Chapter 64: Reconciliation with mom.

I just came out of Madame Maigret's office now and the answer was the same Ava gave me. I had even thought of the witch who bonded me and Stefan to the moon goddess but couldn't bring myself to go over to her place.

Regardless, the place looks scary and freaks me out whenever I remember that particular night. I gave up telling people to help me find answers and it was clear that the only person with the answer was my mom.

She won't think of helping me at all, she wouldn't let me out of the coven either. I dressed in a very simple gown which reached above my knees on very short heels. I walked out with my phone to where Ava was waiting for me. I stopped and looked at how Edward grabbed her by the waist and how she was grinning from ears to ears.

She managed to see me and quickly went out of his arm. She gave a fake smile and I felt guilty for interrupting them. I walked away to the other car and gave her a sigh to stay with her mate.

Back at the car, I sat with a blonde girl who had the same hair color that I have. I smiled when she returned and faced the window. The drive to the munch restaurant was awkwardly silent.

When we alighted, I saw Diane standing by the door, I waited till the werewolves had gone in with Ava. "Is it ready?." I asked and she nodded. I smiled.

Just when we sat down at the table, Diane climbed up the podium where some guys were singing. She smiled at me and cleared her throat using the mic. "Hello, everyone." She greeted.

"Gosh!. I can't believe I'm doing this." She said with a small laugh.

"I never really believed that Ava Olson, my best childhood friend, would be mated to a hot sexy alpha like him." She pointed at our table and everyone bursted into laughter. I clasped my hand on my forehead and bent down laughing. Really! I could remember what she said when she saw my shirtless mate.

"Do you know about this?." Ava asked amidst laughter. "Yeah. I didn't know she was this crazy." I referred to Diane,

"Wrong choice." Ava mouthed.

I watched Olivia step up on the stage and collected the mic from Diane. "Nah, a no from me. Are you drooling over the alpha?." Olivia asked, Diane collected another mic from the guy at the back.

"I'm not denying that!." A roar of laughter shook over the corners of the room. "Is she a human being?." The girl who had sat with me in the back of the car asked, "That's Diane for you."

"Wait, miss Diane. But you have a mate, huh." She looked at Ava, and then to her mate standing in front of the crowd. "Give him a mic, please."

Everyone waited to hear him speak, he smiled, "I understand, babe." He said and oo oo oh escaped everyone's lips.

"Gosh, I need an understanding boyfriend." Olivia said and another roar went round the hall.

It was time to give a speech.

I stood up and walked towards the stage, I was handed the mic. "Thank you everyone for attending this party. I'm really grateful."

Everyone's attention was drawn to me.

"Uhm..Ava Olson is the greatest friend you would ever have. She is such a beautiful, elegant and quiet girl, she is always there when you need her and she makes a good leader too. She helps even when she's helpless, she's a woman of wisdom, she's always had our backs and that's why I'm always ready to return her goodwill."

"If you break my girl's heart, don't worry, we are here to mend it and you gonna get ten fold of what you did to her. We are always available to fuck you up. If you know her, you've known good, enjoy her how you can but don't overstep. We love you, Ava Olson." I shouted the last part and everyone shouted after me.

The next morning, Ava's packed bags dropped beside the car, I watched her hug her mom, Naomi, Diane and finally to me. "I wish you good luck." She whispered, I smiled and patted her back as if this was the last hug I'm receiving from her.

"I'll come by oneday, Luna Ava." I said and she smiled and walked back to her mate. We waited for my mom to say the last sentence, "Take care of her. Our deal's sealed." She simply stated. Others except Alpha Edward bowed respectively to her.

We watched the car drive off and I turned to mom, "Can I talk to you, Royal princess?." I asked with my head bent.

In her office, she stood and faced me. "I've missed you, mom." I said, rushed and hugged her. I smiled when I felt her hand patting my back. She was hugging me back. I've missed mom so much, this is the first time I hugged her after 8 months now.

"I'm sorry, Elena. I'm sorry baby." She said and uncontrollable tears rolled down my cheeks and soaked on her gown. I disengaged from the hug looking at her face, she raised her hand to my face and cleaned my tears.

"Mom. We shouldn't fight right, can we go back to the way we were before?." I asked. "Yes baby. I'm not hard on anyone. I'm just stressed over the upcoming war. This same war could wipe off the whole universe and I'm afraid, this blow is coming from your mate's dad. They are cooking something evil."

"Is that why you've been unfair to us?'' Mom, is this the reason?." I questioned…

I remembered mom's words repeatedly in my head. We talked about alot of things, something that had been bothering her. She said her greatest enemy was Stefan's father, she also told me things, how Stefan's dad happened to be her mate but we settled on different things. I also told her about my new found idea of going back to hill town.

"We go on this mission once you've learned how to fight." Was her last sentence.
