The bee stared at the jar of jelly, it was like if a child was staring at their favorite snack. The walls were leaking rivers of sweet honey, and the air was laced with sweet smell. I tapped my foot impatiently as the little fuzz ball was thinking, the bee looked at me with a serious face.
Excursion: "So you decided what to do?"
The bee nodded as it gestured for me to follow it, I nodded and started to slowly walk across the golden room. Each and every step was sticky and made me feel like someone was trying to grab my leg and pull it down. I didn't like it, but it wouldn't stop me from following the bee.
There was a wall of giant honeycombs covered in a silky honey that was dripping onto the ground, this is one of the reasons why I'm making an ally out of the bee's. Firstly, they have access to a massive army of bee's that can be either warriors or massive bee's that can squish their enemies by landing on them.
And the secondly they had access to honey which is a very good resource to have, and if I can get my hands on it for free then I can sell it or use it to trade. The bee in front of me stopped suddenly, a massive bee flew past us, its brown fur was sticky because of all the honey it had touched.
I was shocked at how a bug that big could hold up its own size by using such small wings, it seemed to deny the very laws of gravity. The bee I was following looked at both sides like a kid who looks at the road to not get hit by a car.
We continued forward as the honeycomb walls were replaced by a smooth honey, it wasn't a thick substance and looked like it could break even if a rock was thrown at it. Though, I wouldn't try to do that unless you want to become a Swiss Kabob on one of the bee's drills.
While I was walking, I also noticed the lack of windows, it was very strange as even the bugs in Deepnest have windows. Some of the bee's started to go away, making the place more and more empty, until there was only warrior bee's roaming around. 'So this is the time when they sleep? I feel bad that I'm stopping this little guy from sleeping.'
I looked at the bee sadly as it looked like it was dozing off, I saw its wings stop fluttering as it fell to the ground exhausted. I picked it up and then put it in between my horns, it held onto them like a baby as it pointed forwards. 'I wonder where I'm going.'
I started to walk a bit faster as the honey started to make popping sounds because the air underneath was trying to escape. The sweet air was replaced with a cold wind, it seems like the wind came from outside.
Excursion: "Is the blizzard getting closer? If this blizzard hits now, then the bees could die."
I said seriously as I imagined snow entering the hive and covering the sleeping bee's suffocating them to death. I placed the bee who was calmly resting on my on the ground. I started to run forward, I am going to warn the queen of the blizzard.
I vaulted over a honeycomb that broke out of the ground and formed a wall, I continued running across this golden wonderland. Then I ended up inside a huge room that had many shiny decorations on the walls and roof. I saw a Vespa Queen Of Bee's, her fur around her neck was silky and smoothed out.
Her body was finely kept in shape, her black and yellow stripes ran down her body. Her face was covered by her gorgeous mane, I walked towards her slowly. She moved a little as if she was waking up from a good nap, then she turned her head and looked at me curiously.
She was visibly tired out, probably because she has to deal with millions of bee's. Even one mistake from a bee could mean something for the whole hive.
Excursion: "Vespa, I have a warning for you."
Vespa: "I know of the warning, the blizzard has been brought forth by the Pale King using his control of soul."
Excursion: "Everything has to include the Pale King…"
I thought, as my rage against the Pale King and his ways grew slightly more, I grabbed Sly's cloak and tightly held it. Vespa looked at me with a pity, it was like when a man looked at an injured dog on the side of the street.
The area grew colder, the blizzard was closing in. I looked at Vespa as she was contemplating something. Vespa tapped her mane as I waited, I felt worry about the bees sink into my heart.
Vespa: "Medium Thing, to stop this blizzard we will need to dissipate the soul within it. Such a task is beyond my capabilities, but you, a being made of a union of Pale Beings, should be able to do it."
Excursion: "Alright, I'll go and stop it. But before that, do you consider me an ally?"
Vespa: "I do admit that you will be a good ally for our Hive… But it cannot be a public alliance, the Pale King would instantly make us a target, and he will annihilate us."
I nodded, at least we would be allies even if it's not public. I started to rush out of the Hive, I was running and running. The honeycombs were now a blue icy texture and all the leaking honey was made hard ice. Sharp rocks of hail flew down from the sky, all the bees were panicking, it was truly chaos.
One of the bee's slammed their body into me, causing me to fall to the floor, I got back up and continued. Soon enough I was in the heart of the blizzard, there was white soul floating around in the air furiously.
I heard some hard footsteps, the ground shook. I slowly turned around as I pulled up Sly's cloak over my head like it was a hood. I saw a small figure who was swallowed by the blizzard, he walked forward and revealed a familiar face…
Excursion: "S-Sly?"
Sly: "*Chitter* It's in the flesh."
I said vulnerably as I saw Sly, he looked at me happily as he nodded, I ignored how he came back from the dead and started to run towards him. I hugged him, and then I felt a sudden jolt of pain. I looked down and saw his massive nail inside my chest.
