A delicate balance 1.29 - ING. VERSIÓN

The following week, Viggo went to the Hera family's grounds. At that moment, Viggo was holding Kain's hand while Ottar was holding the other hand. Unlike Ottar, who enjoyed going hand in hand with Kain as if he were a baby (that's how Viggo saw him), Viggo found it annoying; he was already big for those things, he weighed in. However, traveling that way along Orario, made him remember the past. Those moments when he was someone happy and carefree. Before he was pitifully defeated by Ottar. Before he in his frustration and misery, yelled at Ottar that Kain would never be his father no matter how much he wanted him. That they threw him in the trash and thanks to that, he would always be trash.

Viggo went hand in hand with his father, remembering the old days. The sun in the sky was brighter than ever, the morning breeze was pleasant, and the day portended surprises. Viggo watched Ottar move forward on the other side with a big smile on his lips. Viggo had to admit that Ottar was very happy with his father, even more so than himself. Then he looked forward at the large metal gate at the Hera family entrance and spotted the large trees that stood behind the great concrete walls. Far beyond, you could see the top of a white mansion, more like a castle than a house. At the same time, Viggo wondered if fate was wrong. If Ottar had been born as his father's son, he would have been a better son. Maybe fate was crazy or it was just an invention of the gods, as his master always said.

Viggo smiled as he remembered his grumpy teacher and let out a small chuckle.

-Tell us the joke, Viggo- Kain said, looking forward. Ottar on the other side looked at Viggo curiously without ever stopping his advance, his small bear ears were standing in an attentive attitude.

Viggo raised his face and looked at the tall white-haired elf, who was also his father. He squeezed his hand in a soft gesture and said -I don't laugh at any jokes, father. I just remembered something my master told me-

-What would it be?- asked Kain casually.

-That fate is another lie of the gods-

-Lie, lie, it's not- Kain replied. They arrived in front of the Big Gate of the Hera family and the guards standing on the sides of the gate, bowed -good morning- Kain said in a firm voice and the 10 guards responded in chorus "good morning". Hera, the owner of the family, was one of Kain's wives and it was an obligation to respect him as she was. At least, that had been the goddess's indication, disrespect would have serious consequences.

For their part, one guard opened the padlock that held the chain and two other guards pushed the large gate back. The gate opened letting out a squeak. Kain said goodbye to the guards and moved forward with Viggo and Ottar in each hand.

Once they were five meters away from the guards, Kain continued –fate is the sum of a set of events. However, it is not something that is 100% impassable. To change the fate, knowledge and action are needed. Know what to maintain, what to interrupt and what to change-

hear Viggo in his mind, as if listening to his master's thick voice.

-It's a delicate balance- Kain said.

Viggo covered his mouth and laughed out loud. Ottar on the other side stared at him and Kain stopped to look at him. Curiosity and fun were expressed in its fine elven features. Viggo kept laughing, but stopped when he noticed the weightlessness. Then he looked at his father and realized that he was carrying him on his right arm. Kain crooked on the other side and took Ottar on his left arm. Then he kept walking like nothing and Viggo just smiled.

-What are you laughing at so much, boy?- asked Kain with a smile on his lips.

-My master always says that, the balance. For him, everything is to find the balance between action and knowledge-

-Well, your master is very right. Everything is a balance. The overflow to one side can spoil what you are trying to do-

-Father, is it really about fate?-

-Serious, serious- Kain said, looking forward. You could see a cobbled path with a grove on each side –fate is not something that the gods invented, it is just something that they with their vast knowledge, take advantage of. Just as a veteran merchant knows how to take advantage of the needs of each season. Destiny is a logical event that occurs after you have done certain actions. Rather, to every action, there is a reaction. It's like lighting a candle. First you light the wick, which would symbolize the action and then, naturally and organically, fate occurs. Which, in this case, would be the candle melting, releasing wax and spreading to the sides, widening the base. The candle is consumed and eventually goes out. The only difference we could make is to see if it shuts down sooner or later. Dramatically, slowly and stormyly or in one fell swoop-

-That means that all things will come to an end, no matter what we do-

Kain stopped, put on a serious face, and looked at his eyes. He nodded several times and kissed his forehead as a consolation. Then he kisses Ottar's forehead and continue walking –everything must take its course, Viggo. The world, society, and universe get sick when things get stuck. The earth is filled with vices, at the same time that monsters are born and increase bringing misfortune to the weak. There is no rest for anyone, even for the person who wanted to leave the world stagnant at that point. You can only see how everything is deteriorating, day by day, call evolution the corruption that is happening naturally. However, no matter how hard he tries, or the kind of vampire empire he believes, he will never have peace until all things resume their natural cycle-

Viggo always looked at Kain and could see a kind of sadness in his gaze. Perhaps, what did he know or who he knew that he thinks that way, Viggo thought. It seems that that person who created that Vampire Empire, whatever it means, was someone miserable.

Once Kain and the children looked forward, they spotted the Hera family's large mansion, which looked more like a castle than a house. Four stories high and more than a thousand meters wide, made of solid rock and medieval architecture. Large windows on each of the floors and a huge double door at the base. Before the mansion there was a large circular square and around it there were several paths and buildings. Mostly, they were the food cellars and dormitories for all those who were external to the family and only provided their services. They looked adventurous moving in the direction of Kain and the children. Others who were going along a cobbled road to the West, to the training camps. Others gathered in groups and talking in the middle of the square.

Kain lowered the children, and they took him by the hand. Then they kept walking, going through the square and arriving in front of the big door of the Hera family mansion. Both doors looked sturdy and firm, each more than 3 meters high and two meters wide. Each had a large aldaba on its forehead hanging from what was the head of a bouquet of flowers made of bronze.

On one side of the door, there were three men chatting, all tall and athletic. They dressed like average adventurers; shirt, pants and boots. Two of them blonde and one with black hair.

-What are they up to?- asked Kain as he saw them talking.

The blonde with a fearless smile turned first, it was Jason -old men- he said in a happy tone of voice -we were waiting for you-

-Idiot, he said to wait for him today- replied the dark-haired man, who was Odysseus. He wore short hair and a padlock beard.

-Don't worry about the little things- Jason said in an easy, joking tone.

-Good morning, máster- said the other blond, who was Achilles. His hair was straight to his shoulders. His kind appearance and attractive face made him a favorite of girls. Much more than the ever-chatty, Jason.

-Hello everyone. Brother Jason, always so joking- Viggo said with a smile

Jason showed a wide smile and full of joy –Oh, little brother, so long without seeing the great Viggo– he said

-Brother, don't call me that- replied Viggo embarrassedly.

-Why? Sounds great- Jason said with a mocking smile.

-Don't bother him- said Odysseus, the man with dark hair and a padlock beard. He patted Jason on the head and walked over to Viggo -how have you been, little brother?- he asked with sincere concern in his gaze.

Viggo had a hard time looking him in the eye, but he smiled at the end and said -well, I think good. I've improved, I'm better-

-That's the idea- said Odysseus and raised his fist. Viggo raised his fist and bumped him into the Odysseus.

-It's good that you're back, Viggo- said Achilles, he also came over and offered his fist. Viggo bumped fists with him and then they went with Ottar and greeted him in the same way.

-Sorry, little brother- Jason said with an uncomfortable smile as he scratched his head.

-Okay- Viggo said -I don't get angry, it's just that I don't like to be called "The Great Viggo." Sounds silly like my attitude at the time-

Jason came up to Viggo and crooked down a little bit to make his eyes match -you're wrong, little brother– he said in soft tone –saying that name, calling yourself the "Great Viggo", does two things. First, it gives you power over your past. Second, it allows you to laugh at your own mistakes and what you did in the past, so that it's not a burden for the future. So, laugh at your own mistakes, look for the previous Viggo and laugh at what he did. That way, you'll be able to remember the past as a point of learning, rather than condemnation and laments. In addition, knowing how to laugh at yourself is a good step to stop taking yourself so seriously. Don't take yourself so seriously, everyone is wrong. Everyone has said something that at some point has regretted saying. Your mistakes can also be forgiven-

Viggo squeezed his lips and with watery eyes nodded. Jason crogged down and gave him a hug. Then they separated and walked a little further, where Kain and the others had moved.

-Jason is great when he's a little serious, but he's a 24/7 idiot, you have to find a balance- Odysseus said, letting out a sigh of tiredness.

-Shut up, with your seriousness is more than enough- Jason replied annoyed.

-Well, that said, we were going to train today, right?- asked Kain.

-Yes- the five replied in chorus.

-In that case, let's go?-

-Come on, old man- said Jason and advanced ahead. Lead the group along the cobblestone road to the west sector of the mansion, where the training camps were. At the same time, Kain looked up at the top of the mansion. Viggo also looked and saw a woman dressed in a white Greek toga on the central balcony of the fourth floor. She raised her hand and moved it in greeting. Then Viggo looked at his father, who smiled and raised his hand to greet her back. Then he kept moving forward and Ottar took his left hand again and Viggo the right. That way, they walked towards the big dome at the end of the training camps, where the three idiots, also known as Orario's best adventurers, had their own gym.
