Chapter 82 - Starting of the Indigo League part 2
After all the cheering and applauding voices died down, Lance again raised the microphone near his mouth and looked towards the camera.
[This year thanks to the hard work of all the 8 gym leaders, our Indigo League has record breaking number of participants which is 1,000.]

Brock, Misty [Daisy, Violet and Lily], Surge, Erika, Koga [Janine], Sabrina, Blaine and Giovanni, all the three eight leaders of Kanto could be seen having different reactions listening to Lance words.
Misty was also considered the gym leader since she and her sister ran the gym together. Koga bought her daughter Janine since she was his future successor.

The number of trainers in all over the regions drastically increased after the new law was passed. Before rich parents wouldn't let their children become a Pokémon trainer because of the danger involved in it. But now that everyone could buy and sell Pokémon, the rich people instead of risking their life to capture Pokémon could just buy 3th and 4th order Pokémon for their children.

Two entry points from south and north direction, as the door opened one by one, trainers began to walk out from both sides. Seeing this the whole crowd stood up and began to applause and cheer loudly.

All the cameras were pointed towards the trainers who were walking in a line. Everyone was walking neither too slow or too fast.

Everyone in the stadium had someone they supported. Itsuki's parents also couldn't wait to find their son among the crowd. Both of them had stood and began to applause loudly.
Serena, Grace, Luna, Cooper also stood with happy smiles as their eyes began to search for Itsuki. Sabrina, Brock and Erika and few other gym leaders except for Giovanni who had his pride blocking him from standing up and applause with other gym leaders. Sabrina's eyes quickly moving from one person to another, as if she was searching for something dear to her.

Carolina and Shizuka stood up and both women began to search for their daughter and granddaughter.
Oak, Eva stood up with smiles on their faces. The smiles were obviously meant for Gray and Ash. Beside that Ash and Gary's mother stayed at home to watch the whole event. If only Ash knew what his mother does behind his back.

After 5 minutes all the participants had walked out and stood surrounding the stage which was located at the center of the battlefield.
"Where is my son?" Everyone whether it was Rui or Kagami or Serena or Grace or Luna or Sabrina they wanted to find Itsuki.

Itsuki on the other hand was standing in the middle among the crowd and looking at the center of the stage. For the first time in Itsuki life, he had ever met 2 elite four. In every region Elite Four are probably the most famous person and Kanto was no exception. Ever since Itsuki was little he always has seen elite four battles. For a childhood Itsuki had a dream of becoming strong enough to defeat the elite four of Kanto.

[Since this time the number of participants is too many compared to last time. This time all the trainers would have to go through elimination process.] Lance said as thousands of pictures appeared in the 50 meters big screen.
[Each trainer has been given a certain number before the Indigo League. All the 1,000 participants will be divided into two groups according to their number. Group A will have participants from 1 to 500 and group B will be of 501 to 100.]

Different numbers began to appear on the top right side of participants' pictures to let all the audience knows what number their favorite participant will get.
[The elimination process will be continuing till only 100 participants are left. Two group's participants will fight anyone in their group using only one Pokémon. But it is absolutely forbidden to form team to defeat a trainer. Whoever violets their rule will be disqualified and banned from ever entering the Indigo League. Also if a trainer wins ten consecutive matches then the trainer will be selected for the next round automatically.]

[The whole process will be seen by eight gym leaders along with 100 others Police and Association members.]
[Group A division elimination round will start now. Group B participants please go back and wait for your turns.] Lorelei said. After that all the participants of group B began to walk away. Itsuki was also shocked when he found his number was 1,000, directly at the bottom.

Some worker with the help of Pokémon quickly moved away the stage which was nothing but a platform built 10 meters above the ground and luxury stairs.
The screen also changed and only showed 500 participants of group A pictures and numbers. Kagami, Rui, Luna, Sabrina, Serena was little disappointed to not find Itsuki.

After the entire battlefield was cleared, all the trainers took their position and randomly found a opponent for themselves. The whole battlefield was massive enough to let 500 trainers fight at the same time. This whole scene looked like some kind of battlefield. Nurse Joy clan members were standing nearby, ready to perform emergency treatment to the injured Pokémon and also help the Pokémon for the next battle.

All the eight gym leaders came down. There was about 80 police officers from Jenney clan and 10 members from Pokémon Association. Professor Oak was one of them. They acted as the referee for this massive battle and make sure nothing goes out of order.
Also more than 20 cameras were recording and live broadcasting the entire Indigo League to inside and outside of Kanto region.

[Battle began] said the announcer. Lance and Lorelei didn't do the commentary job instead it was a male and female who was professional commentators. [This year we seem to a heat of rivalry. I can feel the high temperature just looking at the battlefield.]

"Pikachu, use thunderbolt] Ash was a part of group A. Ash randomly chooses a weak opponent to start. Since the elimination round will end when only 100 trainers are left, only 50 trainers from each division could go to the next round. Meaning the fight will only end when only 50 trainers are left.
Ash had two choices either last long enough for till only 50 trainers are left or win 10 matches without losing a single match to qualify for the next round.

Boom! Pikachu's first thunderbolt attack was enough to defeat a peak 3rd order Pokémon.
"Humph! Weakling" Ash snorted and looked at the trainer in disdain.
"I don't know why these weak assholes even want to participate in such major and grand tournament like the Indigo League." Ash was right. Even though there was 1,000 participants in the Kanto League, but almost 90 percent trainers didn't had that strong Pokémon to begin with.

One had to know that raising a Pokémon to Peak 4th order was extremely hard. Normally an average Pokémon with constant regular training takes about a year or two just to reach peak 4th order. Even Itsuki with his knowledge and synthesis training plan that the system made took him almost a month just to get his Zera to peak 4th order. Not to mention weak and lazy trainers who don't even train their Pokémon once an entire month and keep complaining that their Pokémon is a weak Pokémon.

"No way, I lose this fast." The female trainer who had just lost to Ash in a single attack from Pikachu just couldn't believe it. She was confident that she would at least survive the elimination round. "I was hoping I would stand the elimination round."
Ash hearing the girl's words rolled his eyes at her and replied with a tone of ridicule. "Next time don't come to join a League if you don't have 4th order Pokémon. Now get out of here bitch." The girl obviously looked sad and angry hearing Ash words.

[Please don't keep standing there.] The police who was currently acting as a referee politely said. The girl recalled her Pokémon and made her way to the exit. No one really paid attention to the girl. As long as the girl lost, her image and number was removed from the screen.
