Introduction

Li Xin pulled out his card that contained his characters and the other students did the same thing. However, before putting it into the card reader that verifies it's your authentic account, he stared at it for a long while.

The feeling of holding a card made him reminisce about his championship days.

"Hey, Li Xin!" Dong Hai called out as he shook Li Xin's shoulder. "What's so interesting on your card? Hurry up and plug it in, the match is going to start soon. I hope you're ready."

"Ah, right." Li Xin muttered as he plugs his card into the card reader. Within a few seconds, Pure Aim loaded up on the computer screen.

Li Xin's name in the game was -Lancer- since his character used the spear as its weapon and because his class was literally called Lancer.

"Students! The private match code is written on the board so all you have to do is put in the code at the top left corner and you'll be in it. Also students, it's a five against five match so don't go out on your own. Rely on your teammates and help each other." the professor explained. "Su Mingyu and I will be spectating the match to see who deserves to go up a rank. Best of luck to all of you!"

Things were already tense before, however, having the Tactical Goddess and the professor spectating them made them even more nervous for the match.

The weight on their back suddenly felt heavier.

Li Xin could care less about the two spectating him during a match, after all, he's played in front of tens of thousands people. Something like this wouldn't even leave a scratch at his mentality.

But there was another problem, Li Xin had no chemistry with his teammates and his teammates had no chemistry with him. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem considering he mostly played by himself in team versus team fights, but playing as a team was required to rank up.

Li Xin decided to speak up. "While we still have time, why don't we introduce each other?"

One of the students looked at him and replied, "The four of us are already familiar with each other."

Li Xin stared at him blankly. "So…? I'm not familiar with any of you. I at least need to know your names in order to properly work as a team."

"I get it, you don't have to be rude about it." he replied. "I'm Bing Qiling and I play as a Knight."

"Huh? Ice cream?"*

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing, I'm Li Xin. You guys can continue."

Next, a girl with pastel hair spoke. "I'm Xiao Hua, I play as a BattleMage."

Li Xin nodded. "I see. The same as Su Mingyu."

"She's the reason I chose BattleMage since I admire her quite a lot."

And then the next one came.

"I'm Tong Guo, I play as a Tank because it suits me the best." Tong Guo said as he held out his hand.

While Li Xin was shaking Tong Guo's hand, he felt as if Tong Guo's grip was a bit too strong. When they parted, Li Xin's hand was red and hurted a bit.

'This guy…he's all brawn and no brain isn't he?' Li Xin questioned in his mind.

And for the final teammate, it was a girl with long black hair with a serious look on her face.

"I'm Ru Shi and my class is Necromancer." she said before heading towards her seat.

Li Xin didn't even get a chance to say anything since Ru Shi walked away instantly after she introduced herself. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"A female Necromancer."

Li Xin instantly recognized who it was and asked, "A-Dong, what is it? What about a female Necromancer?"

"Nothing, it's just that not a lot of people pick Necromancer as a class since it uses up their Mana quickly. A female using Necromancer is even rarer." Dong Hai replied.

"So she must be good right?" Li Xin asked.

"Let's hope so." Dong Hai said before heading back to where the professor and Su Mingyu were.

By the time Li Xin finished talking, his teammates had entered the private lobby and were already preparing for the match. He quickly did the same and put on the headset.

"Hello? Testing, testing."

"Hello." Li Xin said after hearing Bing Qiling's voice in his headphones. The other three did the same.

In a five on five match, communication is one of the most important things in order to win. If someone needs help, that person can easily speak through the microphone and tell their teammates to come over. Of course there are many other things communication is used for other than calling for help, that was one of the many examples.

Li Xin noticed that the other team's characters were hidden from them. Normally, it would be shown but perhaps because it was a test that it was hidden from them.

Li Xin smiled since he knew what the professor was trying to do. He wanted to hide what their characters were until the match to see how they would adapt.

'Not bad.' Li Xin thought stretched his arms before placing his hands on the keyboard and mouse.

A few moments later, the screen changed and a robotic voice spoke to them.

Only when the match started was when Li Xin noticed his teammate's names.

Xiao Hua was Pastel, Ru Shi was MissDeath, Tong Guo was iTankEverything which made Li Xin cringe. However, after reading Bing Qiling's username, he nearly vomited. It was KnightInShiningArmor since he was literally a knight.

"I'll take the front line along with Bing Qiling and Tong Guo. Xiao Hua, why don't you take the middle line and Ru Shi can take the back line. How about it?" Li Xin suggested.

The others agreed with the idea and got into formation. Everything seemed to be fine, for now.

Su Mingyu smiled. "This will be an interesting matchup."

The professor was surprised and asked, "How so?"

"The leader of their team is a solo player, I could tell from the start." Su Mingyu replied.

"But how will that make it interesting?"

"Because their opponents are people who play the best as a team. Nonetheless, we won't see who's better until the match is finished."

Su Mingyu clicked her mouse and started spectating one of the players.

"Let's see how you do, MasterOfSwords."
