CHAPTER 74

Elaine looked out the window and cried "God give me the strength to face all this" She said.

At home, Ai Lun watched TV and saw Elaine come home. "Sister, it's good that you is back because at home only Ai Lun and aunt here, our parents go abroad for work" Said Ai Lun. Elaine just nodded and went into the room. Ai Lun felt weird with her sister's attitude and he went eavesdropping outside "Is Sister in a bad mood today" He said.

At night, Elaine went into the pool and closed her eyes to appreciate and calm herself. Things that happened in her studio flashed back and Elaine opened her eyes "Why am I being blamed for someone else's actions" She said. Ai Lun came and sat on the floor while his feet played in the water. "Sister are you okay, come back here but don't talk to me about anything" Ai Lun asked. Elaine turned around and smiled "Sister very tired, tomorrow brother An Sheng will come back here with his children and his wife" Elaine said and swam. Mrs. Jiang got angry "Why don't you want to hear mama's words directly" She said. Nick approached his mother "What mama said and do to her" Nick said with a pounding. "Mama slapped her and said she was a slut" Mrs. Jiang said boldly. Nick drives and calls Elaine several times but goes unanswered. feelings of fear and worry began to frighten her.

Elaine drives to the bar at night and she goes inside. Elaine saw a lot of people having fun and dancing, she started looking for Alisa. Elaine stops when she sees her friend being harassed by a group of men. "Don't touch me" Alisa said in a drunken state. A man tries to grab Alisa's thigh but doesn't have time, he is kicked by Elaine.

The crowd in the bar looked at her "You so dare try to touch my friend with your dirty hands" Elaine said angrily.

Elaine pulled Alisa behind her. "Woah, come again beautiful woman, we can let her go but you have to follow us" Said a group of men while laughing. Elaine looked around and quickly Elaine held the empty glass bottle and broke it into a sharp "You choose to die or go to the hospital" She said loudly. A group of men became frightened and retreated a little. Elaine held Alisa and walked towards the exit.

When Elaine walked, she turned around and was shocked when the bad guy threw the glass bottle at them and Elaine pushed Alisa to the side and she raised her hand to her face and closed her eyes, The sound of glass shattering on the floor made Elaine open her eyes slowly and she was shocked when Nick was in front of her hugging her "Don't worry, I'm here" Nick said while stroking Elaine's hair.

Elaine let out a sigh of relief. Leon picked up Alisa to go to the car first. Nick smiles at Elaine and he turns towards a group of men and he fights with them. With a worried face, Elaine shouted "Nick stop". A man held a glass bottle behind Nick and tried to hit him, Elaine quickly ran towards Nick when she saw "Nick, behind you" She said.

Nick turned around and saw Elaine trying to save him, Quickly Nick hugged Elaine and tried to pull Elaine away from the bottle, At that moment the bottle shattered when it hit Nick's back. "Nick" Elaine shouted worriedly.

Nick and Elaine exited the police station after reporting the incident. Nick pulled Elaine into his arms "I quickly came to the bar after getting a call from Leon, luckily you weren't hurt, you made me very scared" Nick said. Elaine just kept quiet and she let go of the hug "Let's go home now, because you now need a long break" Elaine said and went towards the car without turning towards Nick. Nick felt sad when Elaine was cold to him. Elaine sat in the driving seat while Nick rested by her side.
