Good Bye, My Love!

Laura left her office at 3.10 pm and rushed to the parking lot where her red HRV had been parked this morning. She immediately drove to the Royal Heritage, she wanted to take a shower first and check her belongings so that nothing would forget.

James had finished bathing and dressed, he chose a white t-shirt with jeans and a jeans jacket too, he wore brown leather sandals with open sandals at the tips of the toes. He took his wallet and cell phone and put them in his sling bag. Then he went to Laura's apartment.

Arriving at Laura's apartment door, he entered the pass code 888910 as usual and the door opened. Looks like Laura came home because she had her shoes on this morning, maybe a shower, James thought.

He walked into Laura's room. Laura was sitting in front of the mirror and drying her wet hair with the hair dryer, she was still wearing the bathrobe on her body.

"Want my favor to dry your hair, Darling?" asked James who suddenly surprised Laura and widened her eyes.

"Ohhh, just surprise James!" lamented Laura protested.

James also walked closer to Laura and took the hair dryer from Laura's hand and then dried Laura's beautiful long wavy hair like a professional hair stylist.

"Hey, you were angry at the ACC ...." Laura teased, laughing.

James smiled in response and said, "It's natural that I'm angry, many of the practical results failed because they weren't serious."

"You're suitable to be Prof Kurniasih's subordinate if you are fierce with the practitioner," teased Laura again, Prof. Kurniasih is a senior lecturer colleague at the PA Lab who is greatly feared by students because of her fierceness.

"Yes, later when I become a professor like you, My Dear," replied James idly.

"The hair is already dry, let's wear clothes, Princess, if you don't want me to devour your body," threatened James while kissing Laura's open shoulder.

Laura immediately ran away from James and changed clothes in the bathroom, she was wearing a white cotton t-shirt and a red cardigan with skinny jeans underneath. Not long after, they went to the airport in James's car.

James dropped Laura and her suitcase in the airport lobby then parked the car first. After that he approached Laura who was still standing in the lobby waiting for him.

"I brought the suitcase, Honey," said James took the suitcase from Laura's hand and took Laura's hand to check in the plane ticket.

After that they entered the airport waiting room and looked for an empty seat to wait for the announcement of the flight schedule.

James put his arm around Laura's shoulder as he sat down and said, "When you get to Bangkok, don't forget to tell me, Honey."

Laura nodded her head while looking at James's face. She actually felt sad to be away from James, but she had to go because it was a college assignment.

"Don't think too much about me, Dear. I'm used to living alone abroad," Laura said casually to James.

The announcement of the plane's departure to Bangkok was heard, Laura said goodbye to James. James hugged her tightly as if not willing to let Laura go then kissed her lips intensely.

"See you later, My Love!" said James and let Laura go.

Laura walked to the departure gate and turned to James once while waving her hand. James waved back and forced himself to smile.

James drove himself back to his apartment, the highway was quite busy that evening because it was still around 7 pm. There was a feeling of emptiness in his heart, but he had to endure because Laura was only gone for a few days. Don't be childish he scolds himself.

Finally James arrived at the basement of the Intercontinental Regency. After parking his white Fortuner, he immediately took the elevator to his unit on the 12th floor.

Just as he was sitting on the sofa in the living room his cell phone rang. Quite surprised to see the caller id, Papi who contacted via video call.

James : "Hello Pi. Why did you call me?"

Leonard : "Hello Son. Can't Papi call?"

James : "Okay. What's wrong Pi?" James asked directly because he was in a bad mood right now.

Leonard : "Aren't you with your girlfriend anymore?"

James : "Laura is leaving for Bangkok this afternoon because there is a pathologist symposium tomorrow."

Leonard : "Papi wants to ask about Laura, who is she? Let's talk, Papi wants to know Son."

James was a bit worried because he didn't know that his Papi already knew all about Laura's background from his men. Finally he decided to tell everything to his Papi but in the end he had to ask for his blessing for James relationship with Laura.

James : "Okay, James will tell about Laura but Papi promise not to be angry first." James asked before starting to startle his Papi.

Leonard : "Papi promise not to be angry. Let's tell Papi and I will listen ..."

James : "So Pi, Laura is James's lecturer at FKH." James stopped and listened his Papa's response first.

Leonard : "Continue the story ..." he said with a flat tone.

James: "She's a new lecturer, a professor at the Anatomical Pathology Lab. She replaced my lecturer who is currently hospitalized at the hospital. So James has only known Laura for about two months. But James has loved her, Pi, since the first time we met. She's James's first love."

Leonard was still listening to the story of his little prince. He was so afraid that his little prince would be hurt by a broken heart. James is dating for the first time.

Among the three little princes, James is the most gentle and he always protects. Leeray and Michael have been stubborn since childhood and their temperaments are tough unlike James, who is more calm.

But among his three sons, James was the most genius and paid attention to his education, from childhood James was always ranked first in his school. So when James wanted to study in a field completely different from their family business, Leonard was not against it.

Leonard : "James, Papi didn't stop you from dating Laura. How old is Laura now?"

James : "Laura is 32 years old. We are 11 years apart Pi. Is that bad?"

Leonard: "No James, the age difference doesn't matter if you won't change your feelings for Laura if she ages faster than you do. Women age faster."

James fell silent and thought deeply. Then he said again.

James: "Pi, James only wants one woman in this life. James only loves Laura. It's only been a few hours since she's been away from James, my feelings are already messed up. We used to sleep together even without sexual activity."

Leonard was stunned to hear James's story, this was something that was not reported by his men who followed James. There is a physical dependence between the son and the girl. Leonard became very worried this time. He massaged his temples which suddenly felt dizzy.

Leonard: "James, are you ready to meet Laura's parents? Do you need Papi to accompany you to propose to Laura?"

James: "Pi, James thought about this too. But it doesn't seem like the time is right. James is still a student who hasn't graduated from college, while Laura is a professor, also a foreign graduate."

Leonard sighed heavily.

Leonard: "Papa also thinks the same thing. Even though in assets and money you have plenty and enough to support Laura even up to seven generations. Not to mention Papi's legacy for you and your brothers is very large."

James: "James really understands Pi. James always spoils Laura with the resources that James has. But she is different compared to other girls that James knows. Leonard was surprised for the umpteenth time to hear his youngest son's confession. Laura seems to be a very special woman for James. Beautiful, intelligent, professional, can cook, independent and not materialistic. Especially what James said earlier. It's hard to get a woman like this, what a dream daughter-in-law.

Leonard: "James, you make Papi really curious about Laura. Well, let's put it this way, later when Laura comes back from Thailand, let Papi know again. Papi wants to meet her in Jogja only if you are busy. Papi will try to meet with Laura's parents."

James was relieved to hear his Papi's words and cheered with joy. He didn't expect his Papi to accept Laura so easily.

Leonard: "Okay okay. That's all right then, James. Papi hangs up the phone. Don't have insomnia tonight, Laura will be fine. Do you need Papi to send bodyguards to Thailand to escort Laura?"

James: "It's up to Papi, but don't let Laura find out she'll get angry with James again. James can't stand if Laura ignores me."

Leonard burst into laughter.
