First Quest?

The first morning of being part of G.M.B. was shockingly relaxing. The once rowdy guild was silent, perhaps because of the amount of unconscious bodies laid throughout the floor.

Zauriel nurses his head as he sat by the counter, now fully clothed after the embarrassed treasure hunting he had to go through.

"You have anything for a hangover?" He asked.

Tsu who was wiping the counter, looks up from her work before shrugging.

"Not really, though a cup of coffee could probably work for you."

"Anything to take me away from this headache." He shrugs.

A few minutes later, Zauriel was drinking his coffee before he realized something, "Wait, I'm already part of the guild, right? So, where's my insignia?"

"Here." A shit-eating grin appears on her face before pointing at her lower back.

He widens his eyes before shouting, "Isn't that a tramp stamp!"

Before he could continue, the worst head ache imaginable interrupted him.

She smirks at him with a lazy look, "Well, since you were shitfaced drunk, I decided to help you and do it myself."

"YOU!" He points to her in anger.

Only to be interrupted by another headache leaving him writhing at the floor.

"Raaagh, rarara raaaa." (Leave the boy alone, Tsu)

A deep voice spoke in incoherent sounds. Zauriel only looks up from his pain to see a man with his face painted in black and white looking back as a huge guitar settles in his back.

"Oh, please. He'll live with something like that." She dismisses his concern with a wave.

She pouted at his eyes filled with scolding, "And besides, it's not like I could give the guild sign, only Dad can."

"Rarara, raaagh, ra ra ra." (You are obviously a source of distress.)

"Fine whatever you say, uncle Ben."

Ben only sighs in exasperation as he helped Zauriel up, his face filled with confusion as he spoke, "How the hell am I understanding you."

"RAAAAAAAAAAA" (It's my magic.)

He nods as he muttered, "That makes sense." Before slamming his head onto the counter with a shout, "No, it doesn't!"

The headache intensifies, leaving him foaming at the mouth.

Ben only looks in amusement before looking back to Tsu.

"Rararag rhaaaa rgagagha." (I can see why you enjoy teasing him.)

"Right?"

She then takes another cup of coffee and passes it to Ben, effectively ignoring the foaming Zauriel, "So, what made you come here early? You busy or something?"

"RARARAggggh Raaa rarargh." (Yeah, I'm here to take a quest.)

"Really?" Zauriel shouts.

He immediately stood back up. His expression filled with excitement at the prospect of his technically first quest.

With a smile, he inches closer. "Can I join?"

Tsu passes him a coffee as she spoke, "There's no way you'll be able to take Uncle Ben's quest."

"What! Why?"

"Rarararara raghh ragggh." (I'm an S-class, so my quests tend to be harder than normal.)

Ben gives him a smile, one that would have looked comforting if the makeup didn't make him look like someone about to murder him.

"Uh, yeah. I guess." said Zauriel as he nurses his head.

"rararararar." (Then, I'll be leaving. Welcome to the guild kid.)

"How the fuck did that noise mean so much!" He shouts to Ben, who chuckled at his reaction.

Ben stood up, ready to leave, before remembering something. He gives Zauriel a grin as he gives him a thumbs up.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAA" (And nice singing voice, we should have a duet sometimes.)

"Ahhh, don't remind me!" He shouts as he hides back his embarrassment.

Before replying with a small voice, "Thanks."

A sudden sleep takes him as he once more passes out.

"Huh, looks like I gave him the tea instead." Tsu looks at her hand before shrugging.

An hour passes, and the guild wakes up from the hangover. The men and women walk back to their homes to rest as they try to nurse their headache.

The guild empties as Zauriel and Tsu stay at the counter. Zauriel wakes up and yawns as the sun shines through the windows and he looks around.

His headache was gone, and all was right in the world.

"Where's everybody?" He asks Tsu who was busy working at the counter.

"Well, they woke up and went home. They'll probably return at afternoon once they get more of their sleep."

He looks behind him. "I see, so, when do I get the insignia?"

"Right now." The familiar voice spoke and Zauriel's stomach drops only to be relieved at seeing the clothed Adam, flexing his muscles.

Well, clothed is a strong word, more of pants and topless. But you have got to take what you can.

He raises his hand, magic concentrating at his fingertips as he gestures for Zauriel to come closer, "Where do you want it, young man."

Zauriel raises his forearm, showing it to him, "Here, please."

Adam nods with a grim expression before his fingers dances on his forearms, the insignia revealing itself to be threads of light, all intertwined to reveal a tree.

"Welcome to the guild," He looks around for a bit, "Unfortunately, your celebration came earlier."

Zauriel interrupts him with a smile as he looked at his forearm in wonder and excitement, "It's the thought the counts, sir."

Adam pats his back, "Call me Adam, I might be your guild master, but I'm not one for titles."

"Thanks, Adam." He muttered as he looked at his forearm in wonder.

"Hmm, then are you going on a quest?" Tsu asks as she takes off her apron.

"QUEST!" A loud shout came from behind Zauriel before a small missile slams into him.

Slamming him into the ground.

A red-haired kid stood above him as she shook him, "Are you going to a quest? Are you! Are you!"

The girl mentioned was in a cute red hoodie, with short red hair and excited red eyes. She shook the life out of the clearly in pain Zauriel.

Adam only takes the little bundle off of him, "Sorry about her, she gets excited when a quest gets mentioned."

"It's fine, I get it. But is she also a guild member? Isn't she a bit young?" Zauriel asks as he points to the little girl struggling at his hand, held up through her hoodie.

Tsu cackles, "Hear that Anne! You look like a little bitch."

The girl's expression turns manic as she tries to reach for her in a bid of anger, "I'll end you."

Zauriel only looks to them both and sighed in exasperation. He looks up at Adam, "Is there somewhere I could get a quest?"

"Oh, it's there." He points to a large board.

Zauriel reaches the quest board, ignoring the two women bickering behind him.

"Huh, this looks good and a reward of a thousand gold coins, too."

A red missile make another contact, slamming herself into him, "GAAAH!"

"Let me join! PLEASE! PLEASE!" She chanted as she inched her cute face closer to him.

"Fine! Just get off of me."

He nods fervently to get her off of him before standing up, her hands pulling him out of the guild as he waves goodbye at the two other people the guild held.

"That looks fun." She mutters as she looks at the two dumbasses leaving the guild, with Ann hanging off of Zauriel, which has repeatedly tried to get her off of him.

Her expression dreamy for adventure.

Adam glances at his daughter, who was making circles with her finger with a pout, looking up at her father.

He only sighs in exasperation, "Just get out of there."

And before he knew it, his daughter was already gone.

He looks around the empty guild hall before he kissed his biceps.

"Kids these days."
