then please leave. I still have other guests to deal with.” The landowner said.

“Wait, we don’t have any coins, but is this enough to pay for at least one night?” The landowner was astonished upon seeing what Zerha was holding. It was a bag full of gold. There was not only gold inside; Zerha had also put various kinds of gemstones, except for the blue diamonds. “Y-you can stay here as long as you want…” The landowner was still in shock as she took the bag of precious stones.

“Oh, is that enough? Thanks!” Zerha replied brightly.

“You may now go inside. The housekeeper will give you a tour.” Enough? This is more than enough. The landowner thought.

“Okay…” When Zerha and the others headed inside, the landowner looked at the gemstones in the bag. I have never seen these rare gemstones in my life. Nobles possess a lot of gold, but I believe only a few of them have precious gemstones, well except for the royal family. Is she a daughter of some noble? But how can she give away these precious stones like it’s no big deal? These are very hard to find. Who is she? She's not from the royal family since this is the first time I have seen her as well as her companions. The landowner was very curious about who exactly Zerha was. At the same time, she felt suspicious of her.

After the housekeeper toured them around the guesthouse, Zerha and the others sat in the living room. “What should we do while staying here, Master?” Foxy asked.

Right. What should I do? I got reincarnated in a different world that I didn’t know existed! And on top of that, why do I feel like I’ve easily adapted to this new body and place? Is it because I read too many fantasy stories in my previous life? Sigh. All the people that got reincarnated in the novels, got reincarnated either because they wanted to take revenge or because they had a mission to do. But I got reincarnated. Do I need to take revenge? Hmm… But on whom and why would I need revenge? Perhaps I need to accomplish some mission? Or I guess I’m just a simple demon girl that got reincarnated without any special mission... Then that’s a relief. All I need to do is live a normal life here. Zerha thought. “Well, I want to live an ordinary life…”

“I’m afraid you can’t since this is not a peaceful place,” Foxy replied.

“I guess you’re right, but let's try not to get into fights.” Especially demons or the demon hunters!! Zerha thought.

“May I ask where you got all those rare gemstones, Milady?” Sage suddenly asked.

“Oh, those. Garren gave them to me.”

“Then I guess rumors about dragons that can find treasures are true.” I also can't believe that a dragon still exists in this world. They are mythical creatures, powerful creatures like dragons that can annihilate a city or maybe a whole kingdom, Sage thought.

“Oh? Is that how you found all those treasures, Garren?” Zerha asked.

“Yes. Dragons have the ability to detect and locate treasures.” Garren answered.

So all the novels I have read about dragons are that, they are very attractive to crystals or any other precious stones are true? Oh my gosh, I’m so lucky that I found Garren! Zerha suddenly looks at Garren with a thankful look. Garren only tilt his head and made a questioning look. Why is Master looking at me like that?

“You gave the landowner a lot of gemstones…” said Sage.

“Don’t worry, I still have a lot.” Of course, the super rare blue diamonds should be kept for me hehe. Real diamonds are far more valuable than gold and silver. Sigh, if only I were in my original world, Zale and I would probably be rich! I miss my brother. I wonder how he’s doing… Zerha thought sadly.

While they were immersed in the discussion, the landowner told them that dinner was ready and should head to the dining room. I didn’t notice that it was already dark, Zerha thought.

Zerha drooled when she saw the food on the big table. “A long table with so much food… Heaven…” Zerha remarked. It feels like I'm in an anime, the dishes look like it's sparkling. They are mouth-watering, can't wait to eat the dishes in this world! Zerha thought excitedly.

“Wow…” Foxy breathed out.

Sage gulped, as he saw the food in front of him. It's been days since I run away from home, and haven't eaten anything, he thought.

Garren’s and Ecanus’ stomachs growled in unison.

“Please help yourselves,” the landowner said, and they all quickly sat and chowed down until

their stomachs were full.

Ecanus burped all of a sudden.

“I’m so full,” Garren said as he laid his back on the chair.

“Thank you for the food!” Zerha said in delight.

Their table manners are like those of ordinary people. They are not nobles? The landowner’s confusion grew.

....

“Hey! My room is upstairs!” Ecanus shouted as he began climbing the stairs.

The guesthouse only provides single rooms. This is almost like a villa, so big. Zerha thought.

“Let me stay in your room, Milady so that I can watch you and protect you in case of danger.”

Sage suggested with a serious expression.

“Okay,” Zerha agreed without a second thought. Ecanus froze in his tracks and looked over at them.

“What the f*ck?!"

“Huh?!” Ecanus and Garren shouted at the same time.

“Pfft…” Foxy was trying to suppress a laugh. They all look like idiots, she thought.

“If you want to stay in her room, then let me stay there, too!” Ecanus shouted.

Garren made a facepalm, and that time Ecanus shouted, Garren thought that Ecanus would stop Sage, though Garren suddenly remembered that he shouldn’t expect an idiot like him to understand this type of situation. “A**holes! Neither of you is allowed to enter my master’s room! If either of you tries to sneak inside her room, I’ll burn you to ashes!” Garren said, looking at them with his eyes on fire. I can’t believe my master just agreed! Garren sighed in disbelief.

“What’s the problem? I don’t mind sharing my room…” I used to share a bedroom with Zale, ‘cause sometimes I can’t sleep alone, Zerha thought.

“Master, you don’t understand!” Garren told her.

“Huh? What don’t I understand?” Zerha asked innocently.

“What...? Haa, it's not proper! I don’t trust these guys. What if they do something to you while you’re asleep? I can’t believe you agreed---“ Foxy sighed and interrupted Garren. She knew that if he got annoyed, he would not stop blabbering. “Shut up. I’ll be the one to stay in Master’s room. I’ll guard her, so let’s all calm down, especially you, Garren!”

“Hmph!” Garren frowned.

They all went to their rooms, and Zerha was about to close the door when she noticed Sage

standing in front of her room. “Why are you still standing there, Sage? Go to your room.” Zerha said.

“At least allow me to stand on guard outside the door, Milady.”

Zerha sighed. “You don’t have to do that. There’s probably no danger here. So go to your room and get some rest.”

“As you wish.”
