Midgar and the Temple of Tyr 2.264

Viggo and Rosewisse had left the temple of Tyr and found the temple bridge, but in a totally different place from Midgar. The vegetation was thick, the trees believed to be large and leafy, with leaves of all colors. The air was pure, the spring weather, and the plants on the ground emitted a heavenly glow as if each leaf or petal were a firefly. However, there was something peculiar, all the branches and plants pointed towards a specific place, artificially.

—Come on— Rosewisse said excitedly, taking Viggo by the hand and began to run, looking here and there, marveling at nature and seeing the eternally blue sky. However, she suddenly stopped when she saw some strange constructions on the sides of the bridge. It was a mixture of elements that formed a kind of coating as a building material, earthy, sandy, and soft.

—We better fly, we can have a better image of everything— Viggo said.

Rosewisse turned her face, saw Viggo with red hair up to his shoulders, but most importantly, his gaze was serious and focused on honeycomb-like constructions. Rosewisse nodded, got behind Viggo, and his face was hidden behind his back.

Rosewisse smiled and said —We're going to have to find another way to travel, it's a bit uncomfortable—

—I understand— Viggo said without laughing as he usually would. Those constructions were not normal and if there were insects the size of a person it was not good.

Rosewisse jumped and fluttered at the same time to propel herself into the sky. She soon reached ten meters in height, but quickly she and Viggo realized their mistake. The next instant humanoid figures emerged from the spring jungle that raise. Their wings moved at high speed like mosquitoes, were dark, horned and had golden tridents. They quickly caught up with Rosewisse and swooped in to attack her. She fluttered her wings to evade and then swooped to the ground. She quickly reaches the bridge of the temple of Tyr and drop Viggo. The latter fell on the obsidian rock floor and waited for the creatures. He wanted to refuse to call them elves, his father was an elf, but they were not even similar.

Those dark elves swooped down on Viggo, but the latter followed their movements and avoided being stabbed by the tridents by a short margin. At the same time, he was close to an elf and threw a punch to his throat, crushing his trachea. The dark elf fell to the ground and Viggo took the golden trident. He moved with speed, avoiding the elves, and hitting them with the trident. Suddenly there was a huge rumble and an explosion of flames. Everyone looked back and saw Rosewisse in her valkyrie armor pointing forward with the silver wand. She threw one fireball after another, and the dark elves were quickly burned to death. The few who survived ignored Viggo and flew away.

—Just nasty, as they can be…— said Rosewisse as she descended.

—Don't say it— Viggo replied in a moody manner, refusing that those creatures were the same as his father. The elves of Viggo's world were young, pleasing to the eye, and proud as nobles. These creatures were nowhere near looking like them. However, Viggo understood something. In the architecture of the world, there was room for creatures who revered nature and grew stronger from it.

Rosewisse landed on the obsidian stone bridge and replied —Let's walk—

—Yes— Viggo replied with a slight nod —that's the best—

Both walked along the obsidian rock bridge, covered with spring nature, but with those walls and mounds made of that strange material that made it look like part of a honeycomb.

—The fire worked very well— said Rosewisse —you could try to use the wand your father made, I don't know, to use it—

—I know I've put our work aside, but I promise to take it back again— said Viggo —I've had to do too many things and prepare for things I couldn't measure. The throne of the sovereign has served me for that, don't worry, I will not forget our work together again—

Rosewisse let out a snort, approached him and said —you better— she takes his hand, and they both walked side by side.

Soon they reached the end of the bridge that connected to the temple of Tyr and saw a river of turquoise water. The water was calm, it looked more like a pond, but because of the dimensions and direction it took it was a river. Viggo and Rosewisse advanced along a side road that led them to the shore and brought them closer to a forest. Everything seemed to be calm, the crickets and the singing of birds could be heard.

They both stopped at the shore and Rosewisse let go of Viggo, she took off her boots and walked through the water —come Viggo— she said, looking at his face. Viggo smiled and took off his boots. He leaves it on the ground and walk with Rosewisse. The water had a good temperature, as on the coasts of Sparta. In the center of the turquoise river was an islet where there was an immense almond tree with white leaves. Its branches followed the same direction as those of the other trees, pointing towards the enormous light that pierced the sky.

No doubt Alfheim was a beautiful place, the only problem was the dark elves who by now had retreated.

Rosewisse and Viggo walked through the water for a dozen meters until they stopped. She gave him a flirtatious look and he gave a chuckle.

—Better not— said Viggo —sand and water can give a good image, but when the sand is left in certain parts, the whole moment becomes uncomfortable—

—You're boring— said Rosewisse.

—Rosewisse, this is not the best time— said Viggo —those things are close, they are dangerous. I would really love to, but better not—

—What if we found a safe place?— she asked with a flirtatious smile —maybe we could try to make a little Viggo or a little Rosewisse. What do you think?—

—It's a great proposal— Viggo replied, bent down, kissed her, and said —but it's only if we find a truly safe place.

—Well, don't worry, leave it in my hands—

Viggo did not supplement those words because he understood that this was Rosewisse's longing. Her parents made her in this kingdom, and she wanted to be like them. Viggo only knew Rosewisse's parents from what she told him, but apparently, they loved each other.

Viggo and Rosewisse searched the surrounding area for a boat. Because of the location near the temple, they must have had some means of transportation. Viggo found a couple of boats away from the riverbank. He dragged the boat to shore, helped Rosewisse up and they both sailed down the river. Viggo rowed and Rosewisse was dedicated to looking at the spring landscape of lush vegetation.

—Thank you, Viggo— said Rosewisse.

—Why? For rowing?— asked Viggo with a smile —I tell you that on the way back it's your turn to row—

—Not for that— Rosewisse said with a wonderful smile —you're so silly. No, really, for everything. For finding you in Midgar, for taking me to your land, for giving me your friendship and love. I don't know, everything seems so weird, everything seems fate. If I'm honest, I didn't expect to find anyone in Midgar—

—Well, if you start throwing magic like crazy and generating explosions, you're sure to get someone's attention. However, I don't know if it's fate, but I'd like to think that you love me, and I love you more than imagining that some mystical force brought us together. I like you, Rosewisse—

—Even with my bad mood?— asked Rosewisse with amusement.

—Even with your bad mood— Viggo replied with a broad smile.

—Thank you— said Rosewisse.

—Thank you too, for allowing me to love you—

In this way, both continued sailing along the river for half an hour, in calm and tranquility. Seeing the lush vegetation and listening to the birds and insects.

—Is there a long way to go?— asked Rosewisse.

—Not much— said Viggo, he stopped the movement of the oar, left it inside the boat and from his ring he took out a white feather, Rosewisse's feather. He used his clairvoyance and his sight raise like the sight of a bird, flew into the distance to a distant beach and stopped in front of a cave. Then he advanced through the darkness and stopped in front of a stone door with a stone seal in the shape of a diamond.

—Just half an hour more travel— Viggo said.

—I was so sleepy so quiet— said Rosewisse, letting out a big yawn —it would have been nice to have brought one of the paintings. So, I could take a good nap while you paddle—

Viggo frowned upon hearing it, but Rosewisse didn't bother and let out a silly chuckle. Viggo continued rowing, but Rosewisse couldn't sleep no matter how peacefully she was. The space was too small, and its wings did not help at all. In the end, she sat and nodded around the whole trip until they reached the beach that Viggo mentioned. From that position they looked out over what appeared to be the sea and saw a beautiful white light piercing the sky.

Viggo got off the boat and dragged it along the beach with Rosewisse inside. Stopping the boat on the sand, she got off the boat and investigated the distance.

—Well, at least it was worth it— Rosewisse said, letting out a big yawn as she covered her mouth with her hand. However, suddenly the light that was so white went out and the sky went dark —ok, that's not good—

—Let's stay out of it— said Viggo —the problems are over there. We must go the other way—

Rosewisse turned to look and saw Viggo, red-haired and bare-chested pointing at a cave at the bottom of the beach. Rosewisse nodded and together with Viggo walked towards the cave.

—What do you think happened?— asked Viggo.

—According to the master, the light of Alfheim changes hands from time to time— replied Rosewisse —surely now the light is in the domain of the dark elves—

—Is it bad?—

—It's bad if we're in between the two groups, what you said was the right thing to do—

—I see—

Both entered the cave and came to the stone gate. Rosewisse pulled out the chisel and etched Kenaz's rune "<" on the surface. The stone-shaped seal disintegrated as if it were made of sand and the door was ready to open.

All of Odin's chambers followed the same pattern, a cave, a door, a stone seal, another cave, an elevator, and a hidden chamber where he stores knowledge. However, the problem for Viggo and his clairvoyance is that none of it had been written by Odin. He only took what others knew. However, what remained a real mystery was the reason for imprisoning the Valkyries.

Arriving at Odin's chamber, with the two stairs on the sides and the second floor with the bookshelves on the walls full of scrolls, they looked down the corridor that passed under the second floor and connected the outer courtyard, where the valkyrie was hidden behind its wings as if it were the chrysalis of a caterpillar.

—Olrun, the eagle— said Rosewisse, seeing her from a distance.

—Will you be okay on your own?— asked Viggo.

Rosewisse looked at Viggo and said —As always, don't worry, this is a fight between Valkyries—

—Whatever you say, try not to make too much noise, I feel like sleeping—

—Hey, that's not fair, I'm going to make a lot of noise—

—Ok, ok, I will wait for you—

—That's better. You know, after beating Olrun, you and me in a bed, it doesn't sound bad, right?

Viggo smiled and Rosewisse winked at him.
