After spending her time with her friends, Ava returned home. She was again alone, but that was her fault. When Felix asked her to let him come along, she rejected him plainly for not disturbing their couple's time.
"Ava, don't be scared. You are brave enough to take care of yourself", she kept muttering under her breath, trying to divert the mind from thinking about the presence again.
Ava walked, holding her bag as fast as she could. To reach her house, she had to walk through the forest. Initially, it didn't scare her earlier, but after experiencing some unknown presence, she could help but doubt herself.
It was already getting dark as the sun had already set. She tried to return as soon as possible before it got too late. She cursed herself for not allowing Felix to come along with her and only hoped she would reach her home as soon as possible.
She kept walking, looking down when she felt someone pass by her. Ava halts her steps with the sudden swish of air she feels passing through her hand. She gulped in fear and turned to look at the side, but she couldn't see anyone.
"Whose there..." she called out if someone was watching her.
She kept looking around but didn't get any reply. Only the sound of leaves could be heard as the wind kept blowing lightly.
Fear crept into her heart, and she moved her legs as fast as possible. She didn't want to wait for something terrible to happen. What if a wild animal came to their village?
She closed her eyes and walked without looking back when she was pulled by her arms, banging her body on the tree.
"Ahh.."
Ava was pulled with an extreme force that she didn't get any time to register what happened in a second.
Her body touches the tree, making her lose her strength. Her eyes were wide open when she saw a man in front of her.
The man didn't look like an average human. His white skin shone under the moonlight, and his red eyes were drilling holes all over her body. His face looked like he had lost all his blood.
Ava watches the man in front of her in horror. Ava studied the existence of vampires only in books, but the man in front of her made her believe in the myth.
"Got you..." the man smirked, looking at her face and making her shiver under his cold body.
Yes, his hand that held her was as cold as ice without a bit of warmth in them. She kept looking at the wild creature in front of her as her knees got weak as she kept boring into his eyes. She felt her mind was being controlled by him, making her submit to him.
He smiled and leaned forward as he breathed her scent, trailing his breath down her neck. Ava kept looking at him without blinking as her mind had already stopped thinking.
He had already captured her mind making her senseless, deprived of thinking about where she was and with whom she was...
"Ready to taste you," he said, opening his mouth as his fangs came out like wild animal teeth, ready to pierce her skin.
"It won't hurt, "he said and leaned in to poke them in her skin when he was pushed by a heavy force making him fall a few miles away from where he was before.
Ava kept standing still as her mind was still under his spell.
"Did you follow her?" the man said, looking at the massive wolf in front of his eyes.
"I thought you were dead", he huffed and walked to the wolf.
The wolf growled, watching the man walking his way. His red eyes were stuck on his enemy.
"Don't worry.. let me show you the path of heaven" the vampire sped up the wolf pushing him against the tree.
"You disturbed me with my work" he laughed and punched the wolf.
The wolf growled, and in a swift, he hovered over the man taking him under his vast body. It tried grabbing his face, but the man was moving his head, bouncing back his attack. Using his force, she pushed the wolf and stood straight.
"You won't give up right then...let me take you once and for all", he attacks the wolf holding his neck, trying to chock it to death.
Ava's mind was snapped out by the spell when linked was broken.
Ava's spell was broken when she heard the growling sound as she was pulled out of the trance. She stood against the trees when she again listened to the sound.
Her eyes looked at the colossal wolf attacking the same man who had held her.
Her eyes widened when she saw how fiercely they kept fighting each other.
She walked to look more clearly when her steps halted, watching the wolf breaking the man's neck and throwing it away. She moved back when his head fell in front of her legs, gasping in horror.
The most horror scene she experienced in front of her eyes. Ava felt her lungs were out of the air as her breathing became heavy, watching the horrifying scene the front of her eyes. Her eyes became serious as her head started spinning, looking at the head lying down in front of her neck.
Her head looked up at the wolf, whose back faced her as it slowly started shifting its form turning it into a man.
Ava felt she had had enough for today as her head kept spinning, making her fall to the ground as her body became limp. But before her head touched the bed, she was held by a strong arm, and the last thing she heard was the man calling her name," Ava...."

Ava stirred in her sleep as she felt pain all over her body. She slowly opened her eyes only to find her father looking at her with concern all over his face.
"Father.. when did you come" she tried getting up, but Coal made her lay back again.
"You need rest Ava" she heard him say.
"But..." his words didn't come out when Coal cut her.
"What happened to you Ava?" she frowned and again got up to sit, but this time Coal didn't make her lay back.
She looked at her father with a questionable expression. What was he saying ? she thought.
"Father, what happened to me" she shrugged her shoulder, asking him back.
"You were unconscious for five days, Ava".." he told her, making her eyes widen in shock.
She was trying to grab her thoughts when the images of that night flashed in front of her eyes.
"Karissa found you lying outside our house", he informed.
Ava turned up to look at her father's worried face. Should she tell him everything she witnesses in front of our eyes? Would her father believe her words? she thought, looking at her father.
They never believed that creatures like werewolves and vampires existed in this era, but what she saw that day was crumbing her beliefs. They still lived, but how and why was she the one to witness them?
"How did you faint? And what's this mark on your hand?" he showed the bruise on her hand as if someone's fingers traced over her skin.
Ava tried recalling the incident, but she couldn't remember how this mark came.
His mind only went to the face that she saw before passing out. How the wolf turns itself into a human form as if his anger had subsided after breaking the man's head like a porcelain pot.
"You don't have to stress. First, take some rest and.. we will discuss this later" Coal saw her not responding to his question, so he thought not to pressure her more and let her rest.
Nodding her head, she laid down again on the bed while Coal left her room to prepare something for her to eat.
"Five days... I passed out for straight five days?" she felt weird thinking about her unconsciousness.
"How can this happen?" she thought, watching the white ceiling above.
***************************
Ava had been feeling better than in the morning. Coal had been feeding her healthy food. He still didn't ask her to talk about how she fainted, and she was relieved that he didn't pester her to answer him.
What was she supposed to say to her father? He would think she had lost her mind. But she had to discuss this thing with someone who would believe in her words, and it was no other than Juliet.
Ava was all okay after the whole day's rest and had got her energy back. She thought of visiting Juliet the next day when her father would be out for work. She should make sure not to let this blurt out except Juliet. She hoped at least she would trust her words and not think of her as a crazy person.
The next day Ava got ready to leave at Juliet's house. Coal had already left the house for work, and now she was all alone. Her father had asked her to stay home and not go out, but she wanted to talk to her, and it was the only time she had. So she decided to sneak out and return before her father came.
Taking a final look at her in the mirror, she left the house, but this time she decided to travel in the horse carriage. She didn't want to experience anything horrifying like the other day, so she decided to take a carriage to be safe.
"Hope she understands my words.." Ava prayed silently and rode to Karissa's house.
