23 (part 1)

Reaching the double doors of the throne room, Beast took a moment to regain his composure before he walked into the shit storm that awaited him. Schooling his features and hiding the fact that he had run full speed back to the castle, Beast pushed open the heavy doors.

“And where have you been?” Cassandra asked him the moment he walked through the doors of his throne room.

His gaze locked onto her as she lounged leisurely in his chair, her legs hanging over one arm of the chair.

“I went for a run,” he responded in the usual sour tone he used when he spoke to her.

She eyed him up and down, clearly not believing his story. Just as he opened his mouth to ask her what she wanted, she broke the silence between them.

“You kept us waiting,” she told him.

Us? That was when he noticed his brother standing beside her. Beast, too distracted by his thoughts, hadn’t noticed the man standing there.
