At breakfast the next morning Hermione and Mia are eating porridge when they screech of owls interrupts them. A black tawny owl neither girl recognized landed in front of them. Mia hastily turned over the letters. The girls examined the intricate black seals. The Dark Mark! She looked at her friend who stood up. Mia followed her up to their shared bedroom where they both sat on Hermione's bed. They tore open the letter and began to read.

"Mia what's wrong?" Hermione asked as she watched Mia slip a ring on her finger.


"I've been promised to Draco Malfoy!" Mia said.


"Oh wow, are you happy?" Hermione asked.


"Yes I think!" Mia said with a weak smile. 


"Letter," Mia said. "Can change everything!"
