Midgar and the Temple of Tyr 2.269

Once again Rosewisse stood in front of a Valkyrie in the outer courtyard of Odin's chamber. That Valkyrie hidden behind its wings covered by the bulky golden armor moved its wings and the metal plates that imitated the shape of the feathers produced a metallic rub. The wings were fully opened, and the Valkyrie was left standing, just five meters away from Rosewisse. Her helmet had horns like those of a deer, Róta, the selector.

Róta quickly threw herself into the sky with a crazy laugh, spun in the air, and swooped into Rosewisse. The latter threw herself into the sky and fluttered while the other Valkyrie in her madness was stunned, not understanding what had happened.

Róta looked up and saw Rosewisse fluttering in the air and maintaining her height. Róta quickly spelled seidr magic in his hands and a lot of chakram to throw them all at once. Rosewisse in the air fluttered hard propelling forward, gliding and evading each of the chakram.

Róta spelled more seidr magic and this time she threw a huge chakram which rippled in the air and hit Rosewisse on the right wing. The latter plummeted, but quickly regained its mastery of flight and flapping again, but the clumsiness in its movement was felt. Róta flew once more and lunged at Rosewisse at a high speed. However, the latter saw it coming in her direction, pointed her wand and created a magic circle with the rune of Isa "I" inside. From the magic circle came an ice spear that hit Rota in the head, lost her mastery of flight, and swooped to the ground. She collided with a wall generating a rumble, generating debris and dust. However, a Valkyrie was an unstoppable destructive force and one in a body with centuries of training and madness, it was not so easy to bring down. Róta threw herself back into the sky, fluttering with the same difficulty as Rosewisse, but screaming with madness and proclaiming that she was not worthy.

Rosewisse from the sky vanished her wand, took out the katana with the blue blade, and swooped in to find Róta. The latter threw herself against her with her hands in front as if she wanted to catch her, but Rosewisse moved her wings in such a way that she avoided her, passed close and with a single cut removed both wings. Róta fell to the ground shedding large amounts of blood as her body fell on one side and her wings on the other.

Rosewisse descended, but now of falling to the ground her feet stumbled and she fell face to the ground. She had her golden helmet with two demon-like horns, so she was protected, but as she tried to get up, she rested both hands, but she fell face first back to the ground.

Viggo ran from inside Odin's hidden chamber, came to the courtyard, and approached Rosewisse. He took off her helmet and saw her pale, so he immediately took out the bottle with estus. However, when he brought it to Rosewisse's mouth, she put her hand and refused to drink.

—Please, help me, take me to the other Valkyrie— she said in a soft, weak voice.

Viggo took a deep breath, helped her stand up, and then they walked to where the Valkyrie was. Rosewisse separated from Viggo and stood on her own. It was her pride to stand before another prominent Valkyrie as her equal. The cares could wait, first was the honor between the two warriors.

As she died in her mortal body, the soul of the Valkyrie Róta separated and projected itself as a winged spirit before Rosewisse and Viggo —you, young Valkyrie— said —thank you for freeing me from my corrupt form—

—It's nothing, Róta, the selector— Rosewisse replied firmly and proudly —now, answers my questions as a sign of cordiality—

—I hear you—

—Why were you crazy?—

Viggo saw Rosewisse ask ten questions, half of them was the reformulation of the first, but the Valkyrie Róta replied that she knew nothing and did not understand why she was in such a state. She said that if they took the ten helmets of the Valkyries and summoned the queen in the Rocstoll aff valkyrs they could find answers. After those ten questions, Róta did not wait any longer and although Rosewisse had more questions, she left.

—Enough— Viggo said with the bottle of estus in his hand, Rosewisse nodded and hugged him so as not to fall to the floor. Their wings bled leaving spots on the floor. Viggo carefully approached the bottle and gave it a drink while looking at it with concern. Rosewisse showed a sweet smile when she saw Viggo so worried about her. Rosewisse quickly regained the color of her face, but she was still weak.

—Woman, one of these days you're going to kill me from fright— Viggo said in a soft voice. Rosewisse just hugged him and let out a sweet chuckle. Viggo let out a sigh, took her in his arms and carried her to the center of the courtyard, where it was clean. Viggo pointed with his right hand, where he had the ring that his father gave him and extracted from the ring a long bed. It had a blue and fluffy bedspread, Rosewisse liked it because she said it reminded her of flying in the sky. Viggo laid Rosewisse down and she settled on her side, so as not to crush her wings. Viggo crouched down, his eyes were at the same height, and stroked her face gently.

—Do you want more estus?— asked Viggo.

—No, I feel better, my wound is healed, but it will take me some time to recover the lost blood, so I am weak, you take care of me?—

—Of course, yes, you know that—

—I want to hear it from you—

—Okay, I'll take care of you, forever—

—That sounds better— Rosewisse replied, letting out a big yawn.

Viggo let out a sigh and was surprised how a simple blow to a wing could spoil a Valkyrie so much. Viggo recalls that she withstood several blows from Thor's hammer to her body. Surely wings were an important part of the Valkyries.

Viggo looked at the rest of the outer courtyard of Odin's chamber, it had the same architecture as the others. An entrance, all surrounded by walls five meters high, and mountains could be seen in the surroundings. The blue, clear sky. A giant tree in the background with long branches stretched forward like arms that protected the courtyard from sunlight. Apart from the Valkyrie, there was nothing else except the scrolls that were inside the hidden chamber.

Viggo looked at Rosewisse who had fallen asleep in a few seconds. Then he looked once more at the surroundings making sure there was nothing fooling his eyesight. It would be easy for Viggo, it would be like someone stung him with a needle in the face. Although he had his clairvoyance, he still trusted his instinct.

Once he confirmed that there were no problems, Viggo walked to the corridor that took him inside Odin's chamber and then turned right to climb the stairs to the second floor. From there he could see the courtyard through the window and his beautiful Valkyrie sleeping on the big bed. Viggo let out a sigh of pure worry, but concentrated on what he was looking for. He looked at the shelves on the walls and saw a hundred parchment. One by one he went through them with his clairvoyance and looking at the energy left by the person who wrote them, to see if he could find out something.

Nothing on the first shelf.

Viggo left the scrolls scattered on the floor, went to the other shelf, and started from the top. He takes a rather battered parchment rolled up in a gold tube with gold pine nuts on the sides. Viggo concentrated his divine power, occupied his clairvoyance, and saw the old hands of the Father of All.

Odin was in a comfortable bedroom in sight, with a view of the representation of the world tree, inside the temple of Tyr. There were braceros inside the room that kept everything warm, several shelves with scrolls and chests that were closed. The AllFather scribbled some illegible things, but Viggo was able to read through the energy left on the scroll Odin's thoughts.

The AllFather had drawn a line along and marked several points where he scribbled dates and events in general. All things that had already happened at this time, such as the fall of Ivaldi, the journey of the sons of Ivaldi to Midgar, the mistakes of the sons and the subsequent fall of Motsognir, the eldest son and the one who had commanded most of the dwarves.

All of Ivaldi's sons were wise and powerful dwarves, with superior knowledge in different disciplines, so at the time he wrote this document they posed a threat to him and could interfere in the outcome of Ragnarok. So, down the timeline, Odin was writing points and creating measures to counteract them all. All the dwarves had the same problem, they were curious, and this curiosity led them to desire things that were beyond their possibility. So, it was for Ivaldi who wanted to destroy the gods with his weapons created with deadly fog. So, it was for Motsognir, who despite being the eldest brother and the strongest of Ivaldi's sons, feared for his life. Odin knew many things so he would only have to throw a stone into the pond and that would generate a Tsunami. So, this aspect, he just had to leave some knowledge at the hand of Motsognir and the latter would dig his own grave.

In this way Odin was controlling the times in which each thing was happening while taking away his opportunities others so that he had more time and less worries. That way he would have more time to prepare for ragnarok.

Viggo cut off the vision of his clairvoyance and stood upright, holding the scroll, and thinking about Odin's actions. Take away his opportunities and time from others to get more for him? It seemed impossible, but in the cruel way that Odin put it it seemed feasible.

On the other hand, were those the aspirations of the king of the gods? Control the time in which things happen? Viggo shook his head because he still didn't know much about Odin and drawing conclusions could mistake his view of Odin's perspective. It was not good to assume without having the full picture.

Now, that camera hidden within the view had a huge window from which you could see the top of the representation of the world tree. When he got back to Tyr's temple it would be good to look and see what was inside that chamber. In the image, he could see a hundred scrolls and if one of them told him more about Odin, Viggo would be closer to his goal. Only once he had the full picture of what Odin had done would he be able to understand his way of doing things and see where his mistakes were.
