CHAPTER THIRTY

Sam was in shock; there was no other way to put it. There was never a moment in his life when he was more shocked than he was in that moment. He just stared at the man in front of him, not knowing what to say. How could he have kept such a thing from him? Sam wasn’t sure about how to process his feelings; he wasn’t even sure of what he was feeling. He had always been a tough nut to crack, even when he arrived at X-Out Academy, but finally, Peter Bolton had managed to break him, and Sam knew that there was no way of going back. His whole life had been a lie, and everything he thought wasn’t true. He started to question everything, not giving his brain a second to rest because he knew if he did that, he would be consumed whole. He didn’t want that to happen. Sam needed to stay strong; he couldn’t afford to show any signs of weakness and succumb to his emotions, but how could he not, when he had just found out that the man he thought to be his uncle was actually... his father.
