Chapter 58: He does not recognize me.

"I need to tell you something." She said, I watched her step forward and stood a few steps away. What is it that's making her this nervous?. I watched her breathe out and fold her arms.

"What is it that you want to tell me?." I questioned again. My eyes kept hovering around her as it perked up on what she wanted to say. Maybe she knows something about my mate. I had noticed she had been quiet in the car and I never made sense out of it.

"I'm not supposed to say this, but I think it's high time you know about it. Few days ago, I and Noami found out that Julia spoke to Wendy after the day Stefan got missing. We actually think she was behind the attack." I look at her for a while, not quite believing her.

"Are you sure about this?."I asked, narrowing my eyes at her. "She could have some business to do with Wendy. Maybe…"

"No, Elena, listen up." She rushed her words and squatted down before me. Her eyes kept ruminating into mine carefully. "We were there, babe. We saw it happen. I know you might feel that I'm lying against your sister.." I opened my mouth to talk but she continued nevertheless, "She told Wendy...I know you might feel I'm weak because I gave up my brother because of this, you know I'm much more powerful than you are." I sniffed in when Ava narrated it this way.

Sincerity in her voice, she continued.."Then she'd be the one behind the lightning that night. She was a royal after all."

"I do not know what to say seriously. If this turns out to be true, I swear I'm not gonna spare Julia. She's gonna pay for this." I snared, biting my lower lip angrily.

"And this is not the issue right now." I added, " We have to go back to West Linn tomorrow. This could be our last chance." I said and Ava looked worried.

"Don't worry, we will wrap this up tomorrow. They won't know we left the clan this time " I assured her. "If the princess finds out about it, I would be in deep shit. It might be my end too."

She was making sense. If my mom finds out, she would lose her life and that is one situation I do not want to find ourselves in.

"I will protect you. I promise."

I could have gone without her but there's no way I'm leaving this clan without being caught. Moreover I needed backup, I know I could try a few punches but we needed teamwork. I could manage Ava because she's strong and can fight for herself but not Diane. She could fight but I do not want to involve her.

I watched Ava parked quietly at the lot and we stepped down. When we stood beside each other, we spun our heads to each other. "The spy said the hunters were out hunting people. So they could stop by to drink and then the car over there could be theirs." She said pointing at the flashy cars parked off at the end.

"Be careful. Do not let Wendy see you and don't let your bond make decisions for you. Remember, if he's actually there, I'll find a way to let you get close to him." She said, I nodded and we started going into the bar.

My heart was filled with happiness when my eyes landed on him. My soul was drawn to him as I watched him from my seat. My Stefan looks fine to me, that's fulfilling.

My smile disappeared when Wendy leaned forward and kissed him deeply on his lips. My world stopped, my heart stopped beating and my eyes fixed at them in shock.

I watched Wendy laugh out loud when he whispered into her ear, he bit her ear lobe and drew her nearer so she settled into his arms. How could he do that to me?. Why did he forget me overnight and went back to his ex?. How could he be this heartless to reject me this way?. I subconsciously stood up and Ava grabbed my arm.

"Don't do what you're about to do now." She said, and pushed me back on the seat. I sniffed, "I don't want to see this anymore. Let's go." I said.

"No, Elena. You ain't going nowhere until you ask that nimp why he did that to you. You're gonna walk up to his face and slap him for this insult. But not this way, you gonna do that privately and I'll work it out for you." Ava whispered to me.

We watched the waiter Ava payed walked up to them with a drink. Stefan and Wendy sat on the couch when the waiter stood before them. He stretches out his hand to take the glass without looking, the waiter intentionally emptied the red wine on him.

The waiter fell down to his knees instantly and started to apologize to him. I watched Wendy stand up terrified and give him a hot slap across his cheek. This attracted everyone's attention to their corner. "Let him go, Wendy. Don't make a scene here. I'll go take care of this." He said, looked at the waiter and walked away.

"This is your time. Don't take time and be careful." Ava muttered as I started walking toward the same direction Stefan took.

I walked into the male's bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. I could hear someone peeing at the toilet and I knew he must be Stefan.

Just when I pretended to organize my makeup, he walked out. I looked at him from the mirror and noticed how he stood and watched me from behind, he turned to leave.

I turned, "Forgotten me so soon." I said and he stopped and turned. I scoffed, "Stefan, why did you do it?." I asked, strongly trying to stop my tears from rolling down my cheeks.

"Excuse me. Do we know each other?." I was confused by this but it could be he might be pretending not to know me.

"Stefan, are you being serious right now?." I knitted my brows with so much anger toward him. He didn't reply but fixed his eyes on me. "I do not know how you got to know my name, but I want to let you know that I don't know you." He said. Stefan is messing around.
