Chapter 22

IN a white room that wasn't too big, Rio and an obstetrician were sitting opposite each other in their chairs. Rio carefully listened to the doctor's explanation of Laras's condition. Before explaining, the doctor was still busy recording something on a form in front of him.

"You're the caretaker of Mrs. Laras?" asked the doctor.

"Yes doc, she is___meaning my housemaid at home." Rio almost missed saying Laras was his wife.

"Where's her husband? I need to talk to him, it's quite a serious matter."

Rio paused for a moment to find an excuse that could be given to the doctor, there was no way he would confess after what he said earlier.

"Sorry doc, but she has separated from her husband, and now lives at home with another maid. Since no one was home, my sister and I immediately brought her here, we were too panicked."

The doctor nodded in understanding.

"Look, about Mr. Laras's condition. Currently Mr. Laras's stomach acid has increased and it is also affecting his blood pressure, this is because Mr. Laras is experiencing stress symptoms as well. I hope you can tell him not to think too much, plus. Muscle and the fetus stiffened, that's what made him feel so much pain." He explained at length and Rio nodded in understanding.

"But it doesn't affect the development of the fetus, right? And does Laras need to stay the night?"

The doctor nodded.

"She can come home tomorrow morning when the IV runs out. That will give him some nutrition, I emphasize again. Please warn Mrs. Laras not to think too much and don't make her work too much. Please take care of her even though she is your maid."

Rio smiled wryly, why did it feel weird when the doctor called Laras a maid. But isn't it wrong for him to also call it that in front of the doctor. That's enough. Rio didn't want to think about it too much.

"thank you very much doc"

"Ow yes, this is a prescription for medicine that Mrs. Laras can take and some vitamins needed for the development of the fetus. You can buy it at the pharmacy." The doctor handed him the note he had just finished writing.

"Thank you again doc." Rio stood up and bowed respectfully before leaving the room, not forgetting to take the note the doctor had given him.

He walked out of the room with a tired and restless look on his face. This adds to his thoughts. Luckily he was able to get up quickly and immediately took Laras to the hospital, he looked at the note for a long time by Rio, it turned out that he had quite a lot of medicine to pay for. But that's okay, he thought. He rushed back to the emergency room where Laras was to again see his condition, he saw there Rafi was still faithfully guarding near the ward where Laras was being treated.

"Older brother? Already?" Rafi asked when he saw Rio beside him.

"Already." The answer is short.

"Laras sister why?"

"She's just stressed and needs to rest a lot and eat regularly. The doctor has given me a prescription for the medicine Laras needs to take"

"Stressed?" Rafi looked right at Rio who was still standing. "I can understand why Laras sister is experiencing this." He continued.

Rio frowned in confusion.

"Understood what? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing, I think you knows it too. But it doesn't." Rafi turned to look at Laras's sleeping face. Her face was still pale, Laras's condition was only known by Rafi and Rio. Because when the two of them came out, the house was quiet, everyone was asleep.

Rio who didn't get a definite answer from his brother could only stay silent, he rubbed his face slowly and he put Laras's medicine note on a small nightstand near the ward, he almost sat on the chair provided but he stopped when his cell phone rang because there was a incoming call.

His face suddenly confused as he looked at the person's name listed on his cell phone.

"Dinda"

Rio glanced at Rafi first, watching his younger brother who was also busy with his cell phone. He finally moved away from his sister a little so that his conversation could not be heard.

Pip

"Hello."

" Hello dear? Good thing you answered."

"Why?"

"I'm in Korea now, I've arrived at the airport."

DEG

Wait, why did Dinda come back so fast? Won't Dinda be back at the end of the month? This is too fast. Rio looked at Laras's ward, he was still asleep and Rafi was still there.

"Really? Why so fast, don't you think you'll be home at the end of the month, right?" he asked trying to be reassuring.

"I'm serious, and now I'm at the airport. If you want, you can come to my apartment. I want to see you Rio"

There was no answer from Rio, he was still thinking. He had to see for himself and confirm. Doesn't he also miss Dinda a lot, after all Laras has been taken care of by Rafi right? So it's okay if he's gone for just a little while. It's better for him to go than to stay here.

"Is it okay if I come over to your apartment at this time of night?"

"It's okay, I miss you so much. Don't you want Rio? My manager won't come anyway." Sulked Mina on the other end of the phone.

"Of course I will, call me when you get to the apartment. I'll be there, but I won't be long. Because it's very late."

"Yes, i will wait for you"

"I love you"

"I Love you too, Rio."

Pip

The phone hung up, he walked over to Laras's ward to tell Rafi that he was going away for a while.

"Rafi." Rio patted his brother's shoulder lightly.

"What is it?"

"Can you look after Laras for a while? A client called me suddenly. This is very important. So I leave Laras to you."

"What? Are you kidding? What if something happens, can't you just shut up? She's your wife."

"Shhhhhhh please... It's in a public place, what if someone overhears. I'm just going away for a while, I'll be back quickly."

Rio patted his younger brother's shoulder then left the emergency room, he didn't even pay attention to Rafi's call to him. He's only going to be gone for a while, after all
