The drive was 'very exciting'. Note the sarcasm. Sam decided that he was going to take Rose to a new restaurant the just opened up not too far away from Auntie Betties. Sam was really skeptical and reluctant to take Rose to a restaurant called 'The Rosetta Spruce' because one, it was way too fancy for a friendly date, and two, Rose, Rosetta. Sam just thought that it was a little bit too cliché. Either way, there was nothing he could do because he had already made reservations under the name 'Grayson'.
