I wasn't comfortable about leaving Karen home alone, but I knew she needed some space. The whole issue with the mistresses had taken a toll on her, to the point that I was practically walking on eggshells around her. She did not complain, but I knew she was bothered because I could sense it. Gavin's decision to include her in the hunter's council didn't help matters either. The whole issue with the rogues and the government recruitment of hunters had made her agitated. I knew her folks wouldn't be around at the weekend, and she would probably end up home alone and bored. I decided that I would surprise her and return Saturday morning.
