As I quickly dried myself off, I stepped out of the bathroom, wearing a fresh set of clothes. Aryan was waiting anxiously, and I could tell that something was bothering him.
I walked up to him and said, "Okay, Aryan, what's the matter? You seem really concerned about something."
He took a deep breath and said, "Sonakshi, last night when you were drunk, you said some things that made me question our relationship. You mentioned wanting to be with Rithik and working with him. Is there something going on between you two?"
I paused for a moment, trying to gather my thoughts. I hadn't realized that my words might have given Aryan the wrong impression. I took his hands in mine and said, "Aryan, I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea. Rithik and I have been best friends since childhood, and he offered me a great opportunity to work with him. But that doesn't mean I want to be with him romantically. I love you, Aryan, and I want to be with you."
Aryan looked relieved but still a bit skeptical. He said, "I trust you, Sonakshi, but seeing you with Rithik last night and hearing your words, it made me feel insecure. I don't want to lose you."
I hugged him tightly and reassured him, "Aryan, you are the one I want to be with. Rithik is just a dear friend, and this job opportunity is separate from our relationship. Please trust me and believe in us."
Aryan nodded, and a smile slowly formed on his face. "I do trust you, Sonakshi. I'm sorry for doubting you. Let's talk more about this job opportunity and figure out what's best for both of us."
Relieved that he understood, I kissed him gently on the cheek and said, "Thank you, Aryan, for being understanding. We'll discuss everything openly and find a solution together. Now, let's have breakfast and start the day on a positive note."
We sat down at the dining table, deep in conversation about our future, careers, and aspirations. Although there were bumps along the way, we were determined to navigate through them as a team. The dramas in my life had brought unexpected twists and turns, but they had also taught me the value of trust, communication, and the strength of true friendship. And with Aryan by my side, I knew we could overcome any challenges that came our way.
