CHAPTER 7 The Evil Eyes

Suddenly the man in her drawing appeared to her , it was the Old Armad

OLD ARMAD- The both of you has come pass your limit(he said in a scary double voice), this is the sacrifice time to the evil eyes and no human should step their feet here, but you two have,

REINA- why did you bring me here in the first place

OLD ARMAD- it is a must we bring two human of the opposite gender here every year as a sacrifice to the EVIL EYES.

REINA- so why us of all human?

OLD ARMAD- we can't just take an innocent, we search through the wish of all

REINA- how?

OLD ARMAD- we took people who serve as a burden to others

REINA- How?

OLD ARMAD- your aunty Dyani, you serve as a burden to her

REINA- how?

OLD ARMAD- We search her mind and her wish is for you to go to a land where you will never come back

REINA- so you act according to her wish?

OLD ARMAD- yes

REINA- what about him

OLD ARMAD-His step mother, he serve as a burden to her, and we grant her wish too

REINA- Why do you have to sacrifice us to the Evil Eyes

OLD ARMAD- that is the only way creatures of this wood can survive

REINA- why did you steal the evil eyes in the first place

OLD ARMAD- I have no choice, the evil eyes kill innocent children of this village

REINA- Rage?

OLD ARMAD- yes

REINA- why

OLD ARMAD- no one knows, I found out the only way to stop the evil eyes from killing the innocent children is only if we decided to give it sacrifice of two human of the opposite gender every year

REINA- But still not fair

OLD ARMAD- but better than all children to die at once, darkness fall inside this wood and it bacame more dangerous when I stole the EVIL EYES

REINA- so there is no solution than to keep sacrificing innocent children every year?

OLD ARMAD- we've all been living in darkness like this for over 300 years, still hoping to find solution one day

[ Reina kept quiet and she did not say a word]

OLD ARMAD- it will makes seven days tomorrow since that boy has set his feet in this wood, he will be sacrifice to the evil eyes tomorrow

REINA-No there has to be a way, what does the evil eyes want

OLD ARMAD- I don't know

REINA- why did you appear to me in my dream

OLD ARMAD- I do?

REINA- yeah you told me that "beware it now"

OLD ARMAD- I did?

REINA- yes

OLD ARMAD- I do not know anything

REINA- I guess it just a dream, but still I don't want to loose my friend

OLD ARMAD- by tomorrow he's gonna lost his soul forever and that is all that matters

[Reina begin to cry, she remembers how they met , how they fought and run a way from the serpent, how they climb the hill, how they cross the ocean, how they fought the demon and how he was hurt in her place, she remembers her parent, how her mother prepare the same type of food every morning, how her father woke her up with warm peck, she remembers how she had a lovely time with Beth, she remembers her drawing board, she remembers her room how she draws on the wall, she remembers her drawing soon she know something]

REINA- hey man why did you look like my drawing

OLD ARMAD- what are you talking about

REINA- now that am looking at it, I think am lost in my own imagination

OLD ARMAD- how

REINA- the wood, you, Mr Joe, Absinthe Aétos, the serpent, the mountain, the lake, the giant creature, the demon are all my drawing and they were all happening according to how I draw them.

OLD ARMAD-Really

REINA- Yes

OLD ARMAD- can you remember what next on your wall?

REINA- where is the evil eyes

OLD ARMAD- it vanished

REINA- so how do you do the sacrifice

OLD ARMAD- it constant when the human loose his or her soul the sacrifice is being made

REINA-( she breath in deeply) you. are. the. Evil. Eyes

OLD ARMAD- what?

REINA- the next thing on my wall is you with a dark greenish eyes, written under the EVIL EYES

OLD ARMAD- what

REINA- you appeared twice on my wall

OLD ARMAD- how can that be

REINA- the evil eyes didn't vanish, it inside of you

OLD ARMAD- so how do we get it out

REINA- you shouldn't be worried about how to get it out, you should be worried about how to defeat it

OLD ARMAD- how? what next on your wall

REINA- That all

OLD ARMAD- Then what will happen now

REINA-I don't know

[Reina and Old Armad start to think about how to defeat the evil eyes time passed it now another day, Daniel starts to breath heavily,]

REINA-Daniel, oh my God Armad what do we do

OLD ARMAD-Nothing let him loose his soul

REINA- how could you talk like that

OLD ARMAD- only you know the solution and you are not willing to say it out, then let him go

REINA- No

OLD ARMAD- what is inside your head, what did you wanna draw so bad

REINA- My aunty falling down

OLD ARMAD- is that what you wanna use the space left in your room to draw, is that how your imagination ends?

REINA- No

OLD ARMAD- Then listen to your heart, only you have the key to get out of this wood, without you this is the end

REINA- ( she start to cry) I don't know what I wanted to draw

OLD ARMAD- then the soul of your friend is in your hand

[Suddenly some image came to her view, she scream]

REINA- No, No , No

OLD ARMAD- what, did you see something

REINA- (she cry out like a baby) yes, I see you die, the only way to end this is for you to sacrifice yourself

OLD ARMAD- are you sure

[ Reina did not say a word]

OLD ARMAD- if me dying will change everything, I guess I have no choice

REINA- you are not going to do it, are you?

OLD ARMAD- I don't know, ( he takes out his sword and strike himself)

REINA- Noooo

OLD ARMAD- I've lived more than 300 years it more than enough

REINA- No

[ suddenly a powerful breeze began to blow, the darkness fades away, the temperature become normal, the lake of blood turn to water, all the demon and the serpent vanish Daniel become normal]

DANIEL- what happened

REINA- (smiles) you are awake

DANIEL- what just happened

REINA- everything is back to normal, we're free

[Daniel hugs Reina out of happiness, but Reina was not happy]

DANIEL- what is wrong with you

REINA- him

(they both rushes to Old Armad)

OLD ARMAD-I wish for nothing more than this that I see the brightness of this wood, am happy am finally going to go in peace.

( Old Armad close his eyes and he died)

REINA- he's dead, Old Armad, he's gone (she say crying)

[Daniel and Reina hug. each other and cry]

DANIEL- Let go

[Daniel and Reina went back home]
