Chapter 54 - ‘Last Edge’

"Where did he go? I couldn't find him anywhere." Tomura stood on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the camp using a binocular looking for a certain person.

"I overheard that he disappeared alongside a few girls." A weird-looking head made of dirt came out from the ground, reporting what he had gathered from eavesdropping from inside the ground.

"What? Are they eloping or what?" Tomura raised his eyebrows, quite surprised hearing the report.

"I'm not sure, but I got some weird information about Yacht owned by him being parked on the sea not far away from here." The head reported. "But unfortunately I can't confirm the validity."

Tomura couldn't believe what he just heard, a teenage student owning a yacht or that he was allowed to bring it anywhere near the camp because he knew well how protective the heroes that were in charge of them.

Even their informant wasn't allowed to bring anything other than his clothes and the suitcase to store the clothes. For him to be allowed to park a yacht near the camp, he couldn't imagine how annoying it was to receive a pass.

"Anything else?" Tomura dropped his binoculars as he had observed everything he needed.

"Other than the students training as usual, there's nothing worth noting." The head spoke.

Seeing that the head had no reports left, Tomura told him to leave as he called for Dabi who was enjoying the breeze.

"Bring the fodders here, I want to test their strength." Tomura decided to sacrifice the few fodders he had gained from giving street thugs a few of his monster cells.

He wanted to prevent those pesky heroes and students from helping Kenjiki whenever he decided to finally appear once again because most of them were just annoying to deal with, especially Eraser Head who could erase his quirk in the middle of the fight.

"Also, get someone to investigate the yacht." Tomura gave the last command as he sat down on the ledge.

Dabi being Dabi just nodded and walked away.

"How strong is that guy to warrant master to tell me to go all out?" Tomura pondered, although he knew Kenjiki was strong but not to what extent.

Even after watching the sports festival multiple times he still didn't understand his master's urgency because Kenjiki looked just as strong as the top-scoring students and not one that could make the creator of Nomu this wary.

What's more, Kenjiki disappeared when Nomu attacked the sports festival, and he was nowhere to be seen and even seemingly scared of it.

"Though sending this much is overkill, it's better than having to disobey master's words." Tomura bit his nails as he felt the vibrations behind him. "Your objective is to immobilize every one each of them before they could call for reinforcement. Killing is allowed, but it'd be better if you bring a strong quirk back."

*HOOOWL!*

This howl alerted everyone in the camp as the howl didn't sound like the normal wolf howl that had been a staple of their life here in the camp. Aizawa was the first one to react and announced from the watch for everyone to evacuate for safety before engaging with whatever that howl was about.

"Not another monster attack." Aizawa groaned as he ran towards the place where he told the students to gather. "We should definitely end this thing after the danger has been taken care of."

In the announcement he made, Aizawa clearly stated that the students shall not engage in a fight unless they are cornered. Because he remembered the last time he had made a blunder of a decision to let the students fight just because Kenjiki said so.

"Where's that brat now?" Aizawa opened his watch as he ran looking for Kenjiki's contact he saved for this occasion. "Where are you brats right now?"

Aizawa asked the moment the call was picked up, but what he heard was a woman chuckling after hearing him shouting through the watch.

"[He's resting at the moment, so he couldn't help with anything. If you want to deal with the monsters Shigaraki let loose, I've given the teacher permission to a prototype weapon.]" Nagant said, at the same time Aizawa felt his wrist vibrating. "[It's quite strong, so beware of friendly fire.]"

"Hey!" Aizawa shouted just as he realized the call had ended. "Was that Lady Nagant?"

Not wanting to think about the implication of Kenjiki resting and his watch being with her. Aizawa sped up his pace and looked at the new feature his watch had, which previously was never there.

It was something called 'Last Edge', which was a very vague name for something that supposedly is strong. But rather than trying to use it now, Aizawa focused more of his attention on maneuvering through the forest until he arrived at the destination where fights had already broken out.

Where the teachers were each surrounded by monsters from all sides. with some of the unlucky students who came face to face with the monsters the moment they stepped on the field.

Rather than helping the teachers. Aizawa focused more on helping the students to get away from the monsters by binding their bodies and letting the students slip away. Once no students were in imminent danger, he went to help the teachers but was stopped in his way by the monsters he just attacked.

"Ain't this Eraser Head." One of the monsters laughed when they recognized who attacked them.

"It is my lucky day." A werewolf grinned as he walked in front of him. Baring all four of his hands which were armed with sharp claws.

Aizawa stared at the four-armed werewolf and the other monsters that went to surround him as they did with the other teachers to keep them occupied. They glared at each other waiting for the other person to attack, until Aizawa tightened the knot on his nose to prevent the werewolf's breath from coming in.

This action, in return, made the werewolf tilt as it was its first time being indirectly told that his breath stink. The werewolf told the other monsters to go away and kill someone else while he dealt with Aizawa.

Of course, the others were reluctant to do as he told them because the credit would only go to him and him only. But he didn't care about their reluctance and just threatened to kill them, which instantly made any of them back down knowing just how strong he was.

"It'd be better for you to surrender now." The werewolf clenched four of his arms, glaring down at Aizawa.

"Yeah, no. I can't do that." Aizawa, knowing how disadvantageous he was, made the first move and restrained the legs as leaped upwards over the werewolf.

The werewolf just gave him a glance letting him execute that little plan of his, utterly confident in his own strength. What came next was the restraint extending upwards over the shoulder and coiled around the neck.

But as Aizawa pulled the restraint tighter, he noticed that his big target suddenly disappeared followed by a voice from behind his back.

"Is that all? It seems that the info about you lacking lethal attack was true." The werewolf scoffed and interlocked his hands before slamming down on Aizawa's back.

*boom!!*

The ground exploded, leaving a shallow hole with Aizawa sleeping in it. The collision was enough to immobilize him instantly due to the fact that he was caught off guard

"I'm not done, Buddy." The werewolf picked the body from the ground and dangled the body in front of his mouth. "Do you like the smell of my breath?"

"That cracked just the right bone." Aizawa mumbled as he suddenly disappeared, surprising the werewolf as he couldn't see the movement. "Teaching kids took quite the toll on anybody."

Aizawa stood not too far away from the werewolf, stretching his body that was just freshened thanks to the massage given by the werewolf.

Taking advantage of the werewolf's confusion, Aizawa used the watch to activate the weapon that he received from Nagant. Because while he was fast enough to take him by surprise, he didn't have enough firepower to deal any damage as he specialized in subduing villains.

But to his surprise, nothing happened. Not as much as he expected the watch to become a gun that he could or at least a dagger. Although, he weirdly felt that his body had gotten better than before and that he could see a nigh-invisible aura coating his scarf.

"Was I scammed by her?" Aizawa complained but couldn't stop the attack and continued swinging his scarf made of steel wire.

Weirdly, he didn't receive any feedback from his swing as if it had just passed through the air. Aizawa instantly became alert as he expected that the werewolf had dodged the attack, only to be surprised when he saw the monster's body being split into two diagonally.

"What did you do!?" The werewolf uttered its last words as the body slammed onto the ground.
