The day of Katacuesta is here.
Kali, Sinta, and Biel went outside together after being dressed for the occation.
Kali: "Today is the day! But I still feel tired even though I had just enough sleep this last night."
"So I still have to lend some time to make up for my sleep deprivation, huh." He whispers to himself.
Sinta: "Keep yourself together, Kali. Today is a very important day."
Kali: "I don't really get the importance of formality."
Biel: "I can agree with you on this one."
Sinta: "Katacuesta is the most glorius day of our empire as it is the day that we celebrate the achievements of Princess Kata, the most powerful magician in history."
"And as dignity is the atmosphere the occassion gives off, it is also the day that kings from the other kingdoms of Agham gather together in Capitolio City to speak of their own achievments in their kingdom, and discuss with the other kings about the important relationship matters with the emperor."
"That also means my parents will be here!" She screams full of joy.
Kali: "You must be longing for them very much."
"Well I knew of that, but I didn't really think of it that way. I guess formality is a way to respect, so it is especially important today as to respect the work of people before us for us, is that right?"
Sinta: "You're a quick learner! You must be pretty smart."
Kali: "Not really, I can't think on my own. The lack of real world experience renders me clueless."
Sinta: "Then why don't you learn from other people's experiences? You don't have to experience them yourself, you just have to ask people who knew of these certain things more than everyone else."
Kali, embarrassedly said: "Ah- Again, I didn't think of it that way." He laughs.
Biel: "C'mon Kali, torture is the cheapest way to gather intel."
Sinta: "That is not what I meant, psycho."
Biel: "You can't say it's not wrong."
Kali: "Good idea, Biel!"
Sinta: "You're influenced way too easily!!"
Biel laughs: "You're strange, Kali."
"Stay that way." He calms down.
Kali: "Why don't you bring your fiancee with us, Biel?"
Biel: "There's a bit of a problem."
Kali: "It doesn't matter, I'll make it work."
Biel hesitantly: "Well you see, she's of a perlas origins."
Kali: "That's it? That's not even a problem to me."
Biel: "But it is a problem if the colonel finds out."
Kali: "The colonel cannot disobey my orders. As I said, I will make it work, and I will never back down on my promises."
Biel: "If you say so. I will tell her to get changed." He left.
In a little while, Biel came back.
Biel: "I already told her. She said she's thankful to you."
"I want to thank you as well, dude."
Kali: "Don't mention it. The more the merrier." He smiles.
Biel: "It's pretty early in the morning. Let's sit somewhere while we wait for the colonel."
Kali: "So Colonel Vint is coming along with us this time too."
"He's been the one watching over me from the previous festivals back then."
"He's probably here to monitor your performance as well, Biel."
Biel: "I've heard that the colonels of the Agham Army are insanely strong. Only next to General Henos in terms of power."
Kali: "That is true, but that's not always the case. You see Colonel Vint isn't strong enough to meet the standards of a colonel, but his magic is extremely effective in war or battles where many soldiers are involved, which is the main reason he was promoted to colonel in the first place."
Biel: "What even is his magic?"
Kali: "He is an arch mage capable of controlling a massive area, affecting people within it. Unlike most arch mages, not only can he attack battalions of soldiers all at once, but he is proficient enough to be able to use his magic as a means of support for his allies. Although as most arch mages, he doesn't have much of an advantage in a one on one battle."
"Don't get me wrong, he is still strong physically, but if he we're to battle his fellow colonels in a one on one fight, he wouldn't stand a chance."
A tall young man that seems to be around 24 years old walked towards them.
The Young Man: "Kali, If you we're to talk about me, make sure you wouldn't talk shit about me." He complains.
Kali: "Swearing in front of children as expected. Nothing less of the Vint I know. Hopefully Biel would replace you as my knight next year."
Vint: "Oh really? You're the Biel I've been hearing about from the royal knights, eh? From all the crazy rumors about you, I have high expectations to your performance, got it?"
Kali: "Don't you even try make some half ass report about him. You wouldn't get a chance with Ms. Gale without going through me first."
Vint: "Alright brats, you win. I will try to keep up with your stupid mischiefs this time."
Gale: "What is this all about now?"
Vint surprised: "Gale! I was just teaching these little rascals good manners!"
Gale looked at Kali.
Kali: "He was teaching us many vulgar words–"
Vint: "Now you're exaggerating it–"
Gale: "Vint! You really can't be trusted with taking care of children! You know these two kids have nothing to do with your rude behavior!"
Kali: "Umm, I'm here too–"
Gale: "No talking for liars, Kali! I'll give you an earful later."
Biel and Sinta hid behind Kali.
Vint: "See, they were more scared of you than me–"
Gale: "You're still saying something?" She smiles aggressively.
Kali whispers to Vint: "Is this really the woman you want to marry one day?"
Vint: "Can't help it, love is blind as they say."
Sinta: "I thought that only applies to ugly people?"
Kali: "Yeah. I think it fits her perfectly."
Gale: "I can hear you." She's getting annoyed.
Biel said nervously: "Your dress, we think it suits you perfect."
Gale: "Enough with all this. Let's head to the carriage."
Biel and Vint went ahead.
Amel came running.
Amel: "Princess, here are the cloak you've been asking for."
Sinta: "Thank you."
Kali: "Hm? "
Sinta held up the two cloaks: "Kali, let's wear these!"
Kali: "Sure, but what for?"
Sinta: "Don't you think we look like a couple in these?"
Kali felt embarrassed.
They both wore it. Sinta tied her long hair before putting on the hood.
Sinta: "There we go! Let's hurry before Ms. Gale gets mad again." She laughs.
Amel: "Take care young masters." He waved.
Kali: "Thank you, sir."
They jumped in the carriage panting after running.
Biel: "What's with those costumes?"
Sinta: "They're not costumes!"
Vint laughs: "Make sure to put on your hood, covering all the way to your face, Kali. Just let me not see your face once in a while."
Gale: "I think they both look cute with it."
Vint: "Really? I think so too." Simping hard on Gale.
Kali: "Vint, you shameless bastard."
The three kids laughed.
They chat for a while until Ymae arrived.
Ymae knocked on the door of the carriage anxiously.
Ymae: "I'm sorry to keep you all waiting–" She got scared when she saw colonel vint in his uniform.
Biel: "She's with me."
Vint, upon seeing her physical traits: "Say, did you happen to bought her legally, Biel?" He emphasized the word legally.
Biel: "And if I said no?*
Vint: "... "
"Then there is no problem."
"Get in."
Ymae: "Umm.. My name is Ymae, it's a pleasure meeting and being here with all of you."
She sat down next to Biel.
Sinta: "Nice to meet you too, Ymae."
Biel: "And what would you do if I were to say yes?"
Vint: "Know your position before asking questions, soldier. If you think your attitude would work on me just because you are performing a little above average, you are severely mistaken. Do not underestimate me, kid."
"That aside, I would answer your question."
"I would've fired you right here. But since you gave me the answer I wanted, you won't get fired, yet."
Gale: "Acting all cool and scary now, are we?" She laughed.
Vint: "Atleast be impressed!"
