The nobles and the knights stared at each other for a bit, before some of each started voicing out their opinions on the matter. The knights didn't speak much as most of them had already chosen who they would follow, unlike the nobles who started talking about Felt once more.
"She doesn't have the self-awareness to become a ruler."
"You might dress her up, but she still lacks grace."
"She's uneducated as well."
The nobles would speak only ill of her, they saw only the bad things, as most of them were looking down on the girl, not to mention some other candidates for the throne as well.
But soon, one of the elders of the wise men, silenced the nobles, before asking Reinhard how he found Felt. And Reinhard did as he was asked, as he kneeled on one knee and started explaining how he found Felt, but the moment he mentions founding her in the slums, the nobles were outraged.
The nobles didn't like it one bit, but while this fare continued Kaji looked at a knight he recognized. He saw another, but Julius Juukulius which was ignored by Kaji for some reason, as he just didn't see any reason to even involve himself with the guy. After all, Kaji could use him in the future if needed, but in the end, he wasn't actually sure how strong the guy was, and till now he didn't see anything other worthy about him.
Julius Juukulius is Anastasia Hoshin's knight and a member of the Royal Guard. Julius is a tall young man of a well-built muscular stature with yellow eyes and gleaming violet hair that is arranged neatly with a strand hanging down his face. He almost exclusively wears the formal Royal Guard uniform.
Julius felt someone looking at him, so he turned his head to see who it was, but the moment he turned his head he saw Kaji, who smiled at him. He was a bit confused, but nonetheless, he nodded to him, before turning his head back towards the candidates. He didn't know why but showers went on his back, he knew who Kaji was, and he knew how monsters the Oni was. After all, one time he witnessed a sparring match between Kaji, and Reinhard, and he knew that he couldn't keep up with them, and that was a couple of years before.
From then on he increased his daily training, he tried to become stronger faster, so if need be he could at least hold on to them. After all, he didn't know what might happen, and therefore he knew that if he wanted to keep Anastasia Hoshin safe from future enemies he must become stronger, still he hoped to never fight the two red-haired monsters if possible.
Kaji smiled, but before he could think a bit more about the current situation, the royal candidates were called up from with their chosen knights/attendants, or well in Emilia's case a mage. After all, the girl didn't have a proper knight, as her only supporter was Roswaal who was a mage, but even so, it worked out well, after all. Roswaal was known as the strongest mage in the whole kingdom, so his support meant a lot more than some would have thought.
Of course, he looked out of place, but not like it mattered much. It took some time, and soon all of the candidates finished with their speeches and introductions.
"The Astrea family offers a gutter rat to rule us, while Margrave Mathers Endorsees a half-devil? User foolishness!" One of the wise men spoke out.
Kaji continued to watch, but then he heard one of the so-called wise men call Emilia Half-devil. And at this moment Kaji decided that it was time for him to speak up. Kaji started clapping his hands together to get everyone's attention.
"You surprise me, to think that one of the so-called WISE men would insult royal candidates and right to their faces. To call another human a gutter rat, just because you find yourself in a higher position than other people, especially the so-called commenters or the people who struggle all their life to survive like those from the slums. And not to mention calling a half-elf something like a half-devil, it makes me wonder which side of her are you calling a devil? the left part or perhaps the human part?" Demolus asked, looking at the bald man who was speaking just before him.
The man wanted to speak, but Kaji only needed to glare at him, and the man couldn't say anything anymore. Kaji smiled and continued speaking.
"So tell me, knights, if the one to be insulted next was the person to whom you have pledged your loyalty, would you let this go? Or would you demand some sort of payment?
Not to mention that the one to insult a royal candidate was a wise man, so how could any of you trust people like this? I think the one who throws around insults like this towards royal candidates should offer up his life in apology, don't you agree?" Kaji asked while looking at the knights who seemed to have some sort of fire lit inside them, as their eyes burned with the desire for justice.
