Almost bitten

Chapter 36: Almost bitten.

"No.Why did you stop?, and come on. I'm not your princess, call me Elena." They raised up their faces to look at each other surprisedly and bowed their heads again.

"No, princess. The prince wouldn't like to hear us call you by your name." The first girl said. I heaved a sigh and placed my hand on the counter before me.

"What's your name, young girl?." She looked up at me and kept her head inclined again. "My name is Elise." I smiled, "Nice to meet you, Elise, you?."

The next girl looked at me, "Alia." Alia replied. Alia had an apron over her head and she looked just like the cook. I shook my head and turned to the next girl who was the one that attended to me everyday. She was the one assigned to me by Jake, and I've heard Jake called her name most of the time.

"You're Delilah. I know." I said to her, she gave me a small smile and I turned to the next girl beside her. "I'm Lila." She said,

"Cool. Since I know your names, I'll call you accordingly. And you do likewise, okay." They kept quiet..

"So, what are you making today, Alia?." I asked. "We're serving chicken piccata with fettuccine alfredo and broccoli today. We'll get it ready before dusk. If you are too hungry to wait, I can make a quick spaghetti with bolognese sauce."

Living with these people had made me become greedy for food. I would rather answer her with everything in the kitchen. "I already made some and I've served you the dish at the dinning." Lila said. I think it hadn't been an hour since I ate with Jake and family.

"No. I ate with the family." And Lila was the one to serve the food.

"Are you trying to get me out of the kitchen, girls?." I asked, giving out a playful glare.

"No, prin...uh Elena. You can stay as long as you want. Sorry, miss Elena." Elise apologized and others joined, "No guys. I was kidding, c'mon. Anyway, I'll be in the room now." I turned to leave. "Miss Elena." One of them called, I turned.

"The books you requested are on top of your bed." Delilah said.

"Thanks, Delilah." I mumbled before walking away. Miss Elena sounds much better, ah.

I sat on the cushion in the room, flipping into the pages of 'The Tale of two cities.' It was the first edition and I was astonished at how the first could be found here. I also noticed that all the five books she brought were of the first edition of each one of them. I was still reading 'The death riders' when I found myself dozing off.

I woke up, rubbed my eyes. I sat up on the bed and looked out of the window, the sun had gone down and I wondered what the time must have been.

I checked the wall clock and this was 5:25pm. I really slept long this time, and this was the longest sleep I've ever gotten in ages. I could remember I slept around 10:45am in the morning.

I freshened up and walked downstairs to the dinning. When I walked into the dinning, I met Jake's uncle eating. I stopped and gazed at him for a while. He never looked up, he was just... eating.

I gulped down and drew out a seat to sit. I mentally slapped myself for not asking Delilah to serve mine in the room. Sitting in the dining room with Jacobi might be extremely dangerous. For the fact that I got off with the king and queen was only because Jake was there to protect me. And where the heck was Jake?. Why didn't he come down for dinner?.

"Do you remember the day I abducted you with the hunters?." Jacobi asked, I raised my face to look at him. He smiled.

"I see you've forgotten how I let the hunters go because of you."

My mind went back to the day the vampires tied us, and was about hurting Cali before I begged him to let her go. I wondered why he brought that up. "You might wonder why I did that?." He faced me.

"Maybe you had mercy on us." He scoffed, "I do not believe I can do that to anyone. So, it's definitely not mercy. " He dropped his spoon and dragged my seat closer to him. My heart flew and fear struck me. I looked down, not able to look into his eyes.

"You look beautiful, lovely. You smell awesome." He kissed my shoulder softly and waggled his long nails down to my arm, leaving a mark of straight line behind.

I quickly stood up and stepped back. His teeth were extracted showing two long incisors. I gasped, I was frightened. And I took to my heels. It didn't take long before I saw him in front of me.

I stepped back, "No. You don't have to do this." He never budged, he was glaring at me with hunger filled eyes. He was gonna feed off me. Oh my God, the thought weakened my legs, and it was shaking rapidly.

My back is pinned to the wall and an insane fucking ugly vampire is in front of me ready to bite my neck. Is this really the end of me?. I don't need a fucking bite, not from demons. This is what I obviously avoided, who would save me?.

Jake isn't home, neither the king and queen. The maids had retired to their rooms and I was fucking alone with a vampire. The look he gave me said it all. 'YOU ARE SCREWED.'

"I can't resist you, my love," He touched my neck, obviously checking the right spot to pin it. I was becoming paler and frail. "Please, let me go." He gripped my arm strongly and I yelped. It was excruciatingly painful. I cried out..

My closed eyes waited for something more painful to come as I could feel his breath on my skin. I could also hear his heart beat so loudly.

It stopped, no breath, no heart beating, no pains on my arm, not on my neck either. I slowly opened my eyes and the person my eyes met was Stefan, I collapsed on top of him and lost consciousness.
