An Unexpected Christmas Surprise

This Christmas wasn't a joyful one for the pack but Will's parents told him to come home so that they could have some family time. He got home bringing some of his laundry from the Gatwick household back. His mom noticed his gloominess and talked with his father on what they could do. All William could do was chat with the others that were left to patrol the forest to get information.

"Come on Will, cheer up. The forest isn't going anywhere and nothing is going to happen to your friends so take it easy, don't over work yourself" Janet cajoled her son.

"Eeehhhh, mom I'm not over working myself but I'm just concerned. I want to be there in case anything happens I would be there to protect our land and my friends" William stated in a serious tone trying to convey his ideals to his mom.

"Hmmm" Janet said as she listened to her son and admired the responsible teenager that they've always wanted him to be. She was impressed with his statement and supported his will but he needed to rest.

"You're just like your father when he was your age but you need to rest. Don't forget that you got a lot of injuries from that ambush that you and the others suffered" she said with a concerned voice.

"It's nothing mom. We are wolves, it's what I do" William said standing up and putting his right hand on his mom's shoulder to support her.

"I knew you'd say that but I can't stop you from being who you are. Let's go make some Christmas foods Janet said happily as she pulled her son down the stairs.

They walked down and joined Brody that was busy with the turkey. William now had a smile on his face and was feeling less gloomy. He joined his father in preparing the turkey to be marinated and as always the two of them started their comedy streak cracking jokes left, right, and centre. Laughs and joy filled the Laire house with all of them as happy as they could be but we all hoped that's how it was back at the forest.

|Keisha's POV|

Keisha was on patrol with Brian. She was back in action after a days rest. She wasn't spending Christmas at home as everyone in the Hamsterly pack was on high alert after war was declared against them by the boulder pack. They hadn't seen any of the scouts on patrol they run into by the border. It proved that they were up to something but they couldn't decipher what it was. She also kept Will at the back of her mind as she did her daily rounds. She had a our of sadness around her and wasn't as enthusiastic as usual. She dragged her feet as she walked, was lazy to do things and Brian was just tolerating her and her mood but he might have just had enough.

"Oi, oi, oi, would you stop with all this sadness and gloominess I mean come on. You didn't go through what I and the others went through and their out there trying their best to get to the bottom of this and you were just kidnapped you didn't go through half of what we did and you're acting as if four of those wolves attacked you!!!" Brian shouted with a snarl-bark as he was pissed of by her.

"Don't come here and be shouting at me like that Brian. What happened to you guys passed to all of us so I don't get why you're on my case. Your brother was also affected and was worried that you would be badly beaten" Keisha snapped back Brian.

"So what he walked it of. You need to keep your emotions in check and stop being controlled by them. I'm sure you haven't checked up William, you do know his stomach was almost completely ripped open from Caleb's attack" Brian replied angrily.

"Wait what? He didn't say anything" she said shocked by his sentence.

"Why would he when just the news of us getting attacked made you line this so imagine if you heard that first? You would've killed yourself" Brian answered and walked away in anger.

She was now more depressed and angry with herself. She struck the snow angrily spraying snow everywhere. She split up with Brian and went to go eat. She tracked down some deer, killed it and ate it. She dinned alone without any of her friends. All she thought about was her fight with Brian and how William was doing. Once she finished her meal, a fox and some crows came and salvaged as much scrapes as they could. She walked around looking for Brian until she finally picked up his scent and followed it to find Brian laying in the snow next to stream that was surprisingly still flowing despite all the cold. The white wolf approached him as she was going to apologize. She stood next to him and spoke.

"Brian, I'm so sorry about what happened earlier. I would never allow my emotions get the better of me again" Keisha said with her head down in regret.

"Don't worry about it, I shouldn't have reacted like that" Brian quickly replied as he stood up, turned around and faced her.

"You shouldn't be to hard on yourself but I'm not the only one you need to talk to, you also need to check up on Will. He didn't want to talk to you when we came back cuz he needed to cool off but that didn't mean you couldn't come back when he had calmed down" Brian explained.

"Yh, I got that now. I'll message him when we get home" Keisha said with a little joy.

"That's nice, let's get back to what we were doing. Don't want to give any boulder wolf the chance to get in here" Brian said with a bit more seriousness in his voice.

"Yh, let's fix Keisha said as the both of them ran back to where they usually patrolled.

|Third Person POV|

William and his family were having a good time making a nice Christmas meal. He wondered what the wolves were doing, were they having a feast line his family or were they patrolling the forest cuz of that threat. Before he could get deeper into that thought, his dad snapped him back.

"Will, how about a friendly match with your dad like old times" Brody asked.

"I hope you haven't lost your skills old man" William said jokingly.

"I'm not that old baby boy" Brody said holding his son's head roughening his hair. His son ran upstairs getting his Xbox down and setting up for his game against his dad while they waited for the food to be ready.

"I hope you're ready to beaten" William said with joy.

"You're on son" Brody replied as he hoped on the couch.

"Let's do this" Brody said as they got ready to have a massive showdown.

William selected the FIFA CD in the Xbox and they chose their teams. Will chose Manchester United and his dad chose Liverpool.

"You still choosing that old club of yours that hasn't won any trophies in the past six years" Brody commented.

"Well they're my club, I love them and will support them through thick and thin" William said confidently.

"You guys shouldn't get into a fight over clubs now" Janet added.

"Yes mum" the two chorused before laughing it off as Brian called his wife mum.

They got down to business playing very well against eachother. William was surprised that his dad still got it and his dad was impressed with his performance as William was able to sneak a goal into his post and how well he had been defending against his attacks. His mum watched with interest and went to check on the food every now and then to make sure that it doesn't get burnt.

"Man, that was really tough" William said with a huge sigh.

"Well, I've got to commend you, you really held your own well against me" Brody said as they awaited their food.

Before William could reply their turkey showed up and the two of them started licking their lips.

"I've been waiting for this all day" Brody said rubbing his hands together.

"You guys should calm down, the rest of the food is coming" Janet said hurrying back to the kitchen before her to hungry wolves would finish the turkey before she gets back to the dinning. She rushed back and set the table.

"Merry Christmas everyone" Janet exclaimed.

"Merry Christmas to you mum" William answered.

"Merry Christmas to you all" Brody said before digging in.

Yesterday was a good day, they ate, had fun and spent some quality family time together. William woke up and rushed down stairs to open his gifts. He got down and found two guys waiting for him. He tore them open to find a hoverboard and two tickets to Manchester United's game on the third of January. He was filled with joy and ran bro his parents room and jumped on them.

"Thank you mum, thank you dad" William excliamed with joy.

"It's okay Willx Brody replied as they got up and went downstairs.

His mom got a cook book from Will and a new set of pots from Brody. Brody got a custom made shirt from Will and a new jacket from his wife. They were all happy and merry and William then remembered that he had gotten gifts for everyone in the pack and wanted to give it to them. Before he could even ask for permission from his parents, they rushed down to meet him.

"Will, get dressed, we're going to the Gatwick's" Brody said in a serious manner.

"What's wrong dad?" William asked curiously.

"I'll tell you on the way" Brody said before going back up the stairs.

William came down out of the car and his parents walked behind him. They were met by Eric and Brian by the stairs. Willi greeted them before going in to meet Connor. Before he could say a word, he was ambushed by Keisha with a hug.

"I'm so sorry Will that I didn't check on you. I hope you're okay" Keisha said as tears ran down her face.

"It's okay, I'm doing well. You don't need to cry" Will said wiping the years of her face. She embraced him for three more minutes before they went to the meeting area to be briefed. Will spoke with the rest of the pack before the meeting started.

"So, I called this meeting because Brian and I got a note from the boulder pack earlier today. It states, meet us in the plain on the thirtieth of December, it's time to settle this. The winner of the battle will get control of the forest and the loser will have to leave the forest" Eric stated. This made the whole room go silent for a while before Brody broke the silence.

"Well we all know what this means. We have to fight them and win. We have endured their rubbish for far to long. It's time the Hamsterly pack reclaims what's rightfully ours!" Brody said with a voice that stirred up the fighting spirit in everyone. It was inspirational and motivating and they were all ready to put everything on the line in this.

"This conflict would be deadly and could end in death, I hope you guys have counted the cost" Linda added.

"We have. I believe I don't speak for myself on this. It's about time we stop sharing and take the whole forest!" William excliamed and the others nodded with him.

"Then it's decided then, we shall go to war" Eric said.

They discussed battle plans extensively as Connor and Brody came up with tactics that could help them win. Janet and Miranda pitched in when necessary as they had the battle experience to back them up. While they deliberated, Brody trained the others in neat tricks that would help them take down the enemy wolves that they were going to encounter. Everyone was getting psyched about the idea in going all out in the final stand against the boulder wolves. The while atmosphere in the house was vibrant as they all prepared. The more experienced wolves knew the cost of war, the one thing the youngsters were about to learn although they were putting a lot of work into training and getting used to war tactics.

The day finally came and the Hamsterly wolves assembled themselves as they awaited their alpha. Brody and Janet joined them in the fight to make the fight more fair. Eric walked up confidently and his confidence rubbed off on his members as they gave a long howl before heading for the plain. They walked out from the tree line as they approached the oncoming boulder wolves. They stood right in front of eachother as they prepared to go all out in this war, one must emerge victorious as the other will leave the forest forever. Tension built up as the wolves started at one another picking out their targets and tried to intimidate one another. The two alphas were locked in a strong psychological battle as whoever wins could get the upper hand in the physical battle. The battle field was ready, the wolves had assembled themselves for a make it or break it moment in Hamsterly history. All that was needed was for one to engage and the war will begin.
