Chapter 29

As Mysterion was being dragged to the room with the other heroes kept hostage, that was the moment the ship lost control and began moving quite rough. The alien holding him lost balance and fell against the wall, Mysterion took this moment and slid on the ground and pushed off and landed a solid foot plant in the aliens face, smashing against the wall.

He had little time to fix his footing as the ship flung the opposite way, he quickly acted and saved the landing by doing a barrel roll. Back on his feet he saw all the heroes in human sized jars in a pink liquid. Mysterion knew it was risky but he didn't have time. Finding the first metal pipe, he gripped tightly as he swung at the closest tank. Using all his strength, he didn't stop until all the tanks were completely destroyed with gasping heroes on the ground. The room filled with harsh coughs and gasps.

At that moment the door opened and the goth hero showed her face with the first smile she showed.

"Everyone is here. We all need to drink from this. I saw the aliens leaving in escape pods. I'll lead everyone there but we need to take a sip from this now before we run out of time."

She passed the beaker to each hero, they didn't care how risky this was. They were desperate for the smallest chance of having no more powers. As she handed the beaker to the last one being Mysterion, she took a sip herself seeing a small remaining.

"Wait, where is Toolshed and Canvas?" Kite asked while looking around.

That's when it dawned on Mysterion, the others that were also on the ship.

"Vision, take everyone to the escape pods, I need to give this to the rest."

"Are you sure you don't need help?" She asked.

"Yes, please I have to do this alone."

"Alright, be careful." She said while waving everyone her direction leading to the exit.

As Mysterion was running with the beaker close to his chest as he didn't dare take the chance to drop the cure for his friends. Unfortunately, the ship shook violently again then jerked to the side causing him to ram into the wall. The beaker still close to his chest, he groaned out in pain as he felt the serum slowly having an effect as the pain was only getting worse instead of healing by itself.

He tried forcing himself up but not before he heard something loud coming toward him. Looking up he saw a heavy steel device double his size sliding at a quick speed as gravity was getting the best of the equipment in the room. His eyes grew wide was he had no time to react. He knew he was going to die and along with it, the serum would be destroyed. His emotions getting the best of him as a tear shed from his eye. He closed his eyes while imaging her face, her brown eyes and brown hair. The last time they spoke, he didn't get the chance to tell her how he felt. He felt more alive than ever. The fact he couldn't save her like he promised hurt him more then the pain this block of steel would have on him in any second now. He wasn't scared of death so much as knowing it was his own curse that cursed all the remaining to their own deaths.
