Pov. Eliza
After a bizarre dream where Helodi did things too absurd for me to believe, I opened my eyes and found Helodi sitting on the edge of the bed looking at me, I don't think I need to say that I almost popped my organs out due to fright. After all, waking up with a pair of blue eyes staring at you like you were a juicy piece of meat is not normal for me, but worse was seeing her get up and leave the room right away.
Like that.
I did not understand.
What's wrong with this girl?
Confused I try to sit up in bed, but the pain in my ankle seems to have gotten ten times worse, with difficulty I can sit up in bed feeling my face burning and a pressure in my face. I quickly remember being kicked in the face, several stomps on the ankle and some kicks in the ribs, I lift my shirt and notice a large purple stain, I sigh and it causes me a little pain, I hear a knock on the door and then Juan goes into.
- Good afternoon sleepyhead, how are you feeling? - Asks approaching.
- I'm in doubt between finished is just the shard. - I joke and he smiles.
- I think both define you well now, but it can get even worse if you don't tell me why you left without saying anything. - he says looking me in the eyes. - By chance you didn't like our house, am I not being a good host? Was Helodi more stupid than usual with you? - He asks confused and I sigh.
- Sorry, it's not like that, I swear to you. I answer quickly and he raises his eyebrows. - I just freaked out, you guys are being great with me, I just thought I shouldn't stay here abusing your hospitality, I mean, we don't know each other, you have no reason to have me here. - Completely awkward.
- If the whole problem is the fact that we still don't know each other, then we'll work it out during your long stay here, because I don't intend to let you get away again, I already had Mike nail boards to the outside of the window. - he says pointing to the window and I smile. - You are welcome in this house since the moment Helodi arrived here carrying you all bruised and unconscious. You rescued her from a cruel fate, that makes you someone important to us, our friend, so your presence here is more than satisfying. - complete and I hug him.
- Thank you, I was never welcomed anywhere other than my room, I was never treated well and I never had friends due to my weird way. - I say sincerely and he hugs me back taking care not to hurt me. - The attentive way you treated me scared me a little, then came the whole thing about becoming a fugitive and I freaked out. - I continue and then I pull away to look at him. - Like, I'm not seen well anymore, it's usually now and I won't be anyway. - full fun and he laugh.
- Now they'll want to put you in an asylum together with Helodi. - He says in the same tone making me laugh.
- Exactly, we will be roommates. - I joke and he laughs even more.
We turn to hear a knock on the door and then Mike comes in with a wheelchair leaving me confused.
- Good afternoon, little survivor. - he jokes and I smile at him.
- Good afternoon, what's that for? - I ask and he looks at Juan.
- You'll have to wear this for a few days, until the tendon in your ankle deflates. - He answers and I pull the sheet away from my body and see how horrible my ankle is.
- Holy shit, look how awful this is. - I say seeing the dark region and so swollen to the point of looking like there was some deformity there.
- Helodi said that one of the attackers was stepping on your ankle, it made the whole situation worse and now you have tendinopathy. - Mike says pushing the chair towards me. - It's a tendon injury that limits movement and causes a lot of pain. You still haven't felt anything because I gave you a strong sedative so I could put your nose back together. - complete and I bring my hand to my nose.
- Is it broken? - I ask and he denies it.
- Just moved, but now everything is fine, we are taking care of you during these two days. - he answers and I sigh.
Shit.
I could be dead right now.
Those guys weren't kidding.
I don't even want to imagine what they would have done to me if Helodi hadn't shown up.
- She's annoyed with me, isn't she? - I ask and they both look at each other before answering.
- She's complicated, you can't know what she feels. - Juan says leaving me confused. -Now let's clean her up so we can have lunch as a family. - he says before I can say anything.
Mike picks me up and then puts me in the chair and then leaves the room leaving me alone with Juan, he helps me brush my teeth and wash my face, as soon as I finish he guides me to the dining room where Helodi and Mike set the table. She looks at me for a moment but then turns her attention back to what she was doing, which makes me uncomfortable, even more so when Juan goes to the kitchen to help Mike with the dishes leaving us alone in an awkward silence for me.
Excellent.
I think I'm getting confused ice.

Pov. Helodi
I spent two days watching Eliza as she slept sedated, wondering why I helped her, why seeing her getting hurt pissed me off to the point where I don't care about hiding these bizarre things I can do. Perhaps it is because it is also part of the inexplicable things that exist in the world. I take a deep breath avoiding looking at the girl, but her attempt to misplace the chair in her place the table catches my eye and so I go to her and silently help her.
- Thanks. - she says and I look at her from the corner. - I also want to thank you for two days ago, you saved me from suffering something worse. - complete and I open my mouth to answer something, but the sound doesn't come out, so I just go back to my seat.
- I hope you like Mexican food, because I made it with great affection for my babies. - Juan says looking at both of us as he puts the bowl on the table and then Mike appears with another.
- I absolutely love it. - Mike says smiling.
- I've never eaten before. - Eliza says and I look at her.
- And the best food in the world. - says Mike excitedly.
- It's not the best in the world, I'm the best cook in the world, so any kind of cuisine is wonderful when I do it. - Juan says convinced and the girl laughs.
I take a closer look now at her striking features is how the way she smiles with her dimple etching her cheek makes her adorable. I wonder how I didn't notice before how much green eyes of hers seem to reflect what she feels, how beautiful, polite and kind she is. And then I think about the problems I may have brought into her life, not that I got into the mind of someone I didn't know before and made her go to that place and let me go, but that doesn't stop me from thinking her kind attitude is costing you dearly and it will only get worse.
If she has a boyfriend she won't be able to see him anymore for taking me out of that place.
She will also no longer see her family and friends.
She'll have to change her look, her identity, maybe leave the country, I don't know what she thinks, but sooner or later she'll leave.
She was going, but those men got in the way of her plans and then I brought her back here.
I wonder if I shouldn't have taken her somewhere else to her liking.
- Helodi ? - Mike's voice calling me makes me come back to reality and then I look at him. - Want tacos? - he asks and I nod. - Where's your head? - fun question.
- I was just thinking. - I answer calmly and Juan looks at me with that irritating expression that has been driving me crazy since the day I helped Eliza.
- Thinking about the green of the universe. - Juan says and I feel like punching him.
- Seriously thinking about killing you strangled. - I say with an unfriendly smile and he laughs.
- You wouldn't kill me, you never could. - he says convinced.
- I can try until I accidentally end up with your life. I say, smiling devilishly at him.
- Not funny. - he says making a face and that makes me happy.
Excellent.
Now I doubt he'll make stupid jokes again.
- What do you think of the tacos? - Asks Juan looking at Eliza who smiles.
- I'm loving it. -He answers and I notice something coming out of his nose.
I take the cloth napkin off the table and then offer it to her.
- Your nose is bleeding. - I say and she takes the napkin and then presses it against her nose.
- That's embarrassing. - She says awkwardly and I get up and go to her.
I pull her chair away from the table and then push her into the hall bathroom so she can wash her face and hands. I know Juan must be making a thousand jokes about my actions towards Eliza, but I don't care. In the bathroom I help her get rid of the blood as her green eyes study me curiously, she's probably confused by my actions.
- Want to ask something? - I ask and she thinks a little before answering.
- Why did you save me? - he asks and I shrug.
- I just wanted us to be even. - I answer after some time and she seems to think about my answer. - Why were you leaving? I ask and she sighs.
- I freaked out, I do this a lot when I can't handle situations. - She answers and I see truth in her eyes.
- You could have died. I say and she nods.
- But you didn't allow it, so I'm here involved in a bizarre mood with you. -she says amused, but I don't smile. - What did you do with those men? - she asks and I quickly look at her while drying her hands with the towel.
- You couldn't stand the truth. - I answer ready to push her chair out of the bathroom.
- Maybe you can't bear to think that the truth can't shake me. He says and I look into her eyes. - Do you think I only see through people's eyes? - He asks and I lean on the sink. - Being a mirror is not my biggest burden, Helodi. -she says and then looks down. - I've dealt with things you can't even imagine, so no matter what you may have done, I'll stay here until your last word, because I see right through you and it doesn't scare me at all. - She completes looking me in the eyes and I gasp in surprise.
- What do you see ? - I ask feeling my heart beat a little faster than normal after discovering that she may know something about me that I try to hide.
- You have something inside you, something that tries to corrupt your soul constantly. - answers seriously. - I also saw what one of the guards of that place wanted to do to you, I saw what happened to him and I don't understand, but I know that you can make me understand easily. - continues and I stay silent, then she speaks again. - Or I can find out myself if you prefer, but know that my preference is for you to tell me. - Completely quiet.
- I'll wait for you to find out then. - I say positioning myself behind the chair. - Because I don't want you to try to run away again, that would make Mike and Juan upset, they like you and want you here. I keep pushing her chair out of the bathroom and she lifts her head to look at me. - Your place is here now, you've been part of this mess since the moment you started to dream about me, you started to see right through me, you unfortunately are in uniform to live this madness until it's safe for you to go back to your normal life again . - complete and she smiles.
- I understand, I will not run away again, when I decide to leave again, I will go through the front door. - he says and I avert my eyes from his feeling strange.
Okay, the intention here wasn't to appear friendly, but rather threatening.
But I think it backfired.
Because now I want her to stay because I need answers about her, I need to understand what brought her to me.
What's behind those abilities of hers as she's discreetly evidenced there's more.
So what to expect from this girl?
Who is Eliza?
