Of loves and reasons 1.89

Semiramis and the rest of the girls watched as Viggo hugged a beautiful red-haired woman in the middle of a long hallway. They looked at Viggo's hair, red as blood, and then they looked at the woman and understood from whom he had inherited it. They all thought at the same time, the father's eyes, and the mother's hair. However, she looked more like his older sister, who at most could be 25 years old. She was only a couple of centimetres taller than Viggo, hugging him with all the strength her slender arms allowed as tears peeked into the corner of her eyes.

-Viggo, Viggo- said the goddess Hephaestus full of longing, happy to have him around and sad to have sent him away.

-I'm home, Mom- replied Viggo as he responded to the hug.

Hephaestus nodded, walked away a little, and brought his right hand to Viggo's face. She stroked his cheek with a soft and affectionate touch. Then she hugged him again and kissed his forehead several times.

-I miss you so much, my son- said Hephaestus in a voice exhausted by all emotions -every night thinking that something may have happened to you. In that someone may have hurt you. You don't know how happy I am that you're safe and sound-

So, they passed for five minutes, where Hephaestus whispered to him everything that missed him, everything she suffered thinking about him, everything that was revealed thinking that, perhaps, he would never return.

Semiramis and the rest looked at the mother and son from a couple of meters, remaining in complete silence.

On the other hand, the ceiling and walls were painted white, with wonderful family squares placed on the sides. Where appeared the tall elf they met a few hours ago, the goddess Hephaestus and a boy who, because of his red hair and rascal smile, must have been Viggo.

-Mother- said Viggo, realizing that he had left the girls waiting -we have visitors-

-Okay, son- said Hephaestus, bringing down big tears from her eyes. She ran her hands through her eyes and wiped away her tears as the paint spread to her, leaving black stains.

-Viggo- said Semiramis, approaching him. She took the bag of plenty from her hip, looked for a handkerchief and pulled it out as if by magic. Viggo turned back, Semiramis held out the handkerchief to him, and he nodded as he took the handkerchief.

-Mom, a handkerchief- Viggo said, holding it out to Hephaestus. She received it and passed it through his eyes in a gentle gesture. Then Viggo stood next to her, put his hand on her back and looked at the girls -I would like to introduce them to you-

Hephaestus finally realized that Viggo was with five women, all young and beautiful looking. She let out a sigh and thought about her husband and how much Viggo looked. Above all, for their tastes, since three of the five women were large breasts.

-From left to right: Sakura and Ana- Viggo said in a soft voice. They waved with blushing cheeks and a nervous smile -then comes Scheherezade, Semiramis and Kiara-

-Much pleasure- said the three of them, much older and mature than Sakura and Ana.

-Much pleasure to all of you- said Hephaestus, recomposing the calm -I am the mother of Viggo, Hephaestus. Come, escort me to one of the living rooms. I will ask Esther to prepare a delicious dinner for you-

-It's not necessary, Mom- replied Viggo -we passed by Dad's house-

Hephaestus nodded with a pleasant smile -in that case I'll ask Esther to prepare rooms for everyone- said.

-Yes, I would appreciate it-

-Anyway, you must accompany me with a drink in the living room while Esther prepares your rooms. I want to meet them-

-Mom?- asked Viggo, raising his eyebrow.

Hephaestus made a sly smile and pinched his cheek -I need to know my daughters-in-law- said.

-If I haven't told you yet that they are your daughters-in-law-

Hephaestus sneered disdainfully and said -blood is thicker than water, Viggo. I have known your father for many years and you forever, am I not going to notice?-

Viggo blushed when read so easily and scratched his head, embarrassed.

That way, Hephaestus led them all into a living room, where all the girls introduced themselves in greater detail. For her part, Hephaestus remained neutral, listening, and getting an idea of each girl's personality. Perhaps, because of their youth or tenderness, Sakura and Ana became her favorites right away. On the other hand, she kept some distance from Semiramis, Scheherezade and Kiara (the same from Hephaestus). It may be because they were already mature women or they were not willing to show a docile side in front of another woman, but the fact is that the conversation was filled with questions and the answers became somewhat thorny.

-Mother, don't bother them- said Viggo sitting in the same armchair as her.

-Wow, do you get on her side?- asked Hephaestus with a smile that wasn't

-No, I just want to keep things on good terms. So, stop snooping on them stuff. Not even I do-

-That's wrong, you should know what they want. When I married your father, we both knew each other thoroughly-

-Well, that's called trust. So, regardless of what they want, I will support them and ask you to do the same-

-You're so young-

-You mean confident?- asked Viggo with a burlesque smile.

Hephaestus looked at him, frowned, and stretched out his hand to squeeze his cheek -that cheeky smile equal to your father's. You two are cut by the same scissors- said.

-Mother, stop pulling my cheek- Viggo said, trying to gesticulate.

Sakura and Ana were sitting in a two-body armchair to Viggo's right. They, seeing Viggo so helpless, burst into laughter. At the same time, Semiramis and Scheherezade sitting in individual armchairs to the left of Hephaestus, were satisfied with the answer he gave. For her part, Kiara sitting in opposition to Hephaestus, only separated by a long glass table, looked at her with a smile on her face. For her it was a great achievement that such a person had been Viggo's mother. After all, being reincarnated did not guarantee that you will have a good family, nor that everything will go well.

-What about you Kiara?- asked Hephaestus -What did you do before you came here?-

Semiramis was holding her glass made when she heard that question. She made a sly smile and looked at Kiara, who seemed totally self-confident. Semiramis took the glass to her mouth and drank some wine

-I was a priestess- replied Kiara.

And Semiramis chokes on the wine and starts coughing upon hearing the answer. Scheherezade from the other armchair next to her stroked her back. At the same time, Hephaestus narrowed her eyes as she looked at Kiara. However, this last one just formed a smile on her lips that said, "that's all I'm going to tell you". Hephaestus let out a sigh, thinking that she could have gotten better matches for her son, but since he had decided, she let it be and see how far they went. However, although elusive, Kiara seemed much more reliable than the other girls. Sakura and Ana were inexperienced in their minds, but they would bring the sweetness of youth to their son. On the other hand, Scheherezade seemed like the kind of woman who would bring trouble for her great attractiveness. However, the most problematic would be Semiramis, someone who had a sharp and strong personality like that woman, Hera.

-They can stay in this house if they want- Hephaestus said, taking her glass from the coffee table. She drank some wine and then returned it to the table -In this house there is only one rule, and that is that no one can approach my office, much less my workshop. I have many delicate and high value things and I don't want misunderstandings-

-We understand- Sakura and Ana said obediently.

-I understand- replied Kiara, keeping her sly smile.

-I understand- Semiramis said in a neutral tone as Scheherezade only nodded with a polite expression and politics.

Hephaestus stared at them all for a long time until someone knocked on the door and she replied - go ahead-

The door opened and an older woman, with some gray hair on her head and wearing a maid's suit, peeked out -the rooms are already prepared- said.

-Thank you, Esther- Hephaestus replied, looked at the five women and then looked at Esther again -please accompany them to their bedrooms- then looked at the girls and continued -so you know, the rooms are at the end of the East Wing, while my room is in the West Wing- then she winked at the girls and Sakura and Ana instantly turned red. Kiara only nodded to the offer as did Scheherezade while Semiramis was indifferent.

On the other hand, Viggo could only let out a sigh when he saw the tense environment that his mother and Semiramis had generated. Then he looked at the girls and said -go with Esther, please. I want to talk about something with my mom-

The girls nodded, stood up, and said goodbye as politely as possible. Then they left the room and closed the door. When the echo of the footsteps became soft, Viggo looked at his mother and she looked back at him.

-Mom, I don't want you to fight with them- Viggo said in a soft tone as he put his hand on Hephaestus' hand.

-I haven't fought- replied Hepahestus, gesticulating a funny smile -it's just that...-

-Just what?- asked Viggo.

-I don't know- replied Hephaestus, looking away evasively.

Viggo let out a sigh and said -Well, be that as it may, I like them, I chose them, so don't go around fighting with them. I don't ask you to be friends, but try not to get along with them-

-I'm not the one hiding things- said Hephaestus, turning her face and looking him in the eye seriously -they have secrets, and I don't like that-

-Well, I think we all have secrets and things we don't want to say to others. Mom must also have her secrets that she has only confided in Dad, right?-

Hephaestus grimaced like a smile but left the question unanswered. After all, her black right eye was a vivid memory of something she hid for a long time and that only Kain managed to see, along with another friend. They were the only ones who really loved her as she looked.

-Well, anyway- Viggo continued -we'll bother you for a couple of days. So, try to get along with them-

-Okay, it's no discomfort- said Hephaestus, stretched out her hand and stroked his cheek -you're my son-

-Thank you- Viggo replied with a gentle smile and patted her hand. Then he stood up and looked at her -one last thing- Hephaestus also stood up, looked at him and Viggo continued -I know the big auction is coming, could you sneak us into your private box?-

-Of course, there are always plenty of seats. I don't see the problem with it-

-Thank you- Viggo said, gave her a hug and a little kiss on the cheek -good night-

-Good nigth, son- replied Hephaestus

Viggo nodded and turned his back to go out first. However, when he was about to arrive at the door Hephaestus asked him -When are you going to give me grandchildren?-

Hearing that question, Viggo tripped over his own feet and slammed into the door. After the heavy blow, he grabbed his head and looked back, only to look at his mother dead with laughter. Viggo thought that in the end, his father and mother were made for each other.
