Chapter 10

Everyone seemed to be having a great time. It was nice and all getting to know one another but one person was staying focused on the main reason why they were there. He was currently on the roof while looking around for anything unusual. He didn't mind his friends having fun but someone had to stay focused on the mission. As he was sitting with his feet now dangling off the edge of the roof. He nearly had a heart attack when he heard something behind him. Turning around he saw nothing which caused him to panic more. It wasn't long until he breathed out in relief when he saw a figure his partner appearing.

"Didn't mean to scare you. I wanted to check on you but couldn't come up with the right way of approaching you without seeming odd for being on the roof."

Letting out a sigh, he placed his hand over his chest letting his heart recover. "I'm fine, how did you get up here?" He asked.

She held up her hand and formed a force field.

"These things are really useful for many things you know."

As she sat down he scooted away from her as they both looked down at their friends having fun. "So why are you not joining them?"

"It's as if they totally forgot why we are here. What if something bad happens and they are too intoxicated to focus?"

"It's alright, no one is really getting drunk and if they are it'll wear off in a few hours. Why don't you join them. We can follow through with the mission later tonight. Why don't we join them down there. We look pretty weird up here don't you think?" She teased.

He softly chuckled as he stood on his feet. "Yeah I guess." He said in defeat.

He held out his hand and helped her on her feet as well.

"So how we getting down Sherlock?" She asked while placing her hands on her hips.

Going along with her sassiness he added onto it. "You didn't have to come up here with me. That's on you."

The two laughed off there little bickering session and looked down at the ground far below them.

"I don't know about you but I can fly what about you?"

"Uhh I think if I aim just right I can use my forcefield to bounce and scare the shit out of the group near the bonfire." Amber said while pointing at the group laughing down below.

"You know that would be interesting to see but to prevent you from probably hitting the bonfire, I'll just help you... For now."

"Aww how sweet I didn't know it was such a burden to help me, I guess I owe you since your helping me out this ONE time."

"You know if I didn't know better, you were the girl I've been looking for in life."

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I don't know, it just seems that no girls I ever meet get me. But when I talk to you I feel like I can be myself without being judged. It's really nice."

Amber blushed while placing both her hands together in a cute-but-shy manner. "I feel the same why Kite."

The two didn't know what to say at that point. Since they were partners they didn't know how they could progress, they both knew for sure they would be great friends. They knew they had to stay focused on their partnership and not focus on anything other then working together against crime.

"So... What's the plan you going to hold my hand or something?" She asked while holding her hand out.

"Really? If I grab your hand and fly down that would be pretty hard on your arm.. why don't I do this instead." He said while wrapping his arm around her waist and held her tight, he didn't give her enough time to react before he jumped off which caused her to scream. As he slowly guided down and landed, she smacked his chest while laughing.

"You could have warned me! You scared me!"

He chuckled softly while making a little comeback.

"Just think of it for the little scare you pulled earlier on me."

As the two made their way to the group they both were thinking the same thing.

Damn, I'm happy I have such an awesome partner.
