Turns out Elizabeth mum never knew her child couldn't give birth, It was sad watching a mother cry like this after being told of something hurtful. Her husband was the only one who could console her.
By the time she was done crying and had urged us to eat so as to lighten up the mood we had already lost our appetite. Xander decided to explain it more further to the couple.
They had all started on how carefree Elizabeth was and how she always dreamed of going to the mansion and eventually did. Elizabeth parent was never aware of her marriage with Damon which explains he empty banquet hall she talked about in her diary. I got to understand the family better and even Elizabeth.
The couple showed their hatred for Damon even at the presence of his brother and Xander sided with them. For their side of the story Damon was a coward for not fighting hard for his wife when Beatriz pressurized her, Damon was never home and not once did he visit Elizabeth family while they were married or even after her death, the couple loathes him so much you could tell by the way they praised Xander.
I also told them Damon wanted to get rid of the child and they cursed harder at him for being selfish. Their anger was the reason we now stood in the mansion a place Elizabeth family had avoided.
Beatriz came down the stairs with all her glory, she had this mocking face when saw the couple. "Do I smell rotten fish and....." She sniffed the room before she sprayed air freshener to the air. "Now that's better"
"Beatriz I have no time for this, get me your son, now!" Elizabeth's mother eyes widened with rage.
"Damon is resting, he doesn't need you wretched paupers around, my son is tired of your constant disturbance, I thought he already you his farmlands to compensate you for your useless daughter's death" Beatriz blurted out unwisely not minding how much she was hurting them, it became clear where Damon got his downgrading side from.
"You don't know what it means to be a mother, if you do you won't be talking the way you are..." A tear strolled down her eyes.
"Stop with the crocodile tears Janet cause it is such an eyesore, my son is resting come back later" Beatriz said.
"I am here, what do you need?" Damon said with such a rude tone maybe it was because he just woke or that is just how he sounded.... Rude.
Elizabeth's mum, Janet, told him to come down and he did. Damon stood at her front and then she slapped him which made Beatriz cover her mouth in horror, it was unexpected but well deserved. Damon staggered unable to keep his balance but stood firmly again and then Elizabeth father gave him another slap on that same cheek, Damon still stood there not moving.
Beatriz couldn't do anything and neither could his brother, I on other hand was given front row ticket to watch this.
"How dare you tell her to get rid of my grandchild?" Janet spat out given Damon yet another slap. "You think it is easy to lose a child and also a grandchild at the same time, I don't blame you but my daughter for marrying such a malevolent man like you."
"Damon! Why would you tell Priscilla to get rid of my grandchild" Beatriz said moving close to her son, Damon's cheeks were already so red you could see the markings on his face.
"Stay out of this" Janet pointed at Beatriz, "Priscilla come with me, from now on you will be staying with us" I followed them to the door before Damon caught my arm to stop me from leaving.
"She goes nowhere" he slightly pushed me to his side but two inches away from him. "Miss Priscilla stole from me and until she pays me back she goes nowhere" he said to the couple who were about leaving, Damon turned to the bodyguards around, "Make sure you don't let them in and miss Priscilla doesn't leave this house until I say so" he did coldly before he forcefully dragged me to my room and locked it before that the large door in the house was closed shut leaving Elizabeth family outside.
I couldn't help crying, why was I being punished? What wrong did Elizabeth do to get a husband like Damon? What sort man treats a woman like this? My mom? How was I going to see her now. All and more of this questions kept pouring in non-stop.
I was heartbroken to a point I slept off on my bed without realizing it, when I woke up I saw the diary Elizabeth had written, I decided to read it again to find a clue as to what had caused enmity between this two families.
There was nothing, other than the little I read before there was nothing else. I dropped the book by mistake which made the diary spread open..... And there it was, my clue.
