Viggo, Rosewisse and Ottar were in the room that preceded the arena where the monster Udaeus should be. In front of them were monsters of the skeletal type with swords, shields, spears, and axes. They were very similar to Udaeus in the sense that they were made of black bones, but these skeleton warriors called Spartoi, had legs, and moved along the sand. There were more than thirty, so Ottar had taken out his ultra sword and Rosewisse his katana, but they kept their distance.

On the other hand, Viggo was jumping in his position while counting the distribution of the skeletons and taking note of those that were closest. He made a slight jump and reached for the first "SE!" scream, threw a punch and crushed the skull of a skeleton before it could react. He then moved to another black skeleton with a spear. His eyes had a fiery gleam that made him look like a vengeful spirit. The skeleton threw a lunge with the spear, Viggo made a small jump to the right without disarming his posture, propelled himself forward and threw a kick the jaw destroying the skull in the process. Viggo was throwing punches as he went and quickly reduced the number of skeletons to ten.

Viggo breathed keeping calm and jumping in his position. He felt quite different from his usual self-using swords, bow or magic. It was a feeling he did not remember from his time of fighting with the thugs of the Dedalus region. His body felt light, his mind awake and tense, as if his brain were some kind of cloth that someone stretched to its limit. The ten black skeletons in front carried all kinds of weapons and looked at him with those igneous eyes that made them look like small Udaeus the size of a normal person. Viggo ran, let out a scream and then punched and kicked them one after the other until they all fell to the ground and vanished leaving a purple stone.

Ottar and Rosewisse approached and saw Viggo with his face breathed. No wonder, they had advanced quickly in the dungeon without rest and all the work had been done by him. However, Viggo did not seem upset or tired, much less gave the feeling that he was going to ask for a replacement.

—Well, at least you don't scream like a father— Ottar said with an awkward smile. Rosewisse looked at him in confusion and Viggo looked away with embarrassment. Viggo, not in a million years did he think of imitating his father with all those strange sounds like "puwaaa" and things like that. No, rather, he would rather die than imitate his father. However, Kain had explained to him that it was only a way to increase the strength of the blows, something any wrestler does instinctively. According to Kain, screaming causes air to flow with movement, the muscles in the abdomen naturally tighten, and the force of the blow increases. Viggo himself checked it with Ivaldi's mind and saw how the muscles tensed. Now, Viggo understood, but he preferred to use his own combat cries rather than do something as outlandish as his father. He wondered where Kain learned to scream that way? It was ridiculous to say the least.

—With this I hope Hitomi will be calm— said Rosewisse, picking up the purple stones from the ground.

Viggo saw her and said —Thank you very much—

—Rosewisse replied, picking up the last stone and getting up to look him in the eye, you've done all the work, so thanks to you—

Ottar looked at Viggo and asked —Are you going to continue?—

—Of course, I'm going to continue, if Udaeus is there, I'm going to beat him with my fists and feet— Viggo replied.

Ottar denied and added —If I see you're in trouble, don't complain if I help you—

—Sure, no problem, you're my life insurance if something goes wrong—

Everyone smiled, looked at each other, and then looked at the end of the room where there was a wide wall of white stone. The three walked at a slow pace and when they reached ten meters away, the wall went down and I let see a passageway that led them to the next area, where with a little luck Udaeus was waiting for them. If the monster Rex was not there, the spiral staircases that took them to the next floor would be available without the need to fight. Viggo hoped that the rex monster would be there, that way he could test his strength, technique, and breathing ability with someone strong.

When they reached the end of the passageway, they saw the light of a desert area. When leaving the passageway, they saw the area of Udaeus, a wide sand of more than a thousand meters in length with nothing but earth and surrounded by rocky walls.

Viggo used his clairvoyance. His vision travelled for five hundred meters and reached the centre of the arena. The descent to the next floor was not available. That only meant one thing —wait for me here— he said, turning off his clairvoyance.

—If the worst happens— Rosewisse said, worried about what might turn up in this area.

—Yes, I'm trusting you and Ottar— Viggo replied, but he didn't stop or look back, he just continued to move forward as his heart pounded. All that could be heard were his footsteps on the barren land. In the distance you could see the rocky walls that marked the end of the sand. Roots were also seen protruding from the cracks and trees growing horizontally. Suddenly there was a small tremor, and fingers made of black bones were raised. Each finger was almost as something as Viggo himself. A skeletal hand rose from the ground raising a dust. Then another hand followed a couple of meters away. Both hands leaned on the barren earth, and something rose sharply throwing earth into the sky. The dust spread, but through it rose a pair of igneous eyes that looked at Viggo from ten meters high.

—I was waiting for you— Viggo said with a broad smile, he began to jump on his position. At the same time, the dust dissipated and the torso of a huge black skeleton with horns and red gems at the junctions remained. Udeaus, the rex monster, had awakened. This creature let out a bestial roar and the next instant stalactites emerged from the ground that advanced in the direction of Viggo. The latter jumped and moved to meet them, but at the last second, when it seems that the stalactites were going to reach him, he jumped to the side and stepped next to them. That was the great weakness of this magic attack, which only worked in one direction and could not change its course or turn back.

Viggo advanced as fast as he could towards Udaeus, but the latter again generated more stalactites. Viggo continued to move forward and once again avoided stalactites by the slightest margin. Udaeus let out a beastly roar, raised his huge bony hand, and released it against Viggo. The latter paused for a moment, took a good amount of air, brought his right hand back and shouted "SE!" then clenched his fist and received Udaeus' hand with a punch. The impact was powerful, Viggo's hand bled, but it was not broken. However, the weight was greater, and he could not push back Udaeus' hand. So, he crushes by hand on the ground like a fly.

—Viggo— Rosewisse shouted and ran without expecting anything. She materialized her blue-bladed katana, but Udaeus greeted her with a torrent of stalactites. She used her wings to soar into the sky and avoid attack, but Udaeus raised his other hand and struck it making it back to fall ten meters beyond.

At the same time, Viggo under the hand of Udaeus began to force to pull the monster's hand out of his body, but without the touki it was impossible. He let out a sigh of disappointment, covered himself in the red aura of the touki, and pushed Udaeus as if the big black bone hand that crushed him at first was nothing. Viggo stood up, summoned the sword of chaos in his right hand, and threw it back, extending the chain tied between his forearm and the sword pommel. Once the chain was extended ten meters, Viggo held it tightly, pulling it and with a latigo effect, the sword moved forward hitting Udaeus on the red sphere holding the left arm. The sphere was hit, crumbled into pieces, and the arm fell.

Viggo pulled the chain of the sword of chaos again, and the sword returned to his hand. Udaeus attacked him with his other arm, Viggo jumped, took a deep breath, threw back the sword, the chain extended and shouted a "SE!" the next instant shot of the chain and hit with the sword to Udaeus in the other shoulder with the same whip effect. The red sphere was shattered into a thousand pieces, the arms fell to the ground, and Udaeus was left without his two arms.

Udaeus did not let himself be defeated so easily and unloaded multiple torrents of stalactites. Viggo ran to meet him, evaded the stalactites by a slight margin, arrived in front of the monster and made a great leap. Viggo stood in front of the head of the rex monster, saw the fiery gleam of the eyes in the skull sockets. Viggo channeled soul strength to the sword of chaos, the blade was filled with a terrible fire. He threw the sword back extending the chain several meters and held it. Then he pulls the chain and hit the big skull with the sword using the whip effect. The blow was so strong that it shattered half of the rex monster's face and fell to the dying ground or the closest thing to that.

Viggo fell on his feet, approached Udaeus' rib cage, and stopped in front of the body. He vanished the sword of chaos from his hand and made the leviathan axe appear. Viggo channeled soul force and the axe was covered with a layer of ice. He took the axe with both hands and released it by breaking two ribs. He then unloaded the axe twice and broke all the ribs that protected the crimson core inside the rib cage. Viggo stopped in front of the core, took the leviathan axe with both hands, let out a roar of fury, and hit the core with all his might, shattering the red sphere into a thousand pieces.

Udeaus disappeared instantly, but Viggo frowned as he was unable to fight a monster without using the touki. He had beaten him, but he wanted to do it with the strength of his body How could he overcome his father if he was still so weak?

—Viggo, are you okay?— asked Rosewisse, stopping beside him.

Viggo turned around with a look of frustration but seeing that Rosewisse had some bruises on her face, he worried. Viggo approached, extended his hands, and touched her face —Are you okay?— he asked —What happened to you?—

—I wanted to help you, but you see, he found me unprepared, nothing serious—

Viggo stared at Rosewisse and then looked further back. Ottar kept his distance, he knew him better than anyone. So, he was sure him wasn't beaten, but Rosewisse... Viggo looked at her face again, she blushed. Viggo took the bottle of estus from his ring and held it out to him –drink and heal your wounds—

—Thank you— said Rosewisse —I'm considering rushing to your rescue more often, even if it's useless—

—Silly, it's not useless. It's always appreciated, it makes me happy that you care about me—

Rosewisse smiled, brought the bottle with estus to her pink lips, and took a long sip. Her bruises quickly faded, and her face was left as if she had never been hurt. Viggo smiled contentedly and she returned the bottle.

—What happened to you?— she asked —I saw that you couldn't hit the monster at first—

—I hit him— replied Viggo —the thing is, I'm still too weak and I need the touki to be able to defeat the powerful monsters—

—Well, nothing to do, the road is long—

Viggo smiled and nodded.
