Ava felt her body was losing her strength as she kept running into the woods away from the dark that was slowly trying to reach her. Her eyes were focus on the white sting of light that she kept seeing in front of her eyes. She was running to catch her only hope but the more she ran, she felt it moving away from her.
"Please don't go.." her voice cracked as if it was losing it sound slowly making her voiceless.
Her throat went dry slowly making her loose her voice to even shout for help. Her legs were slowly falling weak as she kept running god knows for how long just to catch the light, but it seemed to far than her hold.
"You won't reach there" she halt her steps when she heard the familiar voice which made her still on the ground.
Ava's eyes widen when she saw the light slowly dimming as it vanished in the darkness making her feel failed.
She turned to look back as she felt the presence slowly approaching her. She could not see the face in the dark but one thing that captures her attention were the red eyes which shined in the darkness.
"Who are you?" she fumbled on her words barely uttering them from her mouth.
Ava was sure, she had heard this voice somewhere but why was she not able to recollect whom the voice belong.
As she kept looking for the person to show his face, she saw the red eyes making its ways towards her slowing opening its mouth showing its big fangs as it jumped on her to attack...
"Ahh...."
Ava snapped opened her eyes sitting on the bed looking around her surrounding. She panted heavily as her eyes kept scanning the place trying to get back her senses.
Soon reality stuck her making her nerves calm down when she realized it was just a dream. Her breathing became steady and she wiped the sweat from on her forehead. Ava knitted her brows remising how real it felt as if the fang would pierce her skin taking her life in one go.
"But who was the person calling her?" she thought trying to calm herself after the waking up from the horrifying dream.
This was the first time she had seen such a scary dream which felt too real to be called as a dream. She turned to look on the other side of the bed only to find it empty.
"Did he not come yesterday night?" her eyes where fixed on the empty side as her palm slowly rested on it trying to feel his presence.
"What are you doing Ava?" she thought pulling her hand back after watching her missing his touch on the sheet.
Brushing of her stupid thoughts she climbed of the bed, when her eyes caught something in the mirror on her dressing table.
"How is this possible?" she frown walking close to the mirror having a better view.
"No way..." her fingers traced on the mark on her neck which looked fresh as if it was made just a while ago.
Ava was confused to find the mark and was more thoughtless thinking about how it came. Can it be the dream she thought was actually happening in real, but how can this be possible when she was no longer in the dark place.
Her fingers were still on the mark which appeared suddenly on her neck out of nowhere.
"I need to shut the windows at night, what if some cat have came in and scratched my neck" she muttered slowly watching the mark which looked like a bruise not like cat nails.
Ava was busy guessing whom this marks belonged to when the door of her room opened and Agatha came in," Your highness, should I ready your bath".
Agatha's slow voice broke Ava's thought making her turn to look at her only servant or friend in the palace who she felt connected with.
Nodding her head, she went to have her bath getting ready to have another boring day in this lonely palace.
Agatha was combing her hair when she heard a knock on the door. Retreating herself she went open the door only to find the knight stand outside with a news.
"Sorry for the disturbance your highness, his Majesty have asked you to have breakfast with the family" he bowed down and retreated back after informing her as he left the room leaving her dumbfound.
Ava had no idea how the member of this family where, though she had only learned about them from Agatha. But, she didn't knew how they as human were or maybe werewolf....
Giving herself a final look in the mirror, she left the room along with Agatha. Ava had never felt so nervous around people but here she was going to be having her breakfast with the pack of werewolf's. She wanted to cry as her heart was beating fast guessing how they will look at her..
"Hope they don't pounce on me as if I'm their prey" she prayed silently following Agatha as she guided her to the dinning area.
Reaching at the entrance of the dining room, she was welcomed by her handsome husband. After they came back from the hoarse ride she didn't see him. Ava thought he would be back next to her like their wedding night, but to her surprise she haven't heard anything from him.
Her heart skip a beat when his lips curled into light smile as his eyes sparked looking at her. She never thought a mere glance from him would make her so happy.
Walking to her, Dominic stood in front of Ava with the smile still on his face as he went to hold her hand. Lifting it up, he kissed her knuckles before pulling back," You look beautiful" he said not leaving his eyes from her.
Ava felt his compliment touchy as if whatever he said came directly from his heart. She never had anyone who would compliment her except her father and Juliet, but him praising her made her more happy.
"Come let me introduce you to my family" he held her hand taking her inside the dinning room, where every member of the family was present.
Ava eyes widen in shock to see the table full of people whom she didn't even seen for once from the time she came here.
The rectangular wooden table had maximum eight chair, four on the left and four on the right. One chair on one end for the head of the family where she saw an elderly man siting. He had worn his king robe but didn't worn his crown making her think if he was the former. But then where was the former queen she was not to bee seen.
Pulling one chair for his wife, he made her sit on it, taking the chair next to her for himself. Even though he was the king he still preferred his father to take the head seat. He only liked to show his power on the war field not in front of his family.
Ava was sitting quietly trying not to show her nervousness making them angry. She was only aware of her husbands pervert nature even though he scares her sometimes.
"Why is the queen silent" an elderly voiced made her lift her head to the direction which it came from.
Atlas was watching the girl silently following her husbands steps as he guided her on the dinning table. He didn't thought Dominic to be so considerate around his wife taking care of her in every steps.
"Father maybe sister-in-law is nervous" Liam's jolly voice made her look at him.
"Am I right?"
Ava was stun to look another man just like Dominic, the only difference where his hair which were brown giving him a decent look. She kept looking at the man who had this angelic smile on his lips which showed him to be playful person.
"No.." she shook her head again bowing down in embarrassment.
Was she so obvious that made her look like a scared kitten in front of them, she thought clutching her dress in nervousness.
"Liam stop teasing her" Atlas stern voice made the younger one silence.
"Ava.. you don't have to feel nervous. We won't harm you" he again said giving her an assurance for not to feel scare of them.
"Hmm"
Her silent response made the king chuckle, he knew she was new and would take time to adjust with them. Not wanting to scare her anymore he asked everyone to have the breakfast.
"Did you forget to introduce me brother-in-law" Vincent who was sitting next to Liam felt outcaste when no one even dare to introduce him.
"I think there is no need for my wife to know about strangers" Dominic turned to look at the man who was next to Liam.
Dominic had never liked that man but because of his sister they had to endure him.
"How can you call me stranger when I'm the only son-in-law of this palace" Vincent was not ready to let anybody forget what position he had in the palace.
"I will not take such words for me father-in-law" he stood up in anger slamming his hand on the table.
"How can you treat me as a fly in absence of my wife" he again flared in anger but no one respond.
Kate and Valeria were out for some day as they had some work to complete before they came back. And he knew no one would pay heed to his words unless his wife was here.
"We all know what position you hold here but did you forget why are we tolerating you" Dominic have had enough of his nonsense and one word again from his mouth he would forget what was his relation with him.
