Dale was losing his mind over Nevaeh's silence towards him. She seems to be consciously avoiding him after their argument at the library —where she had called him an insensitive and cold hearted lord, and called the angels, wicked, soulless monsters before slamming the door to his face. He had given her enough space to brood, but not anymore.
He listened to the sound of the trinkling water coming from the bathroom, and the faint fresh scent of her shampoo seeping through the door told him she was having her bath.
Carefully, he stepped into the room but just as he did Nevaeh walked out of the bathroom, halting him on the spot. They locked gaze on one another. The subtle change of her heart beat and the scowl that suddenly framed her face told him she has by no chance forgiven him.
"Neveah," He called, but the cold response of her eyes accompanied with the heavy slam of her dressing room's door clamped his mouth shut as he flinched.
