Three days. It had been three long and boring days since she had left the castle with Camren and found her way back home. While she had been elated to see her father and reassure him that she was well and unharmed, she often found herself alone in her library replaying what she had seen in the throne room over and over again in her head.
No matter how hard she distracted herself, no matter how many times she tried to push the images and sounds from her mind, she couldn’t. They kept popping into her head at the most inconvenient moments.
She had hoped her dreams could at least give her some type of reprieve, but she couldn’t catch a break when she was sleeping either. In fact, the entire scene played out with a clarity all too real, and she was tired of reliving it over and over.
