WHEN LOVE CRAWLS

Imaginary feelings were suppose to stay hidden, Love was suppose to stay buried. It burns out the dominant monstrous feelings, and cling onto the slight humanity hidden in the shadow.

Love is a fearsome feeling that has made a hero trampled— a warrior conquered— an eloquent shivered— Achilles killed. That feeling called love comes with nothing but disaster— and cries from the weak. Love isn't an awesome feeling, it is sadness in disguise.

Alex was pondering on the feeling he thought was the best of it all. Drowning in his one sided love— flying high with imaginations that she was soon going to be his. That was all Love have installed— Nothing but thought upon thought!

Alex trailed the path that led straight to the stadium. He knew Heather would be there— sitting patiently and watching her boyfriend jag and burn out some calories... But Alex could sense some emptiness in her. She had changed this past one week— it was like she was putting up a charade. Pretending to be in love for some reason. Alex just didn't understand what was happening, but he could sense it— that something was wrong.

As he drifted unnoticed towards the stadium, he just couldn't help it but listen to some strange voices that waves past his ear. The voice was so familiar— a male and a female. The familiarity of the voice and the party involved had caught his attention.

Instantly he moved towards where the signal was coming from. He was just so invisible; like a ghost— cornering the stadium and moving towards the forest behind the stadium.

Disturbing sound began to burst out from somewhere in the forest. Alex listened carefully from where he was standing— it was the sound of a girl.... Moaning for pleasure. Chanting a name inaudibly... Screaming in satisfaction.

"Shk.... Tsh... She is waiting—" the ladies voice came amidst pleasure "stop it— will you!" She added

Alex wondered who was waiting— but the familiarity in the male voice was what caught his attention the most. Instantly something prompt up into his mind— this was the opportunity he had been waiting for... A Golden opportunity! And he wasn't ready to slack.

So he jumped out of the forest looking for something to capture the scene— cause that will be an evidence to hold unto. Suddenly he saw a chubby teenager with an headset covering his ears and a smartphone in his hand.

Instantly, Alex drifted towards the chubby guy unnoticed. Circling him like a tornado— cooing into his ears like a ghost... Well, a vampire is a living dead!

Alex took the smartphone from him in a seconds and head back to the forest. He captured the scene of a broken heart— the scene of a boyfriend with a best friend making out in the woods. He head back to the stadium to see Heather— who was apparently still waiting for her boyfriend to come out of the dressing room.

"Hi" Alex appeared to her from behind, thereby startling her.

"Oh... Shit! You scared the hell out of me" she screamed "there was nobody behind me when I settled in"

"Oh! There was really no one behind you—" Alex said, but the look on her face shows that she demands an explanation.

"—I was joking....." He fit in instantly. Alex doesn't have an explanation for appearing from behind— he was just too lazy to go through the front... So he flew like a bat and appeared from behind.

"...but why are you seated alone? What about your friend?" Alex said, settling in beside her.

"Suzy said she has something to pick in class— while Rory is probably having a chat with the coach in the locker room"

Alex saw that she was so unsure— but he wasn't sure whether it would be right to show her the true color of the people surrounding her. Alex wasn't ready to break her heart— he wasn't ready to watch her weep.

"Ain't that the coach on a phone call?" Alex pointed to a man wearing a tracksuit standing some kilometers away.

Heather strain her eyes to get the perfect picture of the man standing so far away.

"Yea— I think that is the coach... So where the hell is Rory?"

Alex suddenly realize this is the perfect time to show her the evidence— to let her know that she has been a fool all along.

"—speaking of Rory! Do you love him?" Alex inserted quickly.

Heather jerked at the question— it was like she hasn't expected it. She suddenly became so uncomfortable and her body movement said it all. She wasn't happy in the relationship— Alex could hear her heart bleeding. It was like the whole relationship is a charade.

"Something in me can't just stop pounding so hard. I guess that is my heart— pounding like it won't stop— hitting me so hard and making me uncomfortable when I see you—" Alex was ready to confess his feelings for her. He wasn't ready to hide it anymore— he just couldn't take it!

"I have a confession" he added

Heather heart doubled it race. It was like she already knew what Alex wanted to say. Her feelings were ranging and Alex didn't understand what her response would be.... So he decided to thread slowly.

"I....I...." Alex began, stammering. And Heather heart had began to triple it race again.

".... I don't play gridiron, I lied to you"

Heather heaved instantly. Her racing heart began to slow down gradually and it returned to its normal and steady flow. Alex could see signs of relief on her face— but he wasn't so sure whether the signs were relief or otherwise.

"I knew it! I know you don't play gridiron— but why did you have to lie about it?" Heather asked

"—cause that is the only way I can see you everyday" Alex said, sharply and Heather was so dumbfounded— She hadn't expected that kind of reply.

"I like you Heather.... I can't hide the feelings anymore—"

Heather sat still— she was just so short of words. She wasn't sure what she needed right now but a new boyfriend was definitely not part of it. Alex confession was great— but she has her battle to fight— A lot of challenges to overcome.

So Heather wasn't sure of the response to give Alex. She was now getting so fond of his presence and wasn't ready to lose a friend but she doesn't know what to say.

"So sorry for keeping you waiting... Hope you ain't bored?" Suzy asked, appearing so disheveled and bringing Heather back from her deep thought.

"Nah, Alex covered every loophole" Heather replied "— but why are dry leaves hanging on your hair?" Heather observed her appearance which was kinda different from earlier.

"Oh! Leaves!" Suzy said, brushing her hair with her hands to remove the leaves. "The wind must have blew it there"

Alex smiled. He just doesn't like backbiting— toiling with a friend feelings— cheating with a friend boyfriend. Alex suddenly sighted Rory running towards his teammates.

"Crazy bastard" he murmured to himself

Suddenly a voice erupt from the field. It was Fergus, the chubby teenage Alex had stolen his phone. He began to create a scene—

"Hear my fellow students! The savior is real— he just appeared to me. He took my phone and whispered some murmuring to my ears. Repent your ways— For the second coming of Christ is on the way—"

Alex tries his possible best to control the laughter that erupt in him. 'The second coming of Christ???'. Alex now see reason why they have been restricted from using their powers. It makes the humans feel disturbed— making them a psychic— making them lose their mind.

"That guy is just so insane" Suzy said.

The conversation wasn't of much interest to Heather— she just can't stop thinking about Alex confession. Truly! She likes him also.... But a lot is currently at stake and its beyond her powers. So Heather tries to steal a glance at Alex but to her surprise, her eyes met with his. He had been staring at her and awaiting a positive reply from her. So for now, guess they were still friends... But he wanted more— he quench for more from her... He wants to be her lover!

So Alex brought out the phone which had been in his pocket all this while— He then delete the video he recorded. There are thousand ways to get a girl but orchestrating her breakup just because he was interested in her wasn't a way he would consider any longer. So Alex was ready to wait patiently for her to see the truth and make her own decision.
