Trina's POV
Weeks had passed before I could finally return to school. As soon as I entered the gate, I went straight to my professor's office to ask for notes so I could catch up before the upcoming exam.
I spent almost thirty minutes inside, as my professor also wanted to talk to me about my long absence.
When I entered the classroom, all my classmates stared at me. I turned to look behind me and saw him. He was staring at me too, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger at the look on his face.
What right did he have to look so sad in this situation? That wasn't the reaction I expected from him. I should be the one who's upset, not him.
And to top it off, the nerve he had to show up here at school, even though he wasn't really a student here.
It was infuriating how he still wore his disguise. He had tricked me once, and I was sure he would just go on to find another woman to deceive.
I walked straight to my seat, though I really wanted to shout at him, expose him as the billionaire he was, pretending to be a nerd. But I held myself back. I knew others might target his life because of his secret, and I wasn't that cruel.
After the first subject, I went to the canteen to eat. Pat followed me and clung to my arm.
"What's your problem?" I asked, not in the mood to argue.
"Let's eat together," she said, sticking close to me. When did we get this close?
"Are you sick, or is this just one of your weird moods?" she laughed quietly, still holding onto me.
"Why are you looking at me like that? I heard that Romeo is your boyfriend now, so I guess we can be friends," she said with a raised eyebrow.
I frowned at her.
"How could that even happen?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because I'm sure you won't steal Jackson from me," she said confidently.
"Excuse me! I'm not a thief, and wasn't it you who stole someone else's man?" I shot back.
She lowered her head and apologized.
I was honestly a bit surprised. This woman had too much pride to apologize to me, but here she was, doing it.
"Let go of me, I'm uncomfortable," I said, pulling her hand off my arm, but she still followed me.
"Trina, I'm serious. I really want to be your friend," she said, looking at me with wide eyes.
"What's gotten into you? Why do you look like a puppy now?" I said, putting my hands on my hips.
"Wow, a puppy? Do I look like a pup?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Do you really want me to answer that?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"Look, I don't trust people anymore. If you don't have anything else to do with your life, leave me alone and go bother someone else!" I shouted, then turned and walked toward the canteen.
What did she think of me? Foolish enough to believe her lies?
"One sandwich and pineapple juice," I told the vendor.
After receiving my order, I stepped out of the canteen and headed to the garden. I preferred eating there—it was quiet, and no students ever went there.
I sat under a tree for shade since it was a bit sunny.
I was about to start eating when I heard raised voices.
I peeked from behind the tree and was shocked at what I saw—Romeo and Liza were arguing.
They were having a discussion, and judging by Liza's expression, she was angry.
I couldn't hear much of their conversation since they were far from where I sat.
Suddenly, I remembered the last thing Liza had said to me at Enchanted Kingdom. If only I had listened better, I wouldn't be looking like a fool now.
But why were they together?
I covered my mouth in shock when I saw Liza slap Romeo, but what shocked me more was when Romeo kissed her. And judging by their body language, this wouldn't just end with a kiss.
I didn't know why, but the pain increased. Yet, why was I smiling?
I wasn't sure what I was feeling anymore. Romeo had belittled me so much, yet here I was, smiling. I clenched my fist and stormed toward them.
"Wow, what a scene!" I said with a smile.
They both jumped in surprise and quickly tried to fix their appearances.
"T-Trina?" Romeo said, looking at me.
"Romeo, it's you. You're amazing. Just a few weeks after we split, and you're already making out with this woman?" I pointed at Liza, raising an eyebrow.
I just wanted to tease him, to disrupt whatever they were starting, because I wouldn't let him treat other women the way he treated me.
"You're mistaken," Romeo said, which made me laugh loudly.
"Why are you explaining? I just told you two off because this is a school, and PDA is not allowed here. You should know that since you own this place." Liza approached me, hands on her hips.
"So, you already know his secret. How stupid are you, breaking up with a billionaire? You must be going crazy," she sneered.
Her words stung, and I slapped her hard, almost making her fall.
"H-How dare you!" she shouted, clutching her cheek.
"I'm not like you. I'm not a prostitute who will open up everything just because a rich man shows interest." Her eyes widened in disbelief.
"W-What did you say?"
"If there's anyone here who's a fool, it's you! Letting him deceive you!" I pointed at Romeo.
"Do you really think an ordinary student like you could end up with a billionaire demon, pretending just to get women he can sleep with? Wake up! You're not in some fiction novel!" I added.
After saying that, I left them both standing there, heads down. On my way back to the classroom, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.
Watch out, Zephyr Romeo Anderson. Starting today, you'll be facing a new Trina, and everything you did to me, I'll return to you, twice as hard.
