At least he kept his promise to come home today. Ava thought wryly as she gazed at a flurry of snow outside her window. Ashton's odd behavior left her perplexed. Upon returning home, he had withdrawn to his study for hours, burying himself in work and skipping dinner. She shook off the thought that he was deliberately avoiding her, and instead, tried to think that he was thoughtful enough to have her dinner tray sent to her bedchamber while he couldn't accompany her for the evening.
