Continuation of training 1.133

Two days later, Viggo entered the temple that Atreus had mentioned. The place was made of solid rock, with wide gold moldings on the dust jacket as if they were diamonds intertwined with each other. At the same time, on the huge pillars they had designed diamond shapes where they had embedded lazuli stone framed in gold. The corridors were wide, and the roof was supported by thick pillars one meter thick.

However, despite the majesty of the construction, the place was abandoned. Dirt and weeds covered the ground, there was debris from some crumbling walls and some patches of snow as a result of holes in the roof.

Viggo moved forward carrying his axe in his right hand, guarding every space and being careful when turning into every corner. He remembered the great castle beyond the protection of the forest of Faye, where his master tested his strength and he failed. It was an ancient place and could almost swear that the same people made that castle and this temple. Dwarves, call them Faye; little men capable of creating great wonders. Viggo could see the chisel scratches that shaped these walls and columns. It could only be defined as an impeccable job.

The corridors stretched out like caves plunging into the earth as light began to become scarce. At the same time, Viggo began to perceive a bad scent, as if they had left an animal dead in the open. With this cold, the stench should be under control. However, the plague became stronger with each step it took. Viggo stopped his walk, and his body was covered with red touki. Then he could hear better and recognized an evil hiss, as if someone were muttering against someone. It was an aged voice speaking in a strange language. Viggo narrowed his eyes and continued to move down the hall calculating at every step how far away he was.

Once Viggo reaches the end of a long corridor, reach a large internal room. However, he leaned on the wall and peeked out of a corner. Then he saw a creature with gray skin and thin limbs. She was human, but not at the same time. On her head she used the ram's skull while long bones came out of her back as if she were a porcupine. The creature carried a wooden staff while letting hang several bones tied by a thread to its waist.

Viggo narrowed his eyes and waited to see if the creature noticed him. She looked physically weak, but that air to death around her made her look like someone of care. Viggo took a deep breath and stepped out of his cover to see what the creature was doing. However, her surprise increased when the creature began to laugh malignantly. Viggo took his axe with both hands as he approached. The creature responded by uttering a few words in a tongue that sounded like an echoing whisper. The next instant, the creature was surrounded by a stinky miasma and in a rapid movement, as if sliding through the air, it appeared one meter from Viggo. The latter took a leap backwards and await the reaction. However, the only thing achieved, was that the creature laughed madly.

-What are you laughing at?- yelled Viggo enraged.

However, the creature only laughed and then spit out large, fist-sized, toxic green pieces of saliva into the air. Viggo saw one of the big spits heading in his direction. He jumped, dodged him, and saliva hit the ground. The liquid corroded the ground and left a large hole ten centimetres deep while emitting a horrible toxic miasma. Viggo covered his nose and realized that the whole room was being filled with such miasma. Then he looked for the creature, but as soon as he saw it, the creature hit the ground with its staff and thick vines appeared from the ground below Viggo. Viggo pulled smoothly to let go of his arms and then looked forward, only to find the miasma extended, but no sign of the creature.

-I must kill that thing- Viggo muttered as he moved forward enduring the rot of miasma. He walked out of the large room and into another hallway. He could almost smell the trail left by that creature. It was too dangerous to let her exist in this place. Atreus was too curious and could go into the temple to watch. He already imagined him wandering, believing that he was a great warrior.

Viggo reached the end of the corridors without finding the creature. However, he found something else just as suspicious. There was a huge lintel that led to a corridor and then to a kind of platform. However, the lintel of the door had a celestial aura that made it look like a mirror. Viggo brought his hand closer and touched the surface. At first glance it looked like he had gone through it, but he didn't feel anything special. Viggo looked at the surroundings and then pierced the lintel. Nothing happened. So, he went ahead and came to the center of a huge platform, where there was a pole like a ship rudder. Viggo frowned and turned it. The rudder activated a mechanism, chains sounded, and the platform began to descend.

The platform darkened as it descended until it reached the last stretch and there was light again. The platform stopped and Viggo could see a corridor ahead that was then divided into three. On the sides of the road were two stairs leading to a second floor within the same room where shelves with scrolls on the sides were seen. In the center of the second floor was a window that let in daylight. However, judged by everything that had come down, Viggo assumed that he was underground.

Viggo reasserted the grip on his axe and advanced down the hall. Everything maintained the same architecture, rock carved by great craftsmen. Gold moldings on the dust jackets and beautiful ornaments on the walls like the figure of a diamond with a lazuli stone center in the center and bordered with gold. Everything looked beautiful, but dirty, with some debris from the walls along the way.

Viggo went upstairs to the second floor and found the shelves six meters wide by three meters high; all filled with scrolls. A chest and a tomb were also found. The window was set over the tomb, Viggo walked over and looked out. There was only one enlarged courtyard with a tree of long gray branches and mahogany leaves. However, in the center there was something black floating in the air. Viggo bit his lip and looked at the shelves around him. He thought about it a little, but he refused and under the stairs, and then continued down the corridor that passed under the second floor until he reached the outer courtyard.

It was crazy, Viggo thought as he looked at the blue sky. He was sure that he had gone down several tens of meters underground. However, here was seeing a clear, clear, bluish sky. The weather was warm as in autumn and mahogany leaves covered the ground. Everything oozed tranquility, except for the strange spherical shape that floated in the center of the courtyard.

Viggo focused on the spherical shape, squeezed the grip on his axe and moved forward. Then he heard the creature's evil laughter again, and the dark sphere spread the size of a portal. Then draugrs began to emerge from within, some loaded with swords and shields, others carrying hammers and axes of war. They advanced in the direction of Viggo, and he responded by raising his left forearm in front. A draugrs discharged his sword and Viggo channeled his mana to the bracelet. The triangular blades were extended and joined together to form a shield. Viggo blocked, the draugrs was repelled and Viggo took advantage of giving him an axe in the throat.

Then Viggo continued with the other draugrs until only one was left standing. Viggo put away the shield and left the axe on the ground. The draugrs, with his eyes emitting the igneous fire of hell, threw himself growling and Viggo dodged to the side. The draugrs attacked him a second and a third time, but Viggo dodged him without problems. However, when the draugrs attacked a third time, Viggo cut the fist with which he brandished the sword. He looked at the draugrs closely and could clearly see his cadaveric features. Then Viggo gave him a burlesque smile and with his other hand, he drew the rune of Isa "I" on the chest of the draugrs. He pushed the draugrs back as he backed up at the same time. The rune was activated, emitting a cold celestial glow and the reaction between the body of the draugrs and the rune was not long in coming. The draugrs exploded into a thousand pieces and only his spine and legs were left standing.

Viggo smiled contentedly at the reaction, as he had found a way to annihilate a bunch of draugrs in one fell swoop. While the draugrs appeared to be made of magma, Isa's rune emitted an intense cold of glacial blizzard. Those two things didn't get along, causing the poor draugrs to die in one fell swoop. Now, the question was how would he do it once he is attacked by an army of draugrs?

Viggo looked down thinking of a solution, but the evil laughter sounded again from inside the portal. Viggo looked forward and found that creature with the staff and the huge thorns on its humpback back. Viggo ran back, took the axe, and put himself in a fighting position. The creature stared at him, wrapped in that toxic miasma. Viggo frowned as he smelled the foul aroma. However, he noticed that the creature did not move, but looked at him with empty basins with a deep darkness, as if he were an evil spirit. Viggo took the axe with both hands and threw it, but the weapon passed through the creature.

Viggo was surprised, but his reaction only made the creature laugh madly. She moved at high speed as if she were a spectre and arrived in a blink in front of Viggo. Then the creature took his staff with both hands and threw three lunges forward. Viggo dodged them and moved forward to throw a punch. However, once again the fists pierced the creature's body and she retreated laughingly. Viggo frowned and looked at his fists without seeing any injuries. The creature was untouchable, but when he threw those lunges, he could feel the change in the air. That meant that at some point it became corporeal. He watches it without further thought, channel mana to his index finger and draw the rune of sowelu "S" in the air. The mana condensed and the nature of the rune burst into flames as if it were a flamethrower. However, the creature stood still and just laughed. At the same time, the creature muttered a few vengeful words, and from the ground under Viggo vines appeared. The mana was cut, and the rune lost its power. The creature took advantage while Viggo made force to break the vines and she gave him three lunges with the silent. The blow was not so painful but confirm Viggo's theory. At some point the creature became corporeal.

Viggo managed to break the vines and the creature quickly returned to its position. Viggo looked at her annoyedly and this time, draw isa's rune "I" in the air. The mana gave energy to the rune and manifested as a glacial blizzard that hit the creature without injuring it but imprisoned it in a layer of ice. Viggo smiled, cut off the mana, and ran towards the creature. At the same time, the creature tried to move and break the ice sheet, but Viggo was faster and managed to give her a powerful punch. The creature rolled on the ground and the ram's skull split in two. Then Viggo could see the face of the creature and knew that before transforming into this thing, it was human. To be more precise, she was a woman, but something made her change and transformed her into a kind of undead. Her skin was completely gray, his teeth twisted, and his eyes were dark like two abysses.

The creature was muttering things, but it seems that the magic was over. Viggo advanced to the creature and crushed its skull. The next instant, the portal closed and became a dark sphere again.
