THE TRUTH CAME OUT

I don't expect to see Maddox outside of the guidance counselor's office; he is wearing his beautiful smile that enlightens my mood immediately. His smile automatically made my day. Standing with Maddox is our class adviser Ms. Jerselle and on the other side is Cassy's friends.

"Hey, how was it?"Maddox asked as he gave me a hug.

"Everything is fine, don't worry," I answered happily in a low tone. I intend to have the conversation for just the two of us.

"Cassy, how are you, girl? We came here when we saw Maddox with teacher Jerselle."

I overheard Chloe when Cassy and her mom came out of the office.

"Thanks, girls, we're not done yet. But mom will handle it," Cassy answered.

"Angelique," Mrs. Miles called out my name.

I turn to her, standing beside her daughter.

"Yes, Mrs. Miles?"

"Angel, we're not done yet. Just because you are one of the school owner's daughters doesn't mean you'll get away from this. Absolutely not."
