Midgar and the Temple of Tyr 2.271

Back at the temple of Tyr, Rosewisse and Viggo met Brok once again in a corner of the anteroom, where he had set up his blacksmith shop. They approached the workbench while Brok passed a sword over the whetstone that rotated and sparked on contact with the metal.

—Are you still here?— asked Viggo —I don't think you have many customers—

Brok, the blue-skinned dwarf pushed the sword away, gave it a slight glance backwards and then put the sword back on the sharpening stone and draw more sparks —you don't care, fool—

Viggo frowned, but did not insist, instead ask —since you like the temple and Helheim so much, don't you know of a hidden chamber of Odin?—

That disturbed Brok, his hands slipped, and he took a finger on the whetstone that was spinning at that moment. Thanks to that he went on to scrape his skin and throw away his sword —damn— he said in a bad mood and turned to look at Viggo —you said your parents were blacksmiths—

—Nope— Viggo said with a big smile of satisfaction when he saw that Brok had hurt himself —well, whatever, have you seen a camera of Odin or not?—

Brok walked over to the workbench while sucking his injured finger and replied —Boy, I'll give you some advice. Whatever it is, don't get into the things of the raven god; No one, absolutely no one, ends well—

—Thank you for your advice— Viggo replied, nodding repeatedly —but seriously, haven't you seen Odin's chamber?—

—No, stupid boy, I haven't seen any fucking Odin camera and even if I knew I wouldn't tell you. I don't like you, you're like a flea in the butt, but I don't hate you enough to lead you into that kind of trouble—

—Well, whatever— Viggo said, breathing a sigh of frustration —I don't have materials, so see you another time— Viggo walked with Rosewisse and they heard Brok shouting —thanks for wasting my time— from behind.

Viggo and Rosewisse giggled and continued walking until they reached a ramp made of light energy like that of bifrost or the representation of Yggdrasil. They climbed the ramp, stopped in front of the door and Viggo stuck his fingers between the doors to force and open it to the sides in one fell swoop. They entered the transfer chamber, where there was the representation of Yggdrasil in the center as a trunk of white bark with long roots. The door closed behind them, and they felt the enormous change of leaving the cold atmosphere of Helheim behind. It was as if in here they were in another world, dimension, or realm. Perhaps, an intermediate kingdom between the kingdoms that was not affected by the climate of these, who knows? But it was clear that being here was better than being out there.

—Any ideas?— asked Rosewisse, he put his right hand to the lock of hair and dragged it behind his ear.

—No, not at all, let's go around and see if we find anything— Viggo replied, looking at the ceiling. He and Rosewisse walked around the entire transfer room that had a circular shape and stopped next to a door. At the top of the roof was a round hole four meters in diameter.

—Can you check?— asked Viggo.

Rosewisse looked at the hole in the ceiling and without answering, jumped, flapped her wings, and got into the hole, but it was quickly heard that she collided with something and the scream of pain. Rosewisse fell like a downed bird and Viggo jumped into the air to catch her. He fell on his feet and Rosewisse clutching her head with both hands.

—I'm sorry, I must have thought about it beforehand— Viggo said.

—Yes, holy heaven, how it hurts— said Rosewisse without removing her hands from her head.

Viggo tried to lower her, she removed a hand and looked with one eye, it seems that the blow had been forceful, so he asked her —A little bit of you?—

—That's the bare minimum— Rosewisse said angrily —you sent me there—

Viggo made a funny little smile, took out the bottle and passed it to him. Rosewisse didn't hold back and gave it a long sip. The next instant the pain passed and the bruise that was forming on her forehead faded.

—What do we do?— asked Rosewisse, holding out the bottle of this to Viggo. The latter received it and kept it in his ring.

—I don't know, but if it can't be accessed by jumping or flying, it must be an elevator, and if so, there must be some mechanism. Look at the nearby walls, I will look at the pillars on the other side—

Viggo and Rosewisse searched for a few minutes and found a button hidden between the cracks in the wall, at ankle height. By pressing said button under a circular platform with a lever like a ship's rudder. Viggo and Rosewisse climbed on, turned the lever and the platform went back up. The movement was slow, but that only raised the expectations of both.

Once the platform led to the top, they came across a huge rectangular room twenty meters long by ten meters wide. The wall on the right side and the pillars that marked the way to a door at the back of the room were gold-plated. The floor was obsidian stone with a lustrous sheen and on the left side was a huge bay window overlooking the top of the representation of the world tree, with its fuchsia branches and leaves made of energy. Viggo and Rosewisse looked at the image and didn't even move from the platform.

After a few minutes, Viggo looked into the room and saw that there were huge shelves full of scrolls attached to the wall. If the chambers where Odin had imprisoned the Valkyries had many scrolls, here it was absurd, dozens of scrolls, if not hundreds.

—We have very, much work to do— Viggo said as he moved his gaze over the seemingly unfinished shelves.

—There's a door with a stone seal over there— said Rosewisse, looking down at the end of the room. She looked at Viggo, he looked back, both of them walked briskly to the end of the room and stopped in front of the obsidian rock door with gold moldings and a stone seal in the center. Rosewisse didn't think twice, took out the chisel from the leather bag she wore tied at her waist, put it on the stone seal, and drew Kenaz's rune "<". The next instant the stone seal crumbled as if it were made of sand. Viggo stepped forward, stuck his fingers into the crevice that formed between the doors, and pushed them sideways. The camera continued with another room longer, at least a hundred meters long, shelves and more scrolls as far as the eye could see. However, there was out of place, a kind of wooden mural covered with cobwebs that was in the middle of the room, attached to a wall.

—Do you think Odin will be back soon?— asked Viggo, looking at the shelves full of scrolls.

—No, and I wouldn't worry— Rosewisse said with a big smile, she looked at Viggo, he looked at her, and she continued —didn't you say you were born lucky?—

Viggo made a wide smile, and they walked around the room with a quick glance and saw that in the background was another door. This was already crazy, complete madness. Viggo thought that Odin had all his knowledge stolen here, or at least, a large part of it. Rosewisse did the honors by breaking the seal and Viggo opened the door, but to his surprise, it was nothing special. Well, they were treasures, worldly treasures like precious stones, jewelry, and other valuables. Rosewisse hurried to a corner, stepping on the treasures, and picked up an ingot. She picked it up, looked at it closely, and then took out the ingot she had inside her bag.

—We already have enough Asgardian steel to make a weapon and armor— Rosewisse said with a big smile.

—Excellent— said Viggo, he advanced through the room, the treasures numbering in the hundreds. From coins, jewelry, crowns, scepters, and other valuable objects. However, in the end he saw a box and his instinct screamed at him to get out of there.

—Rosewisse— said Viggo, stepping back —Rosewisse— he insisted.

—What, Viggo?— asked Rosewisse —I'm busy, these things are beautiful—

—Come here, back up and drop everything you've taken, now—

—Why?—

—Because yes, come now, seriously, it's dangerous, listen to me—

Rosewisse finally looked at Viggo and the expression on his face said it all. It was fear, danger, and worry. She looked where he looked and saw a box on a pedestal, it looked like a small chest. He doesn't know if it was something unconscious or just because Viggo warned him, but shivered, he let go of the ingots and other treasures he had taken and began to back off.

—Don't leave me alone— said Rosewisse.

Viggo approached her, took her hand, and they continued to back up together. Once they left the room, Viggo closed the doors, and they breathed a sigh of relief.

—How did you feel?— asked Rosewisse to see if he had been careful enough or just scared of more.

—I felt the same danger as when I received Thor's hammer with my shield— replied Viggo, looking at the doors of that room as if they were an enormous danger —surely it is a trap for thieves. Seeing gold would be the first thing they would go to—

—Yes, surely— replied Rosewisse, breathing a sigh of relief and thinking that they had been saved from.

—First things first— said Viggo —let's study the scrolls until we find something, put together what seems important, and then talk about it. I will start from the bottom, you from the beginning—

—What if we take too long?—

—We rest, no problem, but the smartest thing would be to study everything we can, take everything and get out of here. If Odin finds us here it will be a big problem, surely, he has some defense mechanisms, perhaps, more problematic than the one in that chest.

—Hey, what if we tried to take the box without touching it through the dimensional space of your ring?— asked Rosewisse.

—It's a possibility— replied Viggo —but if we're going to do it, we should put my things in your bag, have read and saved the scrolls, and only at the end, try to take the treasures—

—I understand, it seems sensible to me, you start here, I go to the beginning of the room—

—Ok—

Rosewisse passed by Viggo's side, concentrating on what she had to do.

Viggo stared at her for a few seconds, she was in her golden Valkyrie armor —don't eat Idunn's apples as an appetizer—he said.

Rosewisse tripped over her feet and almost fell on her face. She turned to look at Viggo and yelled at him —Of course not, who do you think you're talking to?—

—With you, that's why I worry—

—You'll see, damn— Rosewisse muttered, turned around and continued walking to the room at the beginning.

Viggo stared at her, smiled, and then turned to the shelf on the right five meters long and three meters high, full of scrolls and next to the large window that overlooked the top of the representation of the Yggdrasil. He let out a sigh and walked over to the shelf, this would take quite a while, he thought.
