Trouble With The Neighbours

A month had gone by from the winter dance that took place in November and now William's parents have returned from their travels. His curfew time had increased to ten after he showed maturity and saddled the responsibility of keeping the house in order while they were away. He is also thinking of telling his parents about his m turning or if it should remain a secret from them as they were once or they are wolves themselves. Away from his family, the pack has also grown to ten with three new members arriving. Kent, Ethan and Mary being the new additions to the pack. Kent is in tenth grade in a private school, his family lineage also have people that had turned like his grandfather. This being said, his family also hold ties with the Gatwick family. He is average height with brown hair and black eyes. He dawn's an all black coat and towers at five foot nine and a half inches which is just an shorter than William. Mary is a ginger that attends the same school as Kent. She is a grade higher than him though and her family just recently moved to town three months ago. She is the first one in three generations to turn and on new soil away from their home in Derby. When transformed, she is five foot seven with a red coat and black cream coloured markings. Ethan on the other hand is a college student in his second year, he moved away from campus and into the city. He is five foot eleven and with the same coat colour as Brian but with different marking patterns. With Caleb's dismissal, Will has had to fill in his spot seeing that his the other beta. Miranda as always has handled their combat training, Keisha and Connor with their hunting as He and Linda handled their tracking and scouting sessions. Kent has been awarded the position of a warrior and scout with Mary and Ethan both getting scouts. The three of them got the rank of omega. Will, Keisha and the alpha pair maintained their usual patrol partners while Miranda paired up with the new comer Kent and Mary paired up with Ethan.

William's parents had noticed a change in their son with more discipline and his grades have increased. The only thing that they didn't understand was where he stayed after school until ten in the night but with the evenings and early hours of the morning looking like day time, they had little or nothing to worry about.

"I never knew being a beta would have this much responsibilities" William complained as he walked alongside Connor on patrol.

"Well it all comes with the position but look on the bright side, you're second only to the alpha pair unlike the omegas that are at the bottom." Connor said grumbling.

"Well yh but even among all you omega's, you, Keisha and Brian are superior to the new comers" William replied as he stopped and listened around to the different sounds for any wolf movement.

"I guess so" Connor said as he looked and sniffed around for wolf footprints.

"Speaking of Keisha, what's going on between you two lately. No more updates after that-" Connor said with his head in a snowy bush before getting a push that caused him to stagger and regain his balance.

"What was that for?" He asked as he receded his head from the bush.

"Nothing. We are just friends and that's it" William said walking along the trees that were somewhat lined up perfectly straight. Connor Leaped over to his side and asked a strange question.

"What if the vampires come back? What do you think we're going to do" Connor asked with some enthusiasm.

"To be honest I don't know. Maybe we'll fight em off, track them down, kill them and get used to their scent and keep it locked in out brains" William replied as he looked around for any movement.

William and Connor continued to look around for any pointers or clues that'll show enemy wolf activity. After surveying the area for a while, they sprinted towards the rocks incase a wolf came from there as it was one of the close places that the boulder pack could use to access their territory. As they arrived, they was movement in the bushes close by. William and Connor instinctively ducked down into the snow struck bushes. They studied the situation Infront of them as a rusty brown and dark silver wolf appeared. Their scent wasn't familiar which ment that they were from the boulder pack.

"What do you think they're doing here?" Connor asked.

"I don't know, but we're going to find out real soon" Will said with an assuring voice that gave Connor some courage.

The two blended perfectly into their surroundings as it was winter. The two wolves walked closer to them as one carried deer with its mouth and dumped it on the ground as they feasted on it. As if things weren't tensed enough, Blake appeared from the rocks and walked down. His black fur and scent had registered in William's brain after the encountered they had.

"Bro, things just got really intense right now" Connor told William with some shakiness in his voice.

"I know, what do you think they're hear for? They're like fifty feet away from their border" William stated in confusion.

"Well like you said, we're going to find out really soon" Connor reminded him.

"Yh, I guess so" Will said as he continued to observe the three.

Blake began to sniff the air as he began to pick up a familiar scent.

"I think he's on to us, what do we do now? We can't take them head on cuz they out number us" Connor stated fearfully.

"Well I can take on two of them but it won't be a smart decision. Let's proceed with caution and follow me, understood?" William said as his defensive instinct kicked in.

"No problem, I'll cover your back" Connor replied with some courage.

William took in a huge gulp before shaking his fur making the bushes shake up the snow that had fallen on them. Blake and the other three turned their attention to the bush as William with his grey fur appeared. Slight growls could be heard from the brown wolf. Connor also came out of his position shaking of the snow that clung to his black and grey fur.

"Well if it isn't the Hamster pack and their runts" Blake said as he walked towards the approaching William.

"See who's calling me a ring, atleast I don't sneak on to another person's turf and take their food". William said with a bit of anger. Connor stood with his front paws spread apart ready for action as he eyed the two behind Blake to make sure they don't try anything smart. William continued to walk towards Blake as he and Blake were now even in height and size. The two stood right Infront of Blake. The two could feel eachother a breath now.

"Big words coming out from a newbie" he said with a cunning tone.

"Don't push your luck Blake. You're even lucky that you're standing as you do right now" William said with a huff and anger.

"You sure about that?" Replied Blake as the others behind him began to growl louder and Connor did too.

"I'm positive" William said growling.

The two were now locked in an intense staring competition to intimidate one another before Ethan and Mary came leaping in. This had now turned the scale in their favour as the two surrounded the brown and silver wolf. Tensions flared as Blake and his mates were surrounded and out numbered.

"It seems back up has arrived. I guess we have to go now boys, playtime is over" Blake said as he turned his back on William and faced his pack members. The two disembarked from their meal and followed Blake behind as he walked away.

"I guess numbers saved you this time pup" Blake said to annoy William.

William gave into his tricks and chased Blake as he and the two that accompanied him scampered into the bushes and disappeared. William turned around and faced, Connor, Mary and Ethan that looked at him.

"What was that about?" Mary asked intrigued by what had just transpired before them.

"Honestly I don't know" William replied as he looked at their kill.

"It could be that they're short of food and are coming into our turf to hunt for food" Connor stated as he used his paw to flip the carcass over and examined it.

"That looks like the obvious implication but they could using this as an excuse to scout out our territory" Ethan commented as he walked over to William's side.

"Alright, I guess I better call for a meeting" Will announced before giving up a long howl telling the others about what had happened and the sighting of enemy wolves on their turf and told them to meet him by the old fox den surrounded by trees and rocks. Once he made the announcement, the four of them disembarked to the meeting point.

|Brian's POV|

Brain and Keisha sniffed around for tracks before their ears all turned to where Williams howl originated from. His head was close to the ground as he sniffed for wolf tracks or a scent before he lifted it up upon hearing and getting the message dropped for them. He turned to Keisha before the both of them howled back to acknowledge him. The two of them began to make a beeline for the designated spot for them to meet.

" I can't believe they dared to step a foot on to a territory" Brian said as he leaped over a log drenched in snow.

"I still can't believe it to. The balls those guys have" Keisha said as she ran side to side with Brian.

" It just makes me sick, like I should rip out their throats" Brian said with an aggresive snarl at the end as he exposed his fangs in disgust.

" Save your anger for later Rammstone" replied Keisha as she hoped over a bush and ducked to avoid a tree branch.

|Kent's POV|

Kent and Miranda were feasting upon a deer when the howl came in. Kent's head was deep into his prey while Miranda dug into the thighs. Miranda and Kent raised their head as both were covered in blood. The two howled in unison as they replied the howl of both William, Brian and Keisha.

"Those guys couldn't have picked a better time to try and pick a fight" Kent said angrily as he rubbed his head on snow to clean the blood of his face.

"You're feisty, I'll tell you that" Miranda said doing the same thing with her head too.

"I guess we have to get going. Don't want to be late to your first emergency meeting" Miranda stated as she finished cleaning her head and began to walk away from their kill.

"I guess so but now out kills going to go to waste" Kent said as he walked reluctantly away from his meal.

"Well, nature would take care of it or if we get back quick enough, it would just be frozen over" Miranda replied as she turned to reply her young underling.

"Eck, frozen deer no way. It won't be fresh anymore. I guess the scavengers can have it now. Let's go Miranda!" Kent exclaimed with emphasis on his last sentence and began to run.

Miranda followed suite as the two of them ran quickly hopping over logs and frozen streams, weaving through trees and hauling ass as they went to the fox den. The two were really adjusting to eachother very well as Miranda had to adapt cuz Caleb had left them.

|Eric POV|

Eric and Linda were equally patrolling their own side of their territory as William's howl came in. Their ears were raised up and turned towards were the howl came from. They returned the howl to signal their acknowledgement as wolf howls filled the whole forest and a their presence could be felt throughout the woods.

"I never knew the boulder pack would get the nerve to trespass, yet alone hunt in out territory" Linda said angrily as she and her husband ran through the snowy forest.

"Yh it's really infuriating but let's listen to the intel William has gathered" Eric said as he ran through a branch that was sticking out precariously.

William, Connor, Mary and Ethan were the first to arrive with Keisha and Brian appearing out of the bushes a few minutes later.

"Is it true Will, did you really see them?" Keisha asked before Miranda and Kent arrived from the trees.

"Yh, we saw them" William replied assertively as Kent brushed his tail.

"That's just madness. Could they be calling for war or signalling for something else?" Kent asked as he stood on William's left side and faced him.

"I don't know but whatever it is, we're going to get down to the bottom of this" William said before Linda and Eric leaped onto the rocks over the fox den.

"State your claim Will" Eric commanded with authority. All the wolves turned to face the alpha pair that sat before them. The whines and growls went silent as William stepped forward to state what he saw. All except Miranda stood in random positions but the shape was an irregular semi circle. Since she was a beta, she could sit wherever she wanted to as long as it was not in the same place the alpha pair sat. She sat on a rock above the den and looked down on the other seven wolves.

"I and Connor were doing our daily rounds and going on our usual partial route when we came to the rocky hill and found two wolves in the bushes, one rusty brown and one dark silver and they had killed a deer. The two dragged it out of the bush and dinned on it when Blake appeared" As William said Blake's name, there was an uneasiness with the pack member's that knew him.

"Blake? What was he doing with them?" Miranda asked as she sat on a rock three feet lower than the one Eric and Linda sat on.

"I don't know. I think he was supervising them as he was obviously not involved in the hunt. It could be that he led the other two wolves which could be newbies to hunt here. I and Connor confronted the three of them head on with no blows exchanged and he insulted us as usual. When things were getting hot, Mary and Ethan showed up as back as they must've picked up their scent from a distance assuming they were close by. Once they showed up, he and his runts cowards away and disappeared into the bushes" Said William as he finished his statement.

"Hmm" Eric commented as he deliberated on what to do.

"Nice work William and Connor in finding them out. Mary and Ethan, well done in getting there and supporting them. Your presence proved pivotal in that encounter. As for what has happened, Will, Connor, you guys need to be extra observant and detailed in your patrols. Brian and Keisha, you guys are going to take over Mary and Ethan's patrol route cuz I don't want them to fall victim to any experienced boulder pack member. You guys also need to be very detailed in your patrol checks too. Mary and Ethan, you guys are taking over Brian and Keisha's part of the forest. I would've loved you guys to handle the border but I don't want you guys to fall victim to their unpredictable plans. Everyone be on guard especially you four as you are patrolling our border with the boulder pack. So with that said, let's get back to work. Meeting adjourned" Eric Announced after giving his directions and howled.

The other wolves howled with their alpha before they disembarked from their meeting point and continued their patrol keeping in mind that danger could be lurking anywhere now.
