Midgar and the Temple of Tyr 2.261

Viggo had reached the northeastern region of Midgar, where everything was frozen thanks to the last breath of Thamur, a frost giant. Thanks to the blizzards of snow, he could not see more than twenty meters ahead of him and Rosewisse. Silence filled everything, there was no sign of draugrs or the terrible wulver.

From time to time some mounds of snow rose through which fragments of towers or walls that belonged to a civilization prior to the fall of the giant protruded.

Viggo dressed as usual, letting a light layer of touki protect him from the cold. However, Rosewisse had donned her Valkyrie armor with the helmet included. That plus his magical reinforcement gave him the ability to withstand the terrible blizzards of cold.

—Viggo— said Rosewisse —Surely there isn't a special trick to master touki?—

Viggo, who was leading the group, stopped, and looked back to see a golden mask with two horns and a pair of wings coming out of the back. The outline of the eyes was painted red and, in the center, where the holes were, were Rosewisse's blue eyes. Viggo chuckled, as Rosewisse really needed that Valkyrie mask because at first glance it wasn't scary. She was strong, but her appearance was the closest thing to what people think an angel should look like.

—If I'm honest— said Viggo, turning his face to look straight ahead, where only blizzards and snowfields could be seen, —I learned it by instinct. At first, I couldn't find the trick— he started walking as the snow creaked beneath his feet and Rosewisse followed him — but there was a rare day when I talked to my father. The truth, I don't even remember, but that day I achieved the touki. I don't know if I did so well that my brothers were excited, but they broke the training dome of the Hera family's elite. I think touki is another knowledge we should study—

—Viggo— Rosewisse said in a tired, sad voice —I don't know if you're cool or just a fool—

Viggo held his breath for a second and then let out the air with a chuckle —thank you, was it a compliment?—

—No, my frustration in words— Rosewisse said in an annoyed tone —I've been practicing touki with you for two years, but even with Dad's advice I can't reach it.

—Aaaaah, I think you're getting frustrated very soon just because you think you're smarter than me—

—I'm smarter than you, your dad confirms it—

—Yes, but that doesn't make you a better warrior. Besides, it's your ego that frustrates you. If you think about it in time, my brothers spent fifty years training touki, but they only came to magic reinforcement like you. That makes you, Rosewisse Dragonroad, an incredible woman who equaled warriors with more than seventy years of experience with nothing more than eighteen years. Now, you get frustrated because you think "Viggo is dumb, he was able to dominate touki. I am intelligent, I should master touki without any difficulty"—

—Me, now that you say it— Rosewisse said in her voice muffled by the Valkyrie helmet —I'm sorry for being so selfish and pretentious— but the blizzard was loud and her voice barely came out of the helmet.

—What did you say?— asked Viggo aloud.

—Nothing— Rosewisse shouts —I'm sorry for being mean to you—

—Oooh, don't worry, it feels great to make fun of pretentious fools— Viggo shouts back and in a very good mood.

—Unfortunate— said Rosewisse, taking off his helmet and feeling the cold of the blizzard —I'm apologizing, and you make fun—

—Well— Viggo said, stopping —you make fun first—

Rosewisse looked him in the eye as the cold burned her face —idiot, you sleep alone— she said.

—Hey, that's a bad loser. Come on, Rosewisse, it was a joke—

—I don't love you anymore, you idiot— Rosewisse said and walked ahead, angry at herself for loving such a burlesque man. Viggo followed closely with a smile on his lips, not taking the situation so seriously. Rosewisse was like that, a bit pretentious for her great intelligence, but she had other pretty sides that Viggo was willing to be with her for. Even if sometimes she thought she was smarter than him.

—Come on, Rosewisse— Viggo shouted in a powerful voice —love of my life, it was just a joke—

—I don't hear you— Rosewisse said, walking ahead, put on the helmet, and continued to move forward.

Viggo shook his head while smiling and occupied his clairvoyance to look at what lay ahead. His smile faded immediately, he walked as fast as he could, and held Rosewisse by the wrist.

—What's wrong? Are there more jokes?— asked Rosewisse in a moody mood.

—No— said Viggo, looking ahead and with a cold expression —the jokes and friendly conversations are over. You know what to do—

Viggo let go of his hand and started running ahead. Rosewisse immediately materialized his wand and followed closely. However, with his wings covered by the Valkyrie armor it was especially difficult for her to move forward with all this blizzard.

Viggo continued running for a few more seconds until he reached an ice floor and heard a metal cut through the blizzard. Immediately, Viggo clenched his left fist, channeled mana to the bracelet and unfolded the shield with the spell, Great Magic Barrier. That which cut the air in a hurried trip and flashing impact against the shield, but different from the other occasions could resist it. However, Viggo's goal was not to show strength, so he leaned back a bit to deflect that hammer wrapped in electricity and fall on his back as if his defenses had been overcome.

Thor's hammer continued to travel into the sky, but immediately returned to his master's hand leaving a brief electric trail that vanished into the blizzard.

Viggo lying on the ice, looked forward as if frightened, and saw the heavy blizzard. Thirty meters away came a huge figure, taller and wider than him. In his left hand he carried something that emitted rays of electricity. Little by little this figure became clearer until there was a man with coppery hair, disheveled, beard and intimidating look.

—You haven't improved anything without my help— Thor said in a cold, insidious, slow tone of voice —last time you were able to stop my hammer with your hands. You don't seem to be as good as AllFather thinks—

Viggo stood up from the ground and created a layer of red touki on his body as if he wanted to fight Thor seriously. Both looked into each other's eyes without losing sight of each other. Thor showed a small smile and despite his huge drinking belly, he ran at a high-speed carrying the hammer in his left hand. The electricity from the hammer spiraled out of control by spewing lightning everywhere and devastating the ice floor beneath his feet. Thor jumped up, raised the hammer with both hands, and unloaded it with all his might. Viggo jumped to the left, fell to the ground, rolled, but the impact of the hammer was so strong that his body flew out while burned by the intense electric rays.

Viggo fell rolling on the snow, his whole body was covered with wounds that bathed him in blood. He stood up and looked at Thor, only ten meters away from him. The latter felt safe, master of everything with his powerful hammer. Viggo clenched his fists with a look of fury. He wanted to pull his swords out of the chaos and cut off his limbs like he did Zeus, but no, it wasn't the time. His target was not this damn killer maniac. He activated a small strand of divine power, and his vision went to the belt where Thor had what he was looking for, a bifrost. Unlike the one Freya had, the stone in the center of this bifrost emitted a large amount of light, as if it had never been used. Viggo let out a sigh and ran to meet Thor.

For his part, Thor let out a laugh of excitement. It has been many years since he had an enemy who sought to fight with him openly. Thor channeled his divine power to the hammer, the electric rays manifested great and destructive. Viggo arrived in front of him, Thor greeted him with his hammer to his face. Viggo crouched, the hammer passed by, and punched him in the ribs. Thor let go of his breath, but quickly recovered and hit with his backhand hammer. Viggo was barely able to activate his shield and Thor hit him. The magic barrier withstood the blow, but Viggo flew out meters away until he fell on the snow, continued rolling another meter and was face down, lying in the snow.

—Is that all?— asked Thor, his brow at the incredible punch he received in the ribs. That hurt like he hadn't remembered in a long time. However, the job was done, and his hands were itchy for unloading his mjolnir on Viggo's head. He walks at a slow pace savoring the moment until he reaches two meters from Viggo. His red hair was scattered, and blood was staining the snow. Thor spuckled as his mjolnir emitted electricity. He raised his hammer high, but when he was going to unload it, someone threw a fireball.

Thor quickly moved his hammer and dissipated the fireball in one fell swoop. He looked into the distance and saw a winged silhouette coming in his direction —you're late— he said, trying to provoke her —already killed him—

Rosewisse spread her wings to the sides and pointed her wand at him —undeserving— she screamed imitating the fury of all the mad Valkyries inside Odin's hidden chambers. That was the only example of acting that Rosewisse found logical. She channeled a large fireball and threw it at Thor. The latter jumped over the fireball and fell on Rosewisse discharging his hammer. Rosewisse fluttered forward and with her legs propelled herself backwards, quickly generating an enormous distance between her and Thor.

—Valhalla— Rosewisse shouted, raised her wand to the sky and created a huge magic circle the size of an adult. From the circle came a huge fireball that Thor avoided by jumping sideways. However, the magic circle in the sky did not fade, but began to throw one fireball after another, all powerful with a wide range of destruction.

Thor tried to throw his hammer to destroy the fireball and succeeded, but the fireball that came next continued its trajectory and had to jump as fast as he could to avoid the worst scenario. Thor understood that if he did not destroy the magic circle in the sky the attacks would not stop. However, his problems only continued to multiply because in addition to the magic circle in the sky, Rosewisse created another with his wand and attacked him from the front. Thor only lost ground to the continuous bombardment of Rosewisse, but he did not lose his cool. For him this was logical, only a vanir could compete with an aesir.

Thor threw his hammer into the sky, destroyed the magic circle, and the aerial bombardment stopped. Rosewisse threw a big fireball at him, but it was a matter of jumping to the side with speed to evade danger. The hammer returned to his hand, and he rushed to meet Rosewisse with an insane look. Happy to be able to find a great enemy after so long. However, just at that moment a roar was heard that filled all Midgar. He and Rosewisse stopped their combat and looked in the same direction. Something larger than Thamur's corpse itself was moving through Midgar.
