Arthur's mind was in choas debating on whether to go or not. He wanted to hunt down that girl who broke the promise. He then remembered what they talked about.
******
"I will." She replied.
"How do I trust you will?" He asked.
"Just take my word as a 'Rein'. I will keep it." She declared raising her right hand.
Seeing this, the students started gossiping.
"Are they lovers?"
"I think so. They came holding hands."
"I think Myla wanted to break up. He came looking for her like crazy bumping into everyone."
"Ahaaaa, I don't think so. She can't date someone of a low status. After all she's Myla Reins."
Others were already taking pics and posting them with the heading. 'Lover or Slave'. They bacame the topic of the day.
"Then I will follow you everywhere to make sure you don't say anything." He abruptly said.
"Are you being serious?"
"Yes." He said firmly. Myla didn't bother to reply as she saw his determination.
*******
"I will be right back." He said to Alfred as he got out before he could ask anything.
Arthur started moving to the administration block but with hesitation; all he wanted was to run and escape.
'I will go and see what happens. I will run after I confirm I have been discovered! But not before I kill that girl.' he thought. He was now currently standing in front of a black door. It was General Collins' office.
'Knock! Knock! Knock'
"Come in." He heard the voice from inside before he opened the door entering and Immediately saluted.
"Mr. Zane, please have a seat." He gestured him to the seat in front of him. But Arthur's eyes were darting around the room; scanning everything preparing for the worst.
It was a cozy office. A table at the end with two flags on top. A window behind it. On scanning it closely, one can fit.
'Perfect!' he inwardly rejoiced at least he could narrowly escape.
"I bet you already know why you are here." General Collins stated.
At this point, Arthur's heart accelerated but he hid his expression under a poker face.
"No, I don't think I know." He replied.
"Then, well and good. It means news didn't travel." He was amused.
'What?! It means am doomed. Then I have to go now before it's too late.' he thought as he calculated how he would get to the window.
"Then I will have to ask you a few questions."
"How has your stay so far been?"
"Not bad." He replied absent minded as his eyes darted around the office to find anything useful. Leaving General Collins surprised.
"Are you sure you are a green?" He asked. Ah! This made him panic even more looking blankly at General Collins.
'I have to go now!' he shouted in his mind.
"I mean, most of the greens have been bullied and abused. And I have received complaints. But you....." He was amused.
"Yes....I...I have not had too many problems." He stuttered.
"Ok, I hope you can find me if you have problems. I have been calling upon students and tried to help." He said.
"You can go." He said then Arthur stood up and saluted immediately going out. He felt so relieved.
**********
The next day had arrived and Arthur together with Myla were seated in the canteen with a sound proof barrier on the table.
"Hey, I thought about it all night." Myla started, nervous.
"About?" Arthur asked confused.
"I....I wanted you to teach me sword techniques, please." She blurted out after much hesitation.
"What?!" Arthur was speechless. Why would an archer want that.
"I thought you learn from the combat classes." He continued.
"Yes, I do but I wanted to improve, please." She begged further.
"Ok." Arthur accepted. It was an even. Keep my secret, I teach you.
Arthur had noticed the stares they were receiving.
"So the rumors were true? Myla got herself a low status boyfriend?"
"Yeah, I think so too."
"Aish!! They even eat together? So brazen. That's not her class."
"Aaaah. Stop your rubbish! It's obviously not her boyfriend but a slave! My Myla can't stoop so low. Just you wait, am gonna become her boyfriend." Another commented boosting.
The whisper continued further. All this while Alfred was happy as his friend had got a new friend and he hoped he didn't forget him.
But the rumors made him angry. A slave! Who said you can make him that? I will save him! He thought. He wanted to confront him now but he refrained himself as he would first ask Arthur.
For now, he would just watch as long as it doesn't involve violence.
"I notice too much attention on us. Is something wrong?" Arthur asked Myla confused.
"Aaaah, just get used to it." Myla said as she continued eating.
"Why?"
"It's because of this." Myla showed him a pic on her phone. It was of both of them with the heading 'Lover or slave.' with many comments flowing.
"What is this?" Arthur asked as he stared at it blankly.
"Isn't it normal for a boy and girl to talk?" He continued.
"Of course it is. But because it's me that's why they are interested." She explained.
"Why?! Are you some kind of celebrity?" He asked mockingly.
"What? Don't tell me you don't know me?" Myla was at loss for words.
"Nah! Why would I?"
"You mean you don't know Myla Reins?"
"Why? Are you a big deal?"
"Huh! Am Liam Reins' daughter. Leader of the Archers' faction." She declared.
"Huh? Are you serious? Is that why it's a big deal to be with me?"
"Yeah, just get used to it."
"I will try." But something disturbed him to the point of asking.
"Aren't you afraid of me?" He suddenly asked. Myla was surprised by the question.
"Afraid?" She was surprised.
"Yah, I mean after all the rumors about us being monsters and so on."
"Nah, is there a reason I should be?" She asked taking a big sip of her milk looking directly into his eyes.
"No, it's just natural." He replied with a chuckle.
'Atleast he wasn't a bad person.' she thought with pain in her eyes which she replied with a smile.
With that, the bell rang making them go to class. Naturally, all eyes were on them as they sat at the extreme back with the greens.
They were seated alone on the desk because no one dared to sit with them.
"So, why are you in that rank yet you can surely beat any student?" Myla inquired confused. They could talk because they had placed the sound proof barrier on the table.
"I just wanted to keep a low profile. You know being a nobody is great. You can do anything without eyes on you." He replied.
"But now, it's like am a celebrity." He continued with a chuckle. He found himself replying without hesitation. He felt really comfortable with her and found her funny.
"Yah, that's right. You are now a celebrity." She replied with a cute smile before continuing.
"I've always dream't of a normal life without responsibilities, dedications and all eyes on you. It's really cool." She continued.
"It's ok. Just appreciate what you have." Arthur consoled her. Myla found talking to him really comfortable and herself was surprised by this as she had never freely talked to anyone in years.
For some reason, she found a sense of familiarity in him as though she knew him from the past.
Soon they went out for their training.
They stood in training ground 6 as many items were in front of them like tyres arranged in rows, barbed wires in spirals situated horizontally and ropes tied as they fall vertically.
The students didn't waste any time as they quickly made 5 lines in front of the tyres.
You had to hop through the tyres quickly without falling as you would be disqualified and then choose your suitable wooden weapon and crawl through the spiral barbed wire as fast as you can.
Then you had to climb the raised platform and hop on to one of the ropes as you swing to another up to the finish point.
With doing all this, you had to keep track of your speed as you would be disqualified if you're caught up by your colleague.
Just then, the first five students were signaled to start. For some reason, they were all reds as they stood tall and firm. One of them had spiky purple hair with a medium coloured crystal.
He was progressing well as he hopped so fast through the tyres as his thighs felt numb as he was sweating rapidly but he continued as his colleagues cheered him on.
After 30 secs, another group was sent after them. Picking up a large blade, placing it on his back, the student ran very fast to the barbed wire.
He lay on his front and crawled through the barbed wire as it ripped his clothes as blood oozed out.
He gritted his teeth to bare with the pain as he continued forward moving as fast as he could as he didn't want his colleague who was running to the barbed wire as he held his spear in hand.
By the time he finished, his clothes were drenched in blood but he continued as he had the cheers from his friends. By this time, two of the five had been disqualified.
