Riot

Michael invisibly followers a large patrol of guardsmen as they slowly march the prison, ready to take them out as soon as he was inside so he could open the door for Tiffania who was following from a good distance.

Things were going according to plan for the meantime as Michael follows the patrol, sticking closely behind them as they entered the prison's front entrance. Once inside he draws his weapon and is about to attack, but pauses when the patrol he was following suddenly strips off their armour to reveal Albion Loyalist colours and starts attacking the other prison guards.

"Julien?" he questions in surprise as said man throws away his guard helmet and charges into the fray. "Well, this'll be a piece of cake." he grins, turning visible again as he opens the lock and slams his shoulder into the front doors of the prison, opening it so Tiffania could get inside.

*THUNK-CREEEEEAAAAAAK!*

The loud sound draws everyone's attention momentarily, but once Julien notices Michael he gives a nod and continues fighting. Michael responds with a nod as well, drawing his blade and helping to finish off the men guarding this room.

The prison guards despite holding the home advantage were utterly unprepared for Michael and the loyalists. They'd momentarily retreated and formed a shield wall in one of the hallways to preventing any attempts to flank them, but this only bought them time and not anything else.

Julien and the loyalists didn't take notice however, slamming into the group after trading a couple of spells between the few mages that were present. The magic was mainly comprised of single-target spells, to avoid harming their allies, but these proved ineffective against the conjured magic shields and the shields wielded by the men.

Michael had thought that magic would play a far greater role in such a battle, but it seems that it takes strong and experienced mages to overcome the disadvantages presented by the battlefield. He didn't doubt for a moment that Loutiel or maybe even that criminal water mage in Antomiers would've been of far more utility than the mages currently present.

With a roar the two groups clash, the sound of colliding steel, grunts of men, and puncture of flesh echoing through the prison halls. Michael could hear the prisoners in the distance cheering for whoever was fighting their captors, and decided to complete his objective instead of doing all the loyalists work for them.

He Blink Strikes behind the shield wall and cuts one man down, causing the others to look in his direction as he runs off towards the cells, the guards only now realising that he was twirling a keyring on a finger.

This distraction proved great enough to sway the battle, causing the guard's makeshift formation to collapse as the loyalist began cutting them down. The guards begin to try and flee down the hallway, but all stop in place as they come face to face with hundreds of now freed prisoners.

The criminals grin as they hold up their weapons, shivs, pieces of rotted wood, stones, and any other makeshift weapon that could be created despite the close watch of the guards. The guards beg for mercy, but it falls on deaf ears as the prisons take revenge against their captors who'd treated them like swine, not uncommonly beating and mistreating them regardless of their supposed crimes.

Tiffania had clumsily run in halfway through the battle and attempted to help out by erasing a few men's minds, but her attempts to reduce the bloodshed some didn't really matter in the end as the guards had their throats slit once the battle was finished. Obviously, Tiffania wasn't a fan of that, but this was a battle with multiple neutral parties, so it was to be expected.

"Sir Mike! We thank you for your assistance, but we must leave for the Prince, no doubt Cromwell will not take this kindly!" Julien says as the escaping prisoners loot the guard's bodies for weapons and armour before running off into the city.

"We'll follow, different objectives, same place." he remarks, glancing at Tiffania as she nods in affirmation.

He and Julien didn't say much to one another afterwards, instead focussing on the tasks set before them. They leave the prison but are not prepared for the warzone they'd found themselves stepping into. Unbeknownst to Michael, someone had managed to both enrage the dragons break them of their restraints, freeing them and allowing them to begin to raze the city to the ground... And with the majority of the city's guards crippled, paralysed, or killed, Londinium burning to ash is the most likely result by the end of this conflict.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cromwell observes all of this from his palace, servants occasionally visiting him to give reports of what was occurring around the city. The dragons were obvious enough, and he had an idea who was responsible, but the prison break could only be due to the loyalists.

With almost half of his forces dead, crippled, or completely paralysed from some sort of poison, things had started falling apart incredibly quickly. Perhaps he'd been far too quick to rule out the loyalists... He'd thought the war already won, but with the resistance they were putting up now, it was clear that the war was only paused until they could free Prince Wales...

Indeed, Prince Wales was the focal point in all of this. Despite the distractions and destruction occurring around the city, he was their end goal... So, perhaps he should just cut to the chase?

"Men! Prepare the Prince for his 'trail', we will begin it atop the palace walls, let these rebels and traitors watch as their Prince dies!" he announces, but pauses while fiddling with his ring, "Oh, and have Ralf Kaliker arrested for treason, if he resists, execute him." he states as he starts heading up to the palace walls.

In response to his words his servants all run off to start hastily preparing the stage. Some leaving to announce the events to the city despite the chaos currently occurring. While others took the opportunity to flee this utterly doomed situation.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The prison was fully open, and with this objective completed, Michael and Tiffania leave with the loyalists towards where the stage for Prince Wales execution was set. This was not an easy task however, as at every corner of almost every street there was something fighting.

Dragon Knights trying to restrain their beserk familiars, guards cutting down both criminals and looters alike, the loyalists cutting a swath through any who attempt to impede them, with Michael and Tiffania assisting them.
