I CAN TOLERATE

Next morning when my alarm rung, I woke up with a start. And then remembered everything from last night. I felt like asking mom to a leave from school. But I got dressed and went down.

"Did you have ice-cream, darling?"

"Yeah..."

"How was it?"

"Great" I said trying to smile.

"Is there something upsetting you?"

"No mom...."

I kissed my mom goodbye and went to my car. I started the car and at there for a few minutes before I drove it to school.

I got out of my car after I parked it to it's designated place. I caught glance of Chase, with his brothers entering the campus in their car. I went straight into the school, trying to ignore everyone. Sophie came to me, running.

"Hola, amigo!" She greeted.

"Hi, Sophie" I smiled as I said.

"What's the first period for you!?"

"It's..." I still hadn't checked today's schedule.

"It's Chemistry" I said. Suddenly my heartbeats raised.

"Ohh...do yo have gym today?"

"Yeah..."

"Great...we have Gym together!!"

"See you there then!" I said and then went to the Chemistry class, as slowly as I could.

When I entered the class, Chase was already seated. I went and sat beside him quietly. Not even glancing at him. But my cheeks were hot red.

He shifted far away from me. I looked at him for the first time.

"Do you want me to change place?" I asked half angry half disappointed.

"I can tolerate" he said coldly.

How could I disgust someone so much. Even the people in California weren't this sick of me. I slid to the far edge of the seat. I saw him watching me as I took my books far away from him. Now I sat so far away from him that one more person could fit in between us.

Thankfully the teacher entered the class.

"So class, I want you and your desk mates to do this activity. And you'll be graded accordingly." He explained the activity to us.

I was just going to ask the teacher to change my partner, because Chase hated me.

"No need to change partner" he said as though reading my mind. But I took it as a mere guess.

I sat down and went quiet again.

It was a small activity, which didn't need us both to talk much. And to my surprise, I came to know that Chase was really good as study. I was good too, I topped at my old school. Maybe that's why people didn't like me there.

I rushed out of the class once the activity was over. And straight to English class.
