Count Your Seconds

“Do you have a hearing problem?” Anna asked that question which made Angela look at Anna with a frown.

“No,” Angela said, ‘Who does she think she is?’ Angela asked herself.

Anna just looked at Derick, Derick could already see that Anna’s jaw was clenched and her lips were pressed together. It was clear that the lady boss wasn’t happy and was trying to restrain herself from voicing her dissatisfaction.

“Ms. Burns, please take a seat,” Derick finally said as he gestured towards the empty seat, he then walked over to the sofa and sat down with enough space for another person to sit between him and the boss lady.

Angela didn’t make a budge, but Anna wasn’t having any of it. “Time?” she asked in a voice loud enough for the woman to hear that time was of the essence here and the more she stood around and didn’t listen was the possibility that she wouldn’t be hired.
