Chapter 29

Remi hadn't moved in two hours. He'd laid on the ground in shock and dispair. We were too slow. Mbilu and Sari never made it to the palace. Their handmaiden and chauffeur had no memory to what happened to their carriage. All that it was found empty at the palace. We'd spent a good half of the day searching for any clue as to where they could've went. He and Remi tried looking for the fire fae Silphe held hostage, he too was nowhere to be found. For the first time ever, we hit a dead end. Mother tried cheering him up by telling him that at least they didn't end up being concubines. At this point, he was sure that Remi would rather they be concubines than kidnapped. At least he'd know where they were.

Faysal slipped away from the depressing room and made his way to the back garden. He took out his phone and stared at the number. He hated it. Every fibre of his being told him not to do it but he had no choice. Only one person would know where the ladies were. He dialled the number.
