Sonya’s eyes flickered open as she slowly came to her senses. In truth, she didn’t want to move. She was tucked safely in the arms of her Beast, the warmth of his body keeping the cold at bay. But best of all, it got rid of that horrible nightmare she was having.
She had never felt so scared in all her life. Snuggling closer to his body, she needed more of his warmth. The cold was slowly starting to creep along her spine.
“Hold me closer,” she mumbled against the softness of his fur. “It’s cold.”
She expected him to quickly follow her instructions. When he didn’t move and the cold continued to seep into her body, she gave an annoyed sigh and opened her eyes, intent on fussing at him. Then, she realized that not only was she outside the castle, but the only heartbeat she heard was hers. In a rush, everything came back to her—Beast’s whispered words of love, that woman suddenly appearing in the bedroom, and taking an involuntary dive out the window.
