Chapter Twenty-Nine

"You have to return after a week, the results will be ready by then" the doctor announced. The doctor, me, zayyad and Khalid were present in the doctor's office. The atmosphere was tense like it has been since we left home.

Zayyad thanked the doctor and we all stood up, Khalid reached for Zayyad's hand again but he stood up like he didn't notice the little boy and walked out. We followed suit. Sa'ada was sitted outside in the waiting room, she looked up at us but her eyes was searching for her son. Her eyes landed on him standing beside me and she smiled and beckoned at him to come over. He ran over to her and stood in between her legs. It was time for us to go, she wishpered something into his ear, he nodded vigorously with a goofy smile on his face.

She stood up and both me and Zayyad walked behind her. He hasn't said a word to me since we left home and I'm guessing he's worried about the result being positive.
